A Wonderful Stay at Manitou Lodge in the Heart of the Forest Our family stayed at Manitou Lodge in March, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. The drive through the forest to get there was stunning--lush greenery and breathtaking scenery--but do be aware that it gets very dark at night. Thankfully, the lodge itself was well-lit, making it easy to find our way and locate our room. We stayed in a double room inside the main lodge, and the setup was perfect. The entrance to our room was conveniently located off the main lodge area, making it easy to come and go. The space was cozy and well-equipped, with a dining area, a small fridge/freezer, a microwave, and in-room coffee--always a nice touch! Dishes and silverware were provided, which was great for quick meals, though if you're staying more than a day, just note that there isn't a dedicated spot for washing them. Beyond the accommodations, the entire atmosphere of Manitou Lodge and its surroundings was simply magical. Nestled deep in the forest outside of Forks, it felt like a peaceful retreat, yet it was also a fantastic home base for exploring the Olympic Peninsula. Everywhere we went, from the lodge to the nearby landscapes, was absolutely breathtaking. If you're looking for a beautiful, relaxing stay surrounded by nature, Manitou Lodge is an excellent choice. Scam. Everything from the host's poor communication and unprofessionalism, to the super creepy Ring camera that records you go to the bathroom in the pitch dark SO CREEPY!  (more on this later) But if only that were it! DECEPTIVE. They listed an "entire cabin" "with bathroom", and it turns out that I just booked a private room, with a public outdoor restroom that anyone could walk up and use. FILTHY. I'll leave pictures, but there's cobwebs a foot away from your face where you sleep, the bathroom had dead mashed spiders on the walls, the showers don't get cleaned (weird blue stuff), there's exposed insulation foam on the ground right by the front door under the sink (so much for dog friendly, this could kill your dog). And a random sink on the ground near the fire pit? What? NO WIFI. I got full on bait and switched. The wifi network provided in the ROOM (manitoulodge2) didn't work, and I was told to go to an entirely separate building to work. Unbelievable. That's another thing, if you look at the listing, the "lodge" refers to 1)your cabin 2)the entire property "Manitou lodge" or 3)the "great room" /main lodge. They told me the listing provides that wifi is only available in "the lodge" (the main lodge, a separate building) and denied any obligation to provide wifi in the actual room you booked. Really unbelievable, and it felt like a deceptive listing. Thus, NO WIFI in the lodge you booked. POOR COMMUNICATION: the host stopped replying to my wifi issue, leaving me to troubleshoot my devices all night, and gave no eta of fix, and I ended up wasting hours due to their poor communication. Even as I was about to check out, it was still not fixed. They deflected and made excuses the entire trip. It was very unpleasant and difficult. I had to rearrange all of my plans for the weekend due to their lack of communication. I tried to meet them halfway and went to "the lodge" (the main lodge), but the wifi didn't work there either. I provided proof many times (as best I could with spotty service) but received no helpful solutions. (And before they reply about me not going to the entirely separate bulding, I did, theres many bars but no internet still (pic attached). BOOKING PRICE DOES NOT INCLUDE FEES. (They demand it upon arrival). Their listing looked cheaper than everywhere else this way, but it ended up being much more expensive. So much unprofessionalism and dishonesty. Also, it's not in their listing but entrances require stairs, are not disability accessible, and the front desk and cabin requires stairs. They also get extremely slippery. I'm not leaving this review to be mean, it's genuinely concerning that they'd try to run their lodging like this. It's really not acceptable, and I hope that they take another one of these reviews as constructive criticism and take some semblance of responsibility. I hope people know that there are better options in the area. As for the creepy cameras, I'll attach pictures, but they turn on every time you exit the door of your room. It's hard to believe that this is after the fix. It's still super creepy. The camera is obscured when you open the door of the cabin at that angle, but fully picks you going in and out of your cabin every time,) and is pointed directly at the bathroom. I'm really not a fan of a dude watching me every time I make my way out of my room to the bathroom. The listing made it sound like they were normal security cameras, and I was stupid enough to give the benefit of the doubt. Nope. It would have been more relaxing to stay home. Honestly. I wish I stayed home. If you're like me, you're going to be stuck without connection in the middle of nowhere trying to ask airb to get you a different place, (but no wifi lol) and driving in and out of town and having all of your vacation plans ruined. Very comfortable, cozy, and relaxing place. I only stayed one night at the Lady and Guadalupe room when I family and I visited Olympic National Park. This place is just as described and even better than expected. This place is in a quiet forest area filled with charm and cute decorations. There is even a very friendly cat living in the lobby who loves seeing and playing with the guests. I definitely enjoyed my stay at Manitou Lodge and wish I had the opportunity to stay longer. This place is definitely a must-stay spot for me if I ever visit the Forks area in Washington again. read more

