Professional, detailed, fairly priced. They are busy and once you visit you will know why. Make an appointment! While waiting for my car it was hard to not overhear conversations with customers in person and on the phone in the tiny waiting area. Everyone (female or male) was treated with extreme respect. No mansplaining! I observed the owner deal with a very difficult customer and was impressed with his interpersonal skill. I have no doubt that client walked away feeling heard. read more

I took my Saab to them. It had a sensor that was bad. I originally took it to another repair shop where they misdiagnosed it and charged me even though they misdiagnosed it.. IAS correctly diagnosed the issue and repaired it on time and for the price they quoted... Should have gone there first!! They were great. read more

Dan and his team the past few years have made servicing our vehicles very easy. After moving away from the area, even more disappointed we don't have Dan around... shops here have been tough. read more

Wet pleased with the quality of work and ability of the staff to explain what was needed and not needed.

Superb service. Can't recommend highly enough. Thanks for the tea and chat while waiting. Had my Jaguar's radiator replaced. No pressure tactics for any other work to be done. Thank you all. read more

Stay far away from Import Auto Specialist! I have had my GTI serviced by this shop for almost 5 years and they have consistently gotten worse. It started with a simple oil change where my factory dipstick was swapped out for a different one from another car that didn't properly fit my GTI. I contacted the owner who said he would order a replacement. Never happened. I let it go and had another service for an aluminum skid plate installed. Rather than using the installation kit provided it was installed with zip ties! Upon inspection I noticed this and returned to have properly installed. The last straw was for a timing gasket replacement where my car fender was damaged-paint chipped and dented. Pure Negligence! I noticed this when I cleaned the car a couple days later. They supposedly reviewed video and admitted fault. No explanation or apologies or even contacted by the owner as promised Rather payed my body shop to touch up. How does this even happen? You knew you damaged my car and never told me. I found the damage and called you out! I will never take any vehicle to Import Auto Specialists or recommend to anyone seeking honest quality work. Do yourself a favor and have your car serviced anywhere else. STAY AWAY! read more

Warranty on my Volvo has just ended - test drove Import Auto with a battery replacement - my experience was top shelf from my initial inquiry to my driving off the lot. Helpful, knowledgeable, courteous and friendly - Heidi deserves a raise for her timely and responsive communications. Finally, I've never experienced this before ... final bill came in under the estimate! read more

I needed an oil change for my Mercedes with very little lead-time. I explained that the hurry was due to a sudden death in the family. Import Auto Specialists worked my oil change into their schedule and provided prompt service with a reasonable price. You can be sure that I'll be a return customer and refer my friends to Import Auto Specialists as well. read more

Customer service was above and beyond what I had expected. I took my Mercedes in for a second opinion and was blown away by the amount of clear communication and professionalism. They've earned my trust with an overall excellent experience. read more

A great team! Very friendly and very professional. My vehicle had a very serious issue and Daniel and his team did a great job getting it back on the road. When I picked it up, I was given a very detailed statement of everything they did, and a very courteous and professional explanation of anything I should be aware of in the future. Totally satisfied! Thank you! read more

If you are going to the dealership, you are wasting your money. You are paying for the "free" cappuccino they offer you. You are paying for the loaner car that you get. You are paying for the loaner car even if they do not have any available. Do your car and yourself a favor and go to Import Auto Specialists. They are the most honest and affordable service place I have been. I had bought a used BMW, and I was having some problems. There was oil underneath the hood and leaking down. I was almost certain I had a blown head gasket that was going cost thousands. I drop it off with Import Auto Specialists, shared my thoughts. They called me an hour later saying that the wrong oil filter was used by whoever changed the oil last. I was expecting to pay thousands and I ended up paying like $30. Oil changes and routine services that a Mercedes or BMW dealer would charge $200, $300, $400 or more cost a fraction of that here. I've always been satisfied with the job done and my car has always been done on time. I've referred several people here and I will continue to do so. read more

Personal service from a trusted Professional. Highly recommend Import Auto Specialists for complete automotive service needs. Their attention to detail and expertise is second to none. A German car's best friend for all maintenance. Thank you for all you have done for us. read more

I would give these guys 100 stars if I could. Its refreshing to know that there are still good, honest, hard working people in the world. The prices are fair and the quality of work is outstanding. I appreciate how they'll differentiate between what should be done now and what can wait until later. Its refreshing going into an auto shop and not feel like I'm being swindled. I can't recommend this place enough! They also updated the waiting area and it looks great and is super comfortable! read more

