I have no problems with the repairs that where done even though there were some flaws in there work. They corrected them fast. But Nate did lie to me a couple times. I was told that my door needed to be replaced it was but he said I would get new door seals, I did not. I was told that he would have a third party to buff my vehicle and told me where it would go but I called them and they don't do that type of work. People just take your vehicles to the dealer and get it done. read more

I'll start this review by saying I am super detail oriented about most things, including my BMW. So going in to a repair after a rock hit my passenger side door, I had very high expectations. Cockrell's came thru on all deliverables. Estimate in the parking lot was COVID safe, reasonable, explained very well, and super quick. The day of the repair was also super easy. Drop off, I received an update on status, and it was actually ready in a shorter time frame than expected. I had questions and contacted Melvin a couple of times. Now, I get a key part of a business is the output of their work. But Melvin, who wrote up my estimates and talked w/ me via phone and in person, he seals the deal for this business. Explained what was going on, what options I had, SUPER great followup, SUPER great communication. I could recommend this place on their quality work alone, but Mevlin, knocks it out of the park. I "picked" this body shop,based on the reviews... Big Mistake! My vehicle is a 2018 Nissan Altima SV. I had a minor impact on the Passengers side,where someone had lost a load of brush (branches of various sizes) on Highway 60, which I take from Winchester to Lexington every work day,starting out before 5am (usually dark,with light traffic) On this occasion, I had a tractor trailer "pushing" me, I couldn't slam on the brakes to avoid it,Nor swerve because of the vehicles on the opposite lane. The foliage rubbed the paint on the bumper, fender,hood headlight and shattered the fog light on the right side. My insurance company had "Preferred shops"; but, Unfortunately for me,the waiting list was backed up by a couple months. So, as many do I looked online for a well reviewed, highly rated alternative. Cockrells Collision Repair "seemed" to fit my criteria at first glance,so I contacted them was greeted with the good news they could take my pics,estimate and schedule me for a couple weeks later...I gave them As much information as possible so that with Supply Chain shortages,they'd have More than enough time to order Any/All replacement parts possible. There are Amazing Artists that make car repair videos that make fixing vehicles in modern erra look easy,only because they are Professionals...Working with minor damage, it should have been easy to put the car back to how it look Pre Accident. After choosing Not to Repair existing parts that could have been,they opted to take the insurance estimate advice a "Replace" everything it would pay for.I was expecting the vehicle to look fresh off the line,at the dealership New, not just "fixed" for the Over $3K the charged. The overall look to me seemed that they Did Not replace Anything, except what was Necessary (shattered fog light,plastic fender weld cover,engine splash shield etc.) The "over spray" paint to cover the rubs and scratches that were due to the impact brush was not well done,and left pitting on the hood,because it wasn't expressly due to the collision , but from gravel dings. Taking Pride in Paint & Body work should have led them to fill it it better,but the fact they wanted Maximum Profit by doing the job as cheaply as possible with low grade results seem the business model on this occasion. Even though the Representative called me Pleased with the results, almost bragging what an Excellent job had been done for my vehicle. Once on location, I was disappointed to see the lack of Quality Repair, and was given the Excuse because it had prior front end damage and bad repairs made,"They did the best they could with what they had to work with" because of this,the car looks half way fixed,and doesn't seem to bother them that everyone that sees Their Work is told to avoid going to them,because This is what you'll end up getting... I filed a Complaint with both my insurance company and the Office in Frankfort stating the botched job I received, with the let down of being told because I "Picked", I had no recourse to have it corrected. Go find a better shop next time was the advice given. So,they get over $3K for a $1,500.00 at best Shade tree hack job. I'm left with a car worth less,looking less than,because of reviews I wonder that are on here,if they are Real or not. read more

Just received my car back and they finished (pun) it well. Overall, it had taken 6 days and the estimate by Nate was RIGHT ON! I do not think I have had any auto body personnel come so close to the actual repair cost and it is amazing how he was able to get it within $100 of the actual. I am not sure if I vacuumed the car before I left it; however, I think they vacuumed my car for me too! LOL! read more

Had a minor accident which caused damage to my passenger door. Nate and his staff took great care of my car and were attentive and accommodating to me needing to drop it off after our vacation. RUN AWAY!!! Not only is this company overpriced compared to local competitors, but they are also unethical. One employee of Cockrell's actually colluded with a negligent local auto detailing business to screw me out of $500 in a damage settlement. Take your business to Paintmaster of Lexington instead. I was in a small fender bender during the summer of 2008. I brought my Honda CR-V here and received exceptional service. They kept my car less than a week and the repairs that were made were great! It was hardly noticeable where the damage had been. They also gave me a small 2 oz bottle of paint for future nicks and dings. They performed repairs on my car after an accident. Took them over a month and still issues. After the repairs were "completed" my car had issue with pulling to side. They did replace several suspension parts. The first person I talked to told me to "just drive it, should calm down". Then I had a guy named Melvin call me at 10pm on a Sunday night wanting to check on car. I advised him that I had car looked at and because strut was only replaced on one side that was making the issue. Melvin told me to get it fixed and send him receipt for reimbursement as he was on vacation. I sent receipt and was TOLD I would be getting a check from insurance company. I waited 10 days then I contacted insurance and was advised the reimbursement was denied and that was stated to Melvin. I confronted Melvin about the refund. And he told me that they must've change their mind and they're not willing to pay me back either. I would have not had the repair done so quickly if I was not told I would've been reimbursed. Everything from the unprofessional late night phone call, to being told I would get refunded then told no one is going to pay it and there's nothing they can do. And taking over a month to fix my car I would highly recommend looking elsewhere. read more

As a result of being hit, Cockrell's did work on my vehicle through the other driver's insurance. My vehicle has ultra high end electronics that took a little extra time and ingenuity to resolve. Their body work was exceptional but their behind the scenes work with needed sub-contractor repairs and with the insurance personnel was phenomenal. All I can say is that Cockrell's really does go above and beyond. My hat's off to Nate, he saw this whole process through, which, wasn't always easy. Cockrell's recently repaired my Cadillac CTS-V, and wanted to share my positive experience. Their service went above and beyond. My insurance company forced them to attempt the repair with subpar aftermarket parts, which I'm sure would have been adequate for other body shops. But Cockrell's attention to detail did not allow a less-than-perfect repair to leave their shop. Additionally they kept more informed throughout the entire repair process. In the end, my car looks better than it did before the accident. I will absolutely use their services for my repairs in the future. read more
