I like to research places to go with positive ratings, and I always read through them, just in case. I had a bad experience at another place, so it made me anxious to get my nails done, but here, this place was exactly how some people describe it. The two ladies who were working there yesterday were very nice and kind to me and my mother. I told the woman about my anxieties and getting my nails done because of the last time I went to a and she was very gentle with me and asked me questions to make sure I was right. I absolutely love the pedicure I got there and it made me feel safer and happy. It felt very inviting and it was very clean inside. I felt like I could breathe with the nice open space they have inside. I will definitely be going back again and telling other family and friends about this place. This is actually my second time coming here and WOW. About two weeks ago I went searching for a local salon, came in, wonderful service, mani and pedi looked great. No complaints, but also not super won over. Kinda seemed like every regular nail experience. Today I had a long morning and called to see if they could take me even though they would close soon. They said sure, when can you be here? even though it was going to take me 15 to get there. Wonderful! I arrive greeted with a smile and a gentleman whose name I totally forgot to get! He was super friendly and carried a good conversation about my job. He didn't rush one bit even though they waited for ME. Even told me he added an extra layer on the tip since my hands are always in water and wet as a bartender. LikOn top of the absolute incredible customer service, my nails are looking marvelous. :-) Definitely recommend Fashion Nails! UPDATE: I've grown into understanding what is and isn't a good nail technician. These guys are friendly and that's about it. The shop is dirty and they do a dirty job. Will never return. I have been going here for over 2 years. Tom does Amazing work & I always get compliments on the designs he does for me. I moved to St. Mary's county & still come back here. Places in St. Mary's county charge to file your nails down & to fix nails where the acrylic is a bit loose on the sides. Fashion Nails does not charge extra for these things that should be part of the price to do your nails. Plus their prices are more reasonable than anywhere else. Tom can also do my nails start to finish in 30 minutes. The last place I went in St. Mary's county took 1.5 hours to do my nails because the girls talked amongst themselves & the owners phone kept going off & the sound on her phone is of her baby saying "Mommy". I made the mistake of going to New Nails in PF a few weeks ago (between KMART and Giant). They don't rush you, they take there time on every part of your experience from making sure your nails are perfectly shaped to doing the color/design the way you ask and if for some reason you don't like something, they will gladly fix it without the huffing and puffing. I always have a nice conversation about work, family, my life, etc while in the chair. Not like most places that are awkward silence the whole time you are there. It is a good environment overall and the prices are not bad. You are paying for the quality and care you receive. I would rather spend a few extra bucks then walk out of another place feeling like I wasted my money for such crap. I moved to Calvert a year ago and have gone to a couple different places for my nails but was never satisfied. Today was my second time going and I have not had any issues everyone is nice and make you feel wanted there. I am in the service industry and know how you're supposed to treat clients and so do these guys! I will recommend them to everyone! I was there until they closed and didn't once feel rushed! They were so caring during the months that I was going through chemo; always scheduling around my treatments and accommodating any way that they could. I made apptointments for my 11-year old niece, who was celebrating her birthday, my daughter-in-law, daughter and myself for a special day of mani-pedi's. I told the owner that I'd like it to be a bit special. It was anything but. The older manicurist never cracked a smile while giving my niece her pedicure, she never got up to help turn on her massaging chair while she was soaking (it wasn't functioning properly). Finally, the owner put her in another chair that was operational. (That's a must when getting a pedicure). My daughter's nail tech made her bleed and then proceeded to polish over the blood. My daughter-in-law's nails were never smoothed before the polish and therefore appeared amaturish....we could've done a better job ourselves. My nail tech that gave me my pedicure was fine...nothing special...my nail was chipped the very next day, which never happens with pedicures....they always seem to last forever. Not this one. After my pedicure, I didn't want a manicure, seeing that my daughter was bleeding. I asked the older tech doing my niece's nails to paint on a little design....she did so without even asking her what design she wanted. If this is the only salon in town, which it is not, I would opt to do my own rather than pay to have it done at this shop. I'm just sayin...... read more

I have been going to this shop forever...probably about 6 years plus. The service is always great, the prices are really good and I have been happy with the service that Tom and Mike have provided every time I go in. The shop and techs were so friendly that I hate to leave a bad review but my nails were awful. They were so lumpy and bubbly looking, they did not sand them. My mother and niece got theirs done there also and had the same experience with two other techs and lost nails by the first week. So bummed their skills weren't better because they were truly very nice! read more

This was the first nail salon I came to when I moved to Huntingtown about 4 months ago and unfortunately I left them and went to a closer salon who seemed to be as good as them(boy was I wrong) so now, I am back! And they squeezed me in on July 4th weekend which was super busy for them but they made time for me and they are really nice. I forget the really tall guys name who works there but hes hilarious and seems to have a great relationship with his clients which is what I look for when I spend my hard earned money somewhere. This is a great nail salon. I see Mike every time I go and he is so gentle and the best! I go about once a month now, and will take photos in of the nails that I want done and he will create something similar but not the same, but so much better! I came for a gel set & pedicure the day before a wedding I was in 2 weeks ago (5/15/15). while the shop did appear to be clean, and the staff being very nice, I'm not very pleased with the finished product. first of all, there are very obvious bubbles on my finger nails. my right thumb could pass for braille. 9/10 of my nails have come up all around the edges. secondly, the nail on my left middle finger popped off today while I was just driving, not even messing with them, just popped off! also, I was the last of the 3 in our party to get my nails done, and I was finished first. I'm wondering if this is an indication of why my nails look so shotty and have aged so poorly. the bride received a gel fill, and she's missing a nail as well. I've had tips for YEARS but had to lose them due to past horrible experiences around the area. my Aunt referred us to this shop because it's where she goes. I'm glad they didn't grind away my skin like I had experienced at previous shops, but never have I had a problem with the quality of nails after only 2 weeks! very disappointing.