As a two-car customer of Daniel's for several years, long before he established his own business, I can assert that he is the only person allowed to touch my car (it doesn't hurt that he willingly and patiently explains everything he's doing in layman's terms for those of us lacking any car knowledge whatsoever). Daniel works tirelessly, round the clock (literally!) to guarantee customer satisfaction and flawless quality work. Not only is he an outstanding mechanic, but also a dedicated and enthusiastic entrepreneur, philanthropist, and member of the local community. Daniel values relationships above all else, and a trip to Import Auto Specialists doesn't feel burdened or stressful, but rather like you're going to drop your car off with a friend. read more

Each employee I dealt with was very honest and fair. Prices are well below dealership and the workmanship is excellent. They gave me wonderful advice to work with my budget. Clean and friendly environment. I'm happy to have found a knowledgeable and trustworthy mechanic. read more

I'm very happy with the team at Import Auto Specialists. I've been bringing my car here for the last 18 months, mainly for oil changes. On my last visit, they said I'll probably need new brakes but I should wait for the light to come on. Sure enough, a few weeks later I get the warning and called for an appointment. Dropped the car off and they said they will check the rotors too. I also asked for an overall inspection since I was planning a long road trip. A few hours later they call and the brakes are done. No need to replace the rotors this time and no problems found in the safety inspection (just a chip in the windshield I knew about). Other shops might have wanted to replace the rotors or used the inspection to 'find' other things to fix, but not Import Auto Specialists. They fix what needs to be fixed and they do it quickly at a reasonable price. I highly recommend Import Auto Specialists. read more

Take both my Lexus and Mitsubishi to Daniel and team. They are honest and trustworthy and I have never had an issue with the work they do and the price they charge. I even bring my cars here for oil changes, etc. as they let me know how everything looks overall and any pending work that will need to be done in the future. Would not take my cars anywhere else. Only downside is that they are busy as people learn about their work, and I have to schedule appointments now. read more

I no longer live in Lexington, but wanted to have my clutch replaced during a family visit. We called around and were impressed by the professionalism of Import Auto. The clutch was replaced in a timely fashion at a very reasonable price. The shop and waiting area are clean and accommodating. Most importantly, the mechanics are respectful and not at all condescending to their clientele, which is nearly as important to me as the quality of the work. Highly recommended and will definitely be back. read more

If I could've given them 10 stars I would have. Absolutely the best customer experience and communication I've experienced. Daniel and his team are dedicated to their craft-that's for sure. I was a new customer a couple weeks ago and I'm going back as I have four imports that I trust he will do a terrific job maintaining. I would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone who values HONESTY, INTEGRITY and a JOB WELL DONE!! read more

Great customer service! Honest, dependable, and always fair prices! They are my go to mechanics!

Let me just say as a guy who isn't from Lexington, I am very lucky to have found the best mechanic in Lexington! I moved here from Atlanta 5 years ago and I have been to a few mechanics since then and I have not received the level professionalism nor the level of service from any other mechanic here in Lexington that I have received from Import Auto Specialists! They fixed my car in a very timely manner, they were honest, and above all their prices are very fair. It is rare that you find a mechanic who works on your car the way he would work on his own vehicle!! I refuse to take my car anywhere else now that I have experienced the best! read more

Love this place. Daniel, Grant, Chris, and all the other stuff are great. I know them for about 2 years now, and never had any problem with them. Top notch, professional service, no BS. I gave them all kinds of work, from small to big. Not once they've tried to sell me unneeded extra parts. Personally, I've learned a lot from Grant.Wise words, he is a tuner at heart! He has so much more knowledge about cars than I am, it hurts:) Very honest, dependable service. Will definitely keep coming back. read more

It's nice doing business with someone who likes what they do. Very honest and helpful. First place that ever told me I didn't need to have a repair that i asked them to do read more

So I am new to this area and I was in need of service on my Mercedes. I am not a fan of taking it to the dealer because of there rates. I found Import Auto Specialist and decided I would give them a try. I called to schedule a appt and the were very nice when I was speaking to them on the phone. I showed up for my appt and they got my problem repair quickly and looked over the vehicle to ensure that everything was ok. When it came time for the bill, my jaw did not hit the floor as if I was at the dealer get there bill. They are honest in all that they do plus they make sure that the job is done right and you are leaving happy. Trying to find a shop like this is hard to come by these days and I trust them with my vehicle. read more