If you are thinking like I was, that the cabin would be a romantic little fun place to have a getaway with my wife and spend time together, GO ANYWHERE ELSE! Run away. Nothing was more of a mood killer than having a port-a-potty to use as a bathroom, to find it hadn't been cleaned out in months, so you see and smell a pile of feces, and spot black widows in the corners. Our sink was so small, it was laughable. You almost couldn't even use it without extreme discomfort and almost unusability. We tried to then go into the main lodge, and found bathrooms in there, but they are coded and locked. We asked for the code, and were told we don't have access to them. We tried to get internet as well to stay in touch with loved ones, and at least distract us from how bad things were here. No signal, and even though we had connected to the wifi, reception and the connection were both so bad, we couldn't even do that. We were forced to sit in the thick of the bad experience we just paid a premium for. Within 1 hour, we were already discussing just walking away from what we paid (which was far too much for what we got) and just heading down the road to another place that had basic necessities for far less. I would highly recommend going anywhere else. I felt cheated for what was sold to what I got. It was ridiculous, and downright fraud. The fact they use 3 different names (Outback Too Rustic/Manitau Lodge/Whiskey Creek Beach) to try and hide the resulting reviews. Very telling. read more

Smallest tent site ever! They don't list them Sm, Med or Lg. If you have a bigger family size tent you will have a problem. It was a 3 day holiday weekend and no toilet paper half way through, nobody to check you in or talk to (accept by txt), porta-potties full of spiders, they make you buy their WET wood if you want a fire, I mentioned to my daughter that there was a mustard pack in the shower soap dish and she said it was there a month ago, previous filth in my campsite and a peacock (or something) crowing from 4am on every morning and in the evening. Planning a trip to Forks, WA for my birthday in May. Found this lodge online and booked it through their website. I never received a confirmation email. When I emailed to see if I could get a confirmation, the email bounced back. The email on their website is not working. So the next day, I called the number on the website, no answer... left a voicemail.. no call back. On the voicemail he says to text him to reach him sooner. Two days later I tried texting.. no reply. Finally two days after that, I just wanted to cancel because I wasn't sure if we even had a room. My partner found another number on the credit card statement, called that number.. no answer. Left a voicemail.. no call back. Thankfully our credit card company was able to reimburse us since there seems to be no way to even get a refund and cancel! The Manitou Lodge B & B is lovely! In the forest about 15 minutes from downtown Forks. Our room was so comfy and and the deck was great! I loved sitting in our private area with my morning tea. We had a toaster, refrigerator, coffee machine, plates, glasses etc. It made it so easy! Due to covid we could not use the 'great room' but could enjoy looking at it from above. Booked this lodge through booking.com. It said budget friendly room and we had booked for 2 nights. When we got here we were surprised to see that this was a Cabin and had no restroom and shower inside. We were asked to use the portable potty and a shared shower area. For someone like me who s not at all comfortable with shared shower and potty it was really very very disappointing and huge turn off during vacation. There was no mention about this on the website while booking. "Budget friendly room" who would know what the heck this is. No pictures nothing !! Unfortunately we did not get a refund when told about this . A great rip off with false advertisement !!!! I suggest the management to please be more descriptive of their listing so it helps people when they are booking. We had a book another please elsewhere at the last minute. My friend and I just finished our stay here and we were not expecting it to be so clean and cute.. the photos here on yelp don't really give it justice. Everything was clean and the restroom had a vintage feel. We had an outdoor deck that was surrounded by trees. There was a mini fridge, microwave, utensils, plates, bowls and she even left a little basket with snacks. Unfortunately we are vegan so we couldn't eat them. There was also a Keurig in the room with coffee. Downstairs they had a table with ice, jam, hot coco, any other needs. Last but not least there are three puppies on site which was probably our favorite and best part of the stay.. there names are jelly, coconut and little dog... they don't make a fuss and are very welcoming and adorable. Oh and the outside views were wonderful. All in all a great place, very welcoming host and we def enjoyed our stay. read more

