I appreciated this as it reminded me of my time in France where patrons are encouraged to stay, mingle and live in a world without screens. I wish we had more of this. Secondly, she doesn't have a cell phone. She lives on the island with a good old fashioned land line. Again, if you ask me, I love this for her. I told her that Mission Hill had great Yelp reviews and she giggled asking who is even writing about these things. All this to say, if you want to support local when in Madeline Island, this is a great opportunity, Mission Hill also carries produce such as vegetables in season and other local pantry items such as honey and syrup. There are all sorts of other items as well like beeswax candles, sweatshirts and board games. My husband ordered a regular coffee and I got a hot Americano with a shot of vanilla.
