WHAT A TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Floors were extremely dirty, dead bugs in the overhead light fixture, no hot water, hole in the wall where toilet paper holder should be, bath fan was dirty and inoperable, electrical wires hanging out of the wall at the outlet next to the bed, no ice machine (you have to go to the sister property about a mile away to get ice), and indifferent staff. I reported all of these problems to the owner of the motel, and he saw them in person, but did not fix most of them during our stay. I wrote him several emails during my stay as I discovered the various problems (since the front desk is only open a few hours a day) and he did not bother to respond. The woman at the front desk was not helpful - she said she would have the owner call me to discuss, but he never did. There are not very many hotel choices in Forks, so perhaps the owner thinks he can charge whatever he likes and not fix the problems or provide clean accommodations. I go to Forks several times each year, and will never again stay at the Far West Motel. read more

DO NOT do late check-in at this property!!! I couldn't get into my room and had to drive an hour away at 1 AM to find somewhere to sleep. I called ahead per the instructions to let them know I would be arriving after office hours, and they sent me instructions for a smartphone app to use to unlock the door. I downloaded the app and it seemed like it was working, but when I arrived at the motel that night our door recognized the app but flashed red and wouldn't let us in. We tried extensively to contact them but they didn't give us an after-hours or emergency number, nor was there one posted at the motel, or even at what I think is their sister property across town (which the sign on their door recommended calling). We wasted about half an hour trying the door, calling them, and trying the few other motels in town, but everyone was either closed or booked up, and we had to backtrack an hour to Port Angeles to find a chain hotel that was open and had a room. The only positive thing I have to say is that they were quick to refund me when I called the next day. Maybe this was just a fluke, but it was one that was avoidable with better processes and safeguards, and it cost me a significantly pricier hotel room and hours of driving at the end of an already long day. In short, if you stay here, don't risk this experience. Call ahead first to insist on an after-hours number in case you're delayed and do not under any circumstances rely on their app to get into your room. read more

So the system cancelled my reservation without notice. I think it is because my credit card number changed so they couldn't charge me the day before. But I never got notice they cancelled my reservation. I showed up to check in, front desk girl could not find me. She called her boss who told her to make a new reservation and charge me a new rate. My original rate was $80 after tax. New rate was going to be $130. I said no thank you. I was reluctant to stay here after first sight since I'm not sure it's insulted. What would have been good business manners though is to call me before cancelling that reservation. Or stay true to the agreed upon rate. Oh well. read more

We stayed at FarWest Motel for 2 nights, June 2-3. I got bit during the night and because we had the window open, I had thought it was mosquitos getting in through the screen. It turns out, upon returning home, I was bit several more times and found that bedbugs had came home with me in my suitcase. After seeing other recent reports on bedbugs.com about someone else's room having an infestation, I hope the property manager has treated the entire building accordingly. read more

The only reason why I choose this place to stay compared to anywhere else was "Steven" the person who answered the phone. He has great personality and really down to earth. Here are the pros and cons of staying here. Cons- curtains need to be darker (room doesn't get fully dark), there is nobody there after 9pm to solve problems, tv didn't work at all, and barely enough parking. Pros- small comfortable room, great water pressure, easy checkout procedures, closest motel to the beach in forks, and of course Steven who was by far a person who loves his job. read more

I was planning a multi-day trip to the Olympic National Park and was looking for a convenient location to spend the night along the way. I read every single Yelp review of every single motel in Forks. I was nervous about staying in Forks because I'm used to staying in big chain hotels. I came across this place and decided it sounded the best. This is a 7-room motel run by a friendly, chatty Vietnamese lady. She cleans all the rooms herself. Since there are no pets allowed and no smoking allowed, that helps with the overall room cleanliness. There is also complimentary wifi here (she will give you the password). My group had two rooms. One of the rooms had two beds, a full size refrigerator, a sink, microwave, and full size dining table. The other room had a king (or queen?) size bed, small fridge, and small dining table. I'm really picky about which hotel I stay at, and I was pleased with the room cleanliness. The bathroom was spotless. The mattress, pillows, sheets were all clean. I brought my own pillow because I'm "high maintenance" like that; the pillows here were clean (no stains) but too flat for me -- the others in my group didn't complain, though. There is an old, white building in the same lot, but that is not used. The owner said the demolition would cost too much, so she just left it there. The motel rooms are in the brown buildings. I don't think I'll ever have a reason to go to Forks again, but I would definitely recommend this place to anyone needing to stay in Forks. read more