The Bed and Breakfast that isn't. During this time of COVID 19 there are many difficulties to running a business like this. It shouldn't be the excuse to not deliver basic services. I first tried to stay here back in March,2020 when the day before I was to arrive my reservation was cancelled due to COVID. On the website there are many warnings, especially their cancellation policy and you must give them 14 days notice, but they allowed themselves one day notice! I was at Hurricane Ridge when I received an email, not even a phone call! Trying to arrange accommodations was no small feat. Not one to hold a grudge, I booked a room in August 2020. I had the Lady of Guadalupe room, $500 for two nights. By the way they are no longer a bed and breakfast, just a bed now! Why did the breakfast get cancelled,yep COVID again. They could have provided a continental breakfast with individually wrapped breakfast items, there are many things they could have done. The room was nice but had paper thin walls. I could hear the neighbors phone on vibrate! There are 4 or 5 rooms in the lodge, I could hear the occupants below me and I am hard of hearing! I had forgotten my toothbrush and asked for a spare but no they don't carry such things. No lotion, no tissues either. This is a bare bones kind of place. Couldn't go into the great room because of, you got it, COVID. I never saw any of the staff, all interactions are done by phone. There are signs everywhere with warnings that make the place feel very restricted. It is a sad place to stay and it is obviously struggling. No maid service at all! To replace towels or Kuerig cups it required that we do it ourselves and why is that? COVID! No surprise, I will not be staying there again read more

We (2 couples and 1 toddler) stayed at Manitou for one night in June. It was just an okay experience. -Check in at 4pm and check out at 11am. We happened to be in the area after 2pm and asked about early check-in but it wasn't possible. -Breakfast was prepackaged in a basket left in the fridge. 4 ham/egg/cheese croissants, 4 small dishes of yogurt, some fruit, OJ in a carafe, couple pieces of toast w/ jam. -Our room "cedar" (the only 2 room suite) was located RIGHT next to the check-in counter. That was a bit disconcerting, but the lodge didn't seem very busy/people were off doing their own things. There were kitchen privileges associated with this room but we did not use it. -In the shower stall, the knob was located outside the stall. There was a cute note saying they don't know why it happened, but it doesn't change how inconvenient it was. The shower had a dispenser for 2-in-1 and a body wash and the water didn't do funky things to my hair. The towels were super soft. From what we could tell, there were at least 3 other rooms booked same as us. One neighbor we heard snoring across the hall and giggled quietly as we tiptoed past. The ones above us were either heavy walkers or the floor was just old. CREAAAAAK. Every time they used the water we heard it. FLUUUUUUSH/whoooosh. The other couple was located outside in a separate mini-studio. On the upside, they had wifi! And apparently it's not typical for B&B-types to allow children younger than 7 (or whatever) to be here, because our toddler had a tough time sleeping (sorry neighbors!). So that was cool of them. Also, they did not require a 2 night minimum. The website says the property is for sale. I doubt we'd go back even if it wasn't. It was just 'nice' but not the experience I'm looking for. I will start with the negative. Differently not worth $165 dollars a night. Bathroom sink was clogged and shower grout appeared to have mold. Hot water lasted 4 minutes so had cold shower. The deck outside the back door did not look safe for more than one person to stand on. The fridge and microwave are outside the room in shared space. The WI-FI is spotty at best. I had business Zoom call had to sit in lobby to have Wi-Fi. positives; The decor was wonderful and bed was comfy. Hosts were nice and respectful. I believe the cost for this room should have been half the price. read more

Can't recommend this place enough! I stayed in one of the campsites and it was amazing! All the benefits of camping without the annoying set up and tear down! They thought of so many details, like an axe to chop logs and a lamp in the tent, along with a comfy bed and plenty of blankets. All I really had to bring was food! I brought my stove, but they provide a grill for the firepit so even that was optional. And don't worry about taking up car space bringing firewood. . People sell it all over and I found all I needed just walking around. The caretakers were so friendly and the place was quiet and peaceful, I can't wait to stay here again! read more

I simply cannot understand anyone giving this gem less than 5 stars. A bit out of town but so worth the drive!!! Way better than the pictures. We stayed in the top floor which had a balcony kitchenette/dining area overlooking the great room. Had our own retro fridge, played records, worked on the puzzle by the window - such a cozy, old-school type experience. Buy some deli salads, heat up some cooked sausage, open a bottle of wine and save on dining! Never saw staff so felt very at home, like a summer house on the east coast, complete with two of the friendliest cats you will ever see. A true bargain. read more

