It was also our first bnb experience, and they shot it out of the park! After a long day of exploring, we were met with a home that was warm, filled with all the details you could imagine, & kind hosts. 10/10 would recommend!! And an amazing breakfast to boot! My only note is that it looks like they don't change the sheets or have the room tidied up for you after you check in. If one is staying longer, a room refresh would be nice :)

The Inn was spotless, well-managed, and truly a notch above places we've stayed in the past. Breakfasts were outstanding and served with genuine care and attention--on real china, no less! It made mornings feel extra special, and I'm still thinking about those amazing muffins. We felt truly appreciated and welcomed throughout our stay. The thoughtful touches didn't stop there: Dessert bar each evening, 24-hour access to coffee, tea, cider, hot cocoa, ice, and ice water made us feel right at home. While the rooms weren't huge, they were very comfortable, (and well equipped with anything we could need) and the well-designed common spaces more than made up for it. We especially loved enjoying dinner on the deck each evening--it was the perfect spot to relax and make memories. High praise to the owners for creating such a warm, well-run retreat. We'll absolutely return if the opportunity arises. Kudos and bravo! I wholeheartedly recommend the Misty Valley Inn!

I can't say it enough, this is one inn you dont want to skip if you're even on the Olympic Peninsula. and wonderful staff will have you feeling like a VIP. The common area is beautifully and stylishly furnished. They will supply you with clean, warm blankets to snuggle up to as you sit by the fire pit for Happy hour, which takes place every afternoon. The breakfasts are very tasty, and it's clear that great pride goes into their preparation and presentation! And might I say the garden area overlooking the sea is a slice of paradise. The grounds are lush and private enough that you're not running into other guests very often. The hubby and I loved the Lavender suite, which has a great view of the garden and sea. The bath was spacious and upscale as well. If you need ideas and suggestions for how to explore Olympic National Park, just ask. You won't be disappointed with the recommendations you receive. Yes, you will pay more than you might at a local hotel. But the experience here at Colette's makes it worth every penny. Don't ever change!

Would have gotten 5 stars except for the following; 1. Each time you come or go you have to get out of your car and manually open/close the gate. For what they charge for rooms they should have an electric gate and give people the code. 2. Breakfast is only served at 9AM, and often you want to get out early to beat the crowds to hiking/scenic places. 3. The ice machine has been broken for quite some time, so if you want ice later in the evening you need to hope the house manager is around. Otherwise it is a wonderful place to stay.

It is attached to the main house so you can rent one or both depending on the size of your group. The owners were great about answering my voicemails and emails. There is a very small bedroom with a double or queen sized bed. The pillows and mattress weren't the best, but that might be my one single complaint. The living room has a nice TV, a DVD player and a bunch of DVDs, a cute little electric fireplace and a ton of comfy blankets. It was great to curl up on the couch with wine and a movie after a long, cold, wet day of hiking in Olympic National Park. The kitchen is updated and fully stocked, even had spices and such. There's a small dining area where we ate breakfast every morning. The price is great and way below any of the waterfront "resorts" I also found online. We ended up driving past some of the other places I considered and they looked like dumps. Our house was adorable and actually probably the nicest house in town, from what we witnessed. The location is unbeatable for trips into the Rainforest and Olympic National Park. Port Angeles is a quick 45-60 minute drive if you need a "city." The drive from Seattle airport to Forks is beautiful and was definitely a great part of our trip. A note on Forks, WA: This place is weird. Of course I'm aware of the Twilight phenomenon and the role Forks plays. There is NOTHING here. There are a couple of poor to mediocre restaurants. A main street with some everyday shops, hardware stores, and bizarre Twilight themed shops. We didn't spend any time in the town except for a couple dinners. We found Pacific Pizza to be the least disappointing. We would totally stay here again and would definitely recommend to friends.

The bed was extremely comfortable, the kitchenette was great for having a little extra space to make meals, and the fireplace added so much warmth to the overall comfort of my stay. It feels so well loved and cared for, and inviting! And the staff was friendly, offering suggestions for what to do in the area and even chatting about the local wildlife. If you're looking for somewhere to stay in PNW, I strongly urge you book a stay at the Miller Tree. Also this is a detail that probably doesn't mean much to anyone else but me, but the scented lotion in our bathroom was Twilight Woods by Bath & Body Works, which was one of my favorite scents when I was a teenager. Being able to form new associations with that scent and this trip made it extra special!