Found this while looking for a last minute room to dry out our gear after a wet backpacking trek in Olympic national park. When she found out we were nearby, the owner immediately invited us over to look at the room, which was spotless. She was very friendly, everything was very clean and well maintained, and the location was perfect. Would absolutely stay here again. Don't be turned off by the appearance, some of the rooms have not been renovated so part of the property looks a bit sketchy, but only the renovated rooms are rented out. The address is 251 N Forks Ave! I was in Forks and the Quinault area working on mountainsides. I was sent there without a place to stay and I was going to be working late into the evening. I was working with a local man who made a call to the owner of the Far West Motel, in search of a room for me. She told him she was booked, but sometimes people don't show up for reservation. The owner would call me if there was a room available and she would hold it. Sure enough just after six, she called me, holding a room for me and that I would be able to check in whenever I got done working. Beds were firm, rooms were immaculate, free wifi, satellite TV, a perfect hostess, and so accommodating to out of towners. I called her again the following day, to get two rooms, one for me and one for my coworker who showed up, again, with no place to stay. My coworker showed up at 10:30 pm and she came out to greet him. When you read other reviews, some mention "don't be scared", they are right, the seven renovated places are beautiful, with a nice metal green roof and beautiful on the inside. Did I mention they were clean, the cleanest I have stayed at. You will be pleasantly surprised. The other unrenovated rooms are a just the future of what this place will be. One more thing, the owner is amazing, super accommodating, and if you are in the area, stop by and see the Far West Motel. She just might call you with a cancellation and help you with a room. read more

Cycling into town, I passed this motel, but the buildings were in such bad need of a coat of paint that I passed it by. But, since some of the others motels were full I came back. Turns out that this motel is both really nice and really cheap. Only half of it is in operation however and what you see the most from the road are the rooms that are awaiting renovation and are not open for business. So looks are deceiving. The other half of the rooms, in separate building, have been thoroughly renovated recently, both outside and inside and are really quite cozy, clean and new. In a motel kinda way, don't get me wrong, this is not the Four Seasons @ Forks. But still, it is quite good value and the owner, an older Vietnamese lady, was very nice and accommodating. read more

I really enjoyed staying in this motel. It had just 7 rooms, quiet and clean. For affordable price I got refrigerator, microwave oven and electrical kettle for making my tea. I checked in late in the evening, very tired after all day hiking. This small Vietnamese owner (or manager) saw I was too tired to go out to look for some food so she shared with me her beef stew and rice. The best diner I ever had! It was so sweet of her. She was very friendly and carrying and fun to talk to. read more

Vinh for the win! Great lodging find full of character in Forks! The Far West is located at the far north end of town across from Sully's Burger's and has been owned and operated by a charming Vietnamese lady named Vinh Pieper for the last forty years. It's literally a one-woman operation with Vinh taking the reservations, cleaning the rooms, and acting as the local concierge. Rooms are a little dated but spotlessly clean with simple and comfortable beds. In-room fridge was a little loud but wasn't using anyway. $85 plus tax for a single which is a bargain given the lack of supply. You'll need to make reservations in advance here as there are only seven rooms and she usually fills them up quickly, many with repeat customers. read more

Worst hotel I have ever had to deal with. Don't waste your time or money here. Even if they are the last hotel in forks. Go stay in Port Angeles. If I could give no stars I would. I booked through Expedia. It was a "book now pay later" deal. They tried to run my card before I got there. TWICE. And cancelled my reservation. I called and asked them not to run it. Told her to give me an hour to put money in my account. They gave me 15 minutes and cancelled my reservation anyway. They replied to my Google review and lied saying they emailed me in the morning. I have all phone calls and all messages recorded to prove otherwise. They did not message me until 1 pm. (gave me until 3 to respond) they should have CALLED to tell me they needed confirmation. Expedia said no confirmation needed. Even after I confirmed card information they STILL cancelled my reservation. But it shouldn't have matter anyway because it was a PAY ON ARRIVAL. I can prove that also with my booking history on Expedia. This hotel is dishonest and horrible. He said he was going to report me. I had to make a claim with Expedia to make sure they didn't charge my card. I also had to tell him I'd report him to the police for harassment because he wouldn't stop messaging me. Which I still will if he doesn't stop contacting me. read more

I reserved a room at The Far West Motel in Forks Wa. I explained that we needed a early check in because my sister - in - law was getting married at the prison & we absolutely could not be late. We arrived at the Far West around 9:15am. The sign on the door stated there hours of operation started at 10:00am. When I called the number the message said they opened everyday at 9:00am. I left a message we waited until close to 11:00 am no phone call back & no one showed to open the office. So inorder for my sister-in-law to make her wedding time. We had to get ready in a gas station restroom. My sister-in-law was so upset after haven to get ready in a bathroom restroom. I finally was able to find another room. I continued to call the Far West Motel I finally got a call from the Far West Motel close to 6:00pm. The person I spoke to was so completely rude & didn't care about what we had been through. After reading some of the other reviews I have no idea how this business continues to stay open. I feel so horrible for my sister-in-law to have to get ready for her wedding in a gas station restroom. Today was hard enough haven to be married in a prison. read more