Manitou Lodge campsites are an absolutely TOTAL ripoff. We arrive, we want to know how to lock the A-frame, go to the lodge, and all doors are locked and there's no advice on how to contact staff other than with a cellphone and ours didn't have service. As my husband navigated the locked lodge scene, and finally received entrance from a family who just arrived (they had a code to get in), we use the rotary phone at the empty front desk with no answer until the third try. I further check out our campsite. Cigarette butts galore in the fire pit, strewn beer cans (which I recycled in a nearby bin), and NO water source we could find for drinking, and on top of all of this, the bathrooms smelled like poop! No wonder there were no other car campers! We were so disappointed and left, but also left with a $287 credit card charge. What a rip off Whiskey Creek! read more

Let's start out that this is definitely a lodge, and not what you would call a traditional bed and breakfast. We get in, and it's beautiful grounds. The lodge is rustic, and very northwestern. You get in, and don't expect to see anyone at the front desk. It says that you need to check in between 4-6, and call a number if no one is around. So we called. A man showed up. He checked us in. Gave us the tour. That was fine. The Sacajawea room is big and spacious. My in-laws stayed there. We stayed in the Lady of Guadalupe room. It's tiny. It has a king bed, and a day bed in the same room. Along with other miscellaneous pieces of furniture. It was hard to maneuver. The bed was comfortable. That was a plus. This is where the tide turns-we had toilet issues. We called the house managers and it was 8:30 at night. He came over, asked my husband should you do it or should I? Seriously? I don't get paid for this. Besides that my husband did it anyway, with no luck. My husband asked for an auger and the man said I have one but I'm not going to deal with that tonight. It's late. Well we have no toilet. His suggestion-move to the room next door. Honestly? It's an inconvenience for you to get an auger but moving all of our stuff to another room isn't? I just suggested we use the other bathroom and stay put where we are. He wasn't the most helpful, and not the best at "managing". It's not like it was 11:00. Hop to the next morning when we checkout. Again, he's nowhere to be found. Our "breakfast" is found in the refrigerator. We return the keys at the front desk and call it a day. No goodbye, no have a nice trip. Even at a hotel we at least get that. Although, for sure on that checkout piece of paper it says if you haven't paid make sure you do! Forget hospitality at this place. It doesn't exist. Over the years, I've gotten more stingy with my 5 star ratings but I have almost nothing negative to say about ML. I booked online a few days ahead of time (on Wednesday for a Saturday night). The pictures were accurate of the property. I showed up around 3-3:15 (early for a 4pm checkin) and was told by two employees I was early and checkin wasn't until 4 but my cabin might be ready. I said no problem at all, I was just gonna read in the lobby and maybe use the wifi but no rush at all. I'd been off AT&T service and was jonesin' for the wifi, a little. AT&T doesn't get service at the lodge. The snack cart in the lobby was nice; apples, tea, coffee, hot cocoa mix, water, ice. I checked in maybe 15-30 min early (they discourage that) and got the tour of the property. My cabin (Outback) had line of sight to the Wifi but I did have to go back in and reconnect once. And boy, my cabin was cute! I uploaded pictures. It really feels like they tried to think of everything. The oscillating space heater. The fan. The chair hanging on the wall. The fridge with lactose free yogurt, dry breakfast crackers (Belvita), toast fixings and a breakfast sandwich and a half carafe of OJ (not pulpy). Coffee maker. Toaster. Microwave. Silverware, napkins, dishes, cups. One open electrical plug on the surge protector for my phone. My bed had enough blankets and pillows. It was cozy. I brought my own candle and it scented the whole cabin easily. There was a weird scent in the cabin. Like a disinfectant covering up something. Also brought a bluetooth speaker and it sounded good in the cabin. Wifi streamed Pandora okay but not so much any video. I spent a good portion of time reading in the lodge with the fireplace on. The cabin doesn't have a shower so I used the outdoor shower (I was a little leery) but it was so nice! Rustic (spiderwebs) but a nice flow from a waterfall head, cushy mats and an overhead heater (I couldn't make that thing work though). Soap and shampoo were provided. I brought my own but if you forget, it seems like you're okay. Also brought my own towels (unnecessary) and considered an extra pillow (unneeded). Still should have brought a blanket for the beach. I also read in the afternoon light outside the lodge. They have hammocks, chairs and picnic tables. It's in the middle of nowhere and I LOVED that. You won't just stumble on Manitou Lodge. The options for your accommodations are awesome too. From cozy tinyhouse cabins, the patio rooms attached to the lodge, the RV that doesn't move, the fully stocked campsites and some regular detached cabins, Manitou is the kind of place that would be fun to rent out for a wedding or anniversary party. Each accommodation seemed unique and well-appointed. You can tell this is a labor of love. In the lodge, the guy played Mussorgsky and Pavel on the stereo. I'm going to assume it's because I was reading Dostoyevski. I was introduced to other guests as "Twilight Girl". It was a sweet, welcoming place. I got recommendations on food (Three Rivers or Puffin101) and was told to call ahead (on their phone) for a pickup before 9pm. Super helpful! Three Rivers is about a mile away (1.6 mi and 35 min walk says Google). He makes "real coffee" in the lodge around 8am. I opted for Forks Outfitters. I did drink the coffee in the room was it was tolerable. Bathroom is attached to the lodge, through the laundry area. The outdoor shower has a port o potty next to it. I was there the weekend of Twilight celebration (commemorating/celebrating Bella's birthday, my neighbor told me, the weekend closest to 9/13). I learned this after she knocked on my door around 8:30pm. She was preparing for the masquerade ball and needed help tying her mask and deciding on shoes. I was stoked I got to see the other cabin. It was bigger than mine. Had a table to sit at where she had set up her bluetooth speaker. I couldn't hear it at all from my cabin 10 feet away. She said she'd stayed at mine last year. I loved that people come back to this sweet little lodge. It was nice she was friendly. I didn't feel unsafe or unwelcome as a single woman coming to see Olmpyic National Park. I slept so soundly. It was very quiet at night. One gripe, there's gravel on the paths so you hear people crunching around. Maybe consider grass or something quieter around the cabins. I didn't hear anything after 930 or so. I expected to hear my neighbor come home from the ball but I never did. Loved my stay. Loved the cabin. Loved the property. Can't imagine a better experience. Look forward to trying out other rooms/sites. read more