Value was fair. We paid $828 for two nights in the Indian Summer Suite ($918 with tax). For this the missus and I got a private bedroom with a queen bed, and our children each got their own beds in the kitchen/living area. The single bathroom and shower stall was adequate for our needs and we had a parking spot underneath the unit. Caroline, who has owned and operated the B&B for 8 years, was consistently communicative, warm and helpful. She baked cookies for us both evenings, and served us healthy and filling breakfasts. She also offered good advice on where to go for dinner and sightseeing. Bonus: the grounds are captivating, with deer and a fish pond on the premises. We would be happy to return.

A Wonderful Stay at Manitou Lodge in the Heart of the Forest…read more Our family stayed at Manitou Lodge in March, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. The drive through the forest to get there was stunning--lush greenery and breathtaking scenery--but do be aware that it gets very dark at night. Thankfully, the lodge itself was well-lit, making it easy to find our way and locate our room. We stayed in a double room inside the main lodge, and the setup was perfect. The entrance to our room was conveniently located off the main lodge area, making it easy to come and go. The space was cozy and well-equipped, with a dining area, a small fridge/freezer, a microwave, and in-room coffee--always a nice touch! Dishes and silverware were provided, which was great for quick meals, though if you're staying more than a day, just note that there isn't a dedicated spot for washing them. Beyond the accommodations, the entire atmosphere of Manitou Lodge and its surroundings was simply magical. Nestled deep in the forest outside of Forks, it felt like a peaceful retreat, yet it was also a fantastic home base for exploring the Olympic Peninsula. Everywhere we went, from the lodge to the nearby landscapes, was absolutely breathtaking. If you're looking for a beautiful, relaxing stay surrounded by nature, Manitou Lodge is an excellent choice. We had an amazing time and would absolutely stay here again!

Scam. Everything…read morefrom the host's poor communication and unprofessionalism, to the super creepy Ring camera that records you go to the bathroom in the pitch dark SO CREEPY!  (more on this later) But if only that were it! DECEPTIVE. They listed an "entire cabin" "with bathroom", and it turns out that I just booked a private room, with a public outdoor restroom that anyone could walk up and use. FILTHY. I'll leave pictures, but there's cobwebs a foot away from your face where you sleep, the bathroom had dead mashed spiders on the walls, the showers don't get cleaned (weird blue stuff), there's exposed insulation foam on the ground right by the front door under the sink (so much for dog friendly, this could kill your dog). And a random sink on the ground near the fire pit? What? NO WIFI. I got full on bait and switched. The wifi network provided in the ROOM (manitoulodge2) didn't work, and I was told to go to an entirely separate building to work. Unbelievable. That's another thing, if you look at the listing, the "lodge" refers to 1)your cabin 2)the entire property "Manitou lodge" or 3)the "great room" /main lodge. They told me the listing provides that wifi is only available in "the lodge" (the main lodge, a separate building) and denied any obligation to provide wifi in the actual room you booked. Really unbelievable, and it felt like a deceptive listing. Thus, NO WIFI in the lodge you booked. POOR COMMUNICATION: the host stopped replying to my wifi issue, leaving me to troubleshoot my devices all night, and gave no eta of fix, and I ended up wasting hours due to their poor communication. Even as I was about to check out, it was still not fixed. They deflected and made excuses the entire trip. It was very unpleasant and difficult. I had to rearrange all of my plans for the weekend due to their lack of communication. I tried to meet them halfway and went to "the lodge" (the main lodge), but the wifi didn't work there either. I provided proof many times (as best I could with spotty service) but received no helpful solutions. (And before they reply about me not going to the entirely separate bulding, I did, theres many bars but no internet still (pic attached). BOOKING PRICE DOES NOT INCLUDE FEES. (They demand it upon arrival). Their listing looked cheaper than everywhere else this way, but it ended up being much more expensive. So much unprofessionalism and dishonesty. Also, it's not in their listing but entrances require stairs, are not disability accessible, and the front desk and cabin requires stairs. They also get extremely slippery. I'm not leaving this review to be mean, it's genuinely concerning that they'd try to run their lodging like this. It's really not acceptable, and I hope that they take another one of these reviews as constructive criticism and take some semblance of responsibility. I hope people know that there are better options in the area. As for the creepy cameras, I'll attach pictures, but they turn on every time you exit the door of your room. It's hard to believe that this is after the fix. It's still super creepy. The camera is obscured when you open the door of the cabin at that angle, but fully picks you going in and out of your cabin every time,) and is pointed directly at the bathroom. I'm really not a fan of a dude watching me every time I make my way out of my room to the bathroom. The listing made it sound like they were normal security cameras, and I was stupid enough to give the benefit of the doubt. Nope. It would have been more relaxing to stay home. Honestly. I wish I stayed home. If you're like me, you're going to be stuck without connection in the middle of nowhere trying to ask airb to get you a different place, (but no wifi lol) and driving in and out of town and having all of your vacation plans ruined. Absolute Nightmare.