Similar to other folks, found this place last minute on a trip to Olympic NP. Don't be scared by the outside appearance. The seven renovated units are extremely clean and newly remodeled. Great location within Forks and reasonable price. I found the wifi a little slow but functional. Beds were comfortable and clean. FarWest is a good place to stay for a clean room at a reasonable price for the area. Though the room size was typical of a roadside motel, it's interior has been updated recently. It was large enough to include a desk which my husband appreciated. The bedside table had a USB charging station which was appreciated after staying in other motels with limited standard outlets and no USB outlets. The small number of units gives the place a quaint feel. Signage indicates internet may be intermittent, though we did not experience a problem the connectivity. We did experience a disruption in cable for about 5 minutes. We stayed 1 night-9/6/19. read more

I was "forced" to go to this town by my 2 Twilight fan friends, so it was not by choice! Well the city had that small town feel, and I loved it. We ended up at The Far West Motel for the night. As we got there, the owner was busy cleaning up another room. She gave us room 1. When we walked in, the room was spotless. I mean, everything was SPOTLESS! Never been to any motel this clean before. The owner is really friendly and very helpful. You get free wifi so that's also a plus considering you're in the middle of nowhere, you're probably going to want internet access. I think, my only small complaint is the toilet seat. They have the foam seats where you sink down and it feels weird. That's about it. Oh and the fact that everything in this town closes at 9 and they don't open until 10-11 the next morning. read more

Found the last room in Forks here, while exploring the Olympic National Park area. It's a nice, cute place - room had a full fridge and microwave, hostess was a nice old lady who kindly came and helped us when we had an issue late at night. Not being a Twilight fan, it was a nice break from the over saturation of Twilight seen in the town, and is far more accommodating than the expensive resort at La Plush if you are looking to stay within driving distance of the amazing beaches on the coastline near La Push. Not amazing, but nice and accommodating for a pretty good price. read more

The owner is a real gem! She told me that she cleans all the rooms herself so that she can be sure it is done right. Our room (#2) was spotless and equipped with a queen bed, wifi, satellite tv, an oscillating fan and a mini-fridge. After the bad vibes we got from the other hotels in town we took a chance on this one, which does look somewhat unsavory from the outside, and were very pleased! (An added bonus is that it is walking distance to North South Garden restaurant, which was so delicious.) I'd stay here again. read more

This place didn't even deserve 1 star, however I had to put at least one so I could post my review. Worst customer service ever! I booked this through expedia.com two months ago to stay for one night. Took my daughter for her 18th Birthday/Senior Prom to see the town of Twilight, yes Forks. I booked the room two months in advance. The day we came to check-in I was told that my reservation was canceled. When I asked why it got cancelled the guy at the front desk said well we tried to charge your card this morning and it was declined so we canceled your reservation and gave the room to somebody else. Now if I'm at all correct, any time that you book with a hotel they square up with you when you get there. However if you fail to come in by the end of your check in window, 3pm-7pm on check in day then they'll bill you for the room. But I've never in my life had my card ran for the full price before I even get there. And then have the room canceled on me, they didn't even bother to call me or anything. Usually you put a card to hold the room, but that doesn't always mean that's the card you're going to use to pay. I was absolutely discussed, the guy was very very rude and the place looks like it was ran down anyway. read more

I'm a daily traveler for my business. I cover MT, ID, OR, and WA. So I stay in a different hotel every night for approximately 5 months. This motel wins 2 awards from me. 1: This place was the most expensive place I've stayed on my trip. 2: This place was the biggest dump I've stayed in as well. I've stayed in places half the price and ended up in a first rate suite. I had no desk to sit at to do my online work, so had to sit in bed. Nowhere to spread my stuff out because the room was so small. Had to keep everything in bags and zipped up in my suitcase. Tried to get some ice. No ice bucket in the room. Only ice available was in a bag sitting in a freezer. No scoop, so you were just expected to reach your hand in and grab it!!! GROSE!!! No additional interior door locks. Anyone could just take a credit card and jimmy the door open while you're sleeping. (Lets hope I don't have to throw lead tonight!) And not that it was really a big deal, but the bedspread looked like it came off the set of "That 70's Show". This place offers next to nothing for the price you pay. And you better hope it's not a hot day when you stay because there's no air conditioning. I don't know what this place spends all their gouged guest money on, but it's not the mellininial offering horrible customer service. You would have to pay me to stay here again!!! read more

Amazing find. Doesn't look like much from the outside but the units are beautifully renovated, spotlessly clean, thick fluffy towels, good wifi connection, friendly office staff, large fridge if a bit noisy, no microwave or breakfast but there are good inexpensive places to eat in town. Overall very happy with our find. read more