We stayed in the Mani-tent site, a cool little set up outside the lodge where they put up a tent with pads, comfy sleeping bags, and provided a private tent site area complete with fire pit, picnic table, etc. My husband and I chose here because it was 1) cheap, and 2) looked like a bunch of fun. Ultimately, it was a bunch of fun. the lodge provided us with a smores kit and while it was pretty minimal it was fun. They had matches and metal skewers at the fire pit, all we had to do was get some firewood and get a blaze going. Luckily, my Girl Scout skills kicked in and we had a gently raging beast of warm fire to fill our night as we gazed at the stars outside the lodge. On average, our stay was more minimalist than your traditional bed and breakfast experience, but we got to enjoy the location, the internet, the free coffee, and the lodge environment as well as a fun pseudo-camping experience for a steal. I decided to go to Manitou with my boyfriend and his mother because we wanted to stay in Forks. We were looking for something slightly rustic, but still comfortable. We thought a lodge style B&B would fit the bill. That's where this review comes in. The Good: It's very close to the beach It's right smack dab in the middle of a beautiful clearing in the forest. There are hiking trails There is a classic style lodge The Bad: They milk the Twilight craze to the point of desperation The "Breakfasts" (Or lack of) When you bill yourself as a Bed & Breakfast it is expected that the breakfast part be up to the same level as the bed. However the breakfast was prepackaged the night before and was a slowly defrosting ham and cheese croissant, which I couldn't eat since I'm a vegetarian and (which was inedible even for my boyfriend, who is one of the least picky eaters I know.) some yogurt, and fruit.The reason given for this was so many guests leave at different hours so creating a breakfast is not an good option for the guests. I have been to cheap motel chains that had continental breakfasts better than this. The simple solution would be to stop billing yourself as a bed and breakfast or create a reasonable hot breakfast at a set time. Now I wasn't expecting this to be a Four Seasons and to be pampered like a princess. I was not expecting a full service hotel. I know most B&Bs are fairly self service, but I feel we were a bit misled. If I had known this was in no way, shape or form a bed & breakfast I could have brought food with me to eat the next morning. As it was, I left very hungry. read more

