We ordered takeout via DoorDash from Farmer Boys last night. The food was okay, but probably wouldn't order from them again. My husband ordered the California BLT which was pretty salty. He made it a combo and the drink wasn't delivered with our order. The fries were better than the onion rings. My oldest got a cheeseburger which was good. Again, they completely impressed us!!!! Service, service and more service....unexpected personalized care...they listened to us, asked questions about our order and "WOWed" us with their personalized actions. We ordered a chicken sandwich combo with zucchini. The order taker asked us if we were sharing and being said yes we were. I quietly wonder why she asked this and thought maybe they were going to charge a fee but I didn't mind.. when we sat down a little while later the server came back and delivered us two plates. They split the order in half and gave each one of us our own plate.. This was highly unexpected from a very casual restaurant where you pay upfront and then out seated. A little while later, a different young man came over and asked us if everything was OK. Again, something not expected from a restaurant that takes your order at the register. I always order the chicken sandwich with the avocado because it's so yummy but I also have to watch the calories and that's why my mom and I split it.. The zucchini is amazing as well, and the employees proudly wear shirts with a remark on the back stating something as such.. the portion for my mom and I was perfect. Very satisfying and very affordable.. Our bill was $13.. We left them a $10 tip and we made sure to tell the young man and the lady why they were so deserving of such a tip and such a great comment and feedback.. every time we go in there it is without a flaw and service. Steps and service and friendliness are one of the main ingredients that is missing in today's restaurants.. the employees here are humble and do not expect a gratuity as many often do. When I called calmly to resolve it, I was told to come back and "wait for a manager" rather than being offered a reasonable solution over the phone. This is not the first time -- it feels like a pattern, not a one-off mistake. Mistakes happen, but dismissive handling and lack of accountability are what's most disappointing. We ordered chopped salad, Grilled Chicken box and fried Zucchini. We received our food and Salad was fine. My chicken box, cold. Not even warm. Sandwich and fries! Had to send back. When it did come back, it was hot, as it should have been first time. But dry. Needed extra mayo. Was some on. But not enough. We got the Fried Zucchini. Not good at all. It is like they took a whole zucchini and cut into quarters. Very strange. Was expecting small pieces. But what made it difficult was that it was not cooked. We felt like we were eating raw zucchini with breading. They were hard. We had to cut the zucchini in bite size pieces. Very crunchy. Ate maybe one, and threw rest away. From the lady taking my order, to the lady at the drive thru who helped me with some lids as the other lady refilled them, to the lady giving me my order and to those folks in the back that I couldn't see making sure the order was correct and absolutely delicious, thank you thank you!