This place is amazing! I loved the look of this cabin, loved the decor, and loved the fact that it was so peaceful! We had a room upstairs with a private eating area with a fridge which had our breakfast in it. Honestly I thought this was a great idea since we would get up SUPER EARLY to head out on our adventures for the day. We would eat what we had to heat up and take the rest with us as snacks. I thought the food was great and delicious. I really liked the setup area with hot chocolate and hot cider. Wine glasses and openers were also provided. My wife and I gave this place a shot for a last minute weekend getaway and we came away having had a pleasant experience. We stayed at the Outback, which is one of the small cabins located just outside the main lodge. And no, "small" is not a relative term in this instance. The tiny cabin had just enough room for a bed, small sink, mini fridge and a couple small appliances - no shower or toilet included. However, the cabin is located just outside the lodge, which has a toilet dedicated for exclusive use of guests who are staying in the small cabins. However, if you want a shower, you are out of luck since none are available on site outside of the private rooms. Instead, there are public showers you can drive to down the road (about 1 mile). We stuck with bird bathing and it worked out just fine. :) That being said, the price was significantly less that what we would normally have paid for a B&B and the cabin itself was quaint and comfortable. There are plenty of power outlets for charging phones and plugging in electronics and enough room for two people to move around comfortably in. My wife has special dietary needs that were met by the staff, though the food was good but not great. The lodge has a nice homey feel with big cushy chairs, free coffee and tea and a spacious interior. It even has free towels to take with you to the beach! There is wifi in the lodge, though signal was choppy or lost in the cabin. Overall though, it was nice to just hang out and lounge around in the lodge between venturing out. Of course, there are plenty of things to do around the area; beaches, hiking, sightseeing and even leisurely drives will keep you busy during your stay. If you are looking to get away on the cheap without sacrificing all the comforts of home, I'd recommend the small cabin experience at Manitou Lodge. read more

4 stars for Manitou Lodge if you are a low-maintenance person. 2 stars for Manitou Lodge if you are looking for a more robust B & B experience. For us, the lodge was a nice place to come back to after a day of hiking and exploring the area. We loved that it was so close to Rialto beach, and it was more affordable/less Twilight-crazed than places in nearby Forks. We took advantage of the free Wi-Fi to plan the next day's adventures as we sat in front of the fireplace, listened to music on the stereo, and drank tea/coffee/hot chocolate/stuff we brought with us. As others have said, there are things about Manitou that make it quirky and give it personality. "Breakfast" is done via a "breakfast basket," which might be croissant sandwiches or quiche, fruit, milk, juice, cereal bar. This was actually great for us, because that meant we could take it with us when we hiked. If you want a sit-down breakfast, you might be better off staying in Forks. Also, the lodge building is older, so floors creak, walls are thin, floorplan is odd (e.g. check in desk right next to a room), and there is one room with the controls for the shower *outside* of the shower stall. Thanks for a relaxing night in the quiet forest! The bed was big and comfy. Check-in was easy and hands-free. Coffee-maker, microwave and fridge made it easy to warm a snack and prep breakfast. And of course, Rialto Beach nearby was vast and wild as always! read more

We stayed here in May of 2010 in the Sacajawea room. The room was nice, had a fireplace, comfy bed with big fluffy blankets, couch, & bistro table set. The walls are a bit thin -we could here other guests turning in. Luckily, they were quite. There was hot coco, cookies , hot apple cider available all night. It was clean and the private bath was decent. I loved the lodge feel, the owner and housekeeper were very friendly as was the dog. The breakfast was simple (microwavable ham & cheese croissant, yogurt, fruit, etc). The add states "breakfast basket" so we did not expect fancy -- we preferred the privacy of it and at our pace -turns out it was tasty. It was a little overpriced, but I suppose that may have been due to twilight fans? Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it for those who like the private rustic pleasures. read more

Manitou Lodge is the best hotel in an area with otherwise limited accommodation options and restaurants. The location is great if you're keen to visit beautiful Rialto Beach, a 15-minute drive, and Ruby Beach, about one hour away. The Lodge is quite secluded and the nearest town, Forks, is about 20 minutes away. You can find some limited food options there, however, with COVID, much is closed down or operating on limited hours. The cabins at Manitou Lodge (Owl) are acceptable. They offer no contact check-ins and I didn't see anyone at the lodge for several days (though the lights were on at night). The Owl cabin was very, very dark inside and the walls are paper-thin. I could hear the other guest talking on their cell phone (and the person on the other end) clearly and loudly. Bring earplugs. Still, it's likely your best option in that part of Washington. Just make sure to pack in your food and snacks. There is very limited cellular reception (none for me until I got to Forks) and slow wifi in the cabins. read more

Absolutely gorgeous and secluded. They let you have the run of the main lodge. It is a little dated, but that didn't hurt a thing. We stayed in the Cedar Room which had 2 different rooms, 2 queen beds, and a fold out bed. It could hold 5 comfortably and for under $200 and it included breakfast there aren't a lot of hotels who could beat this price. Highly recommended for a relaxing weekend away. read more

Just finished a self guided 7 day tour of the Olympic Peninsula. Stayed at the Manitou for two nights and absolutely fell in love with the place. We stayed in the Owl room of the cabin and it was one of the neatest places we have ever stayed in. The breakfast basket is a really awesome touch and was very good both mornings. Yogurt, trail mix and other goodies in with it. Be prepared to unplug, cell service is a dream and no TV which I really enjoyed. Very close to the beaches and had a small fan for the wife in the room! We will be back!!! read more

I love every single thing about this place! My daughter and I stayed in the Outback Too cabin. It was quaint and quiet and easily the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in away from home. For dinner we built a fire and roasted hot dogs and marshmallows, and the owners stocked our fridge for breakfast, even accommodating my daughter's vegan diet. The property is beautiful and quiet. Absolutely loved it and can't wait to stay again. read more

Wow. What a fabulous find! We don't usually like bed and breakfast places, but this one is in a class of its own. Talk about atmosphere! Warm, creative, relaxing. I really felt renewed somehow by staying here in this beautiful lodge surrounded by woods. The managers are attentive but keep a low profile. The other guests were quiet and respected our privacy. We shared an outside deck but had our own dining niche on the upstairs balcony. Our bed was comfortable, and we had our own Keurig coffee in addition to the coffee service downstairs. We had our own microwave and refrigerator too. Breakfast was delicious and quite adequate. We really loved staying here and would do it again in a heartbeat. Thanks to the resident managers and also to the owners for providing this unique and heartwarming experience and for trusting us with this beautiful lodging. read more

My bf and I stayed in the lodge for two days. We loved it. Place is very quite and they have really cool system when they don't have sit down breakfast at the main lodge but they leave breakfast evening prior in your own fridge (sandwiches or waffles, yogurt etc). That actually works pretty good ! Trail around the lodge area is very cool and Rialto Beach is right nearby. For dinner we went to Forks - Pacific Pizza was pretty good. Lodge management is very nice and friendly. We loved the place :-) Room is pretty small though but it's the experience - when you basically comfortably "camp in the woods with shower and bed". Don't expect Grand Hyatt hotel - it's not the place or point - you are in log cabin in the woods! read more

My fiance and I have stayed at this Bed and Breakfast twice. Both of our experiences were wonderful, I can't imagine going to Forks and staying anywhere else. The first time we stayed in a tiny cabin in the back, it had a sink and enough room for a small bed and fridge. It was perfect since it was August, and we were mostly outside exploring. This time we decided we wanted a toilet in our room, so we decided to stay inside the lodge. The Lily room is so cute! It's upstairs and outside of your room on the little indoor balcony, you get a breakfast nook- complete with a little umbrella table! The lodge is beautiful and looks like it would provide a great hang out on rainy days. The owners are very personable and kind. They even accommodated our gluten free diet. I would recommend this B&B to anyone travelling to the Peninsula. It provides easy access to Forks and LaPush beaches, since it is right in the middle of both. Bottom line- This is an amazing place and I hope you will get to enjoy it too! I should also mention that breakfast is left in your mini-fridge every night. You get to warm it up whenever you please- which is very convenient because you don't have to worry about waking up in time to make it to a communal breakfast with a bunch of people you don't want to see before drinking your coffee. I love this aspect and the privacy it gave us, if you want a fresh cooked hot breakfast every morning this is not the place for you. We showed up on a Friday night and realized our reservation was for Saturday/Sunday after driving all the way from Seattle. They were able to put us up in a different room for the night because they weren't booked and we were super grateful. The lodge is tucked into some trees and it's the perfect place to get away for a weekend or more. It was about a 10 min drive from the beach. I loved both of our rooms and the great room full of warmth and warm drinks. The owner had a very friendly and well-behaved dog. The whole place just felt like home and forget what the other people said about breakfast- if you prefer to do your own thing, like big comfy beds and strong coffee, this is the place for you. My boyfriend and really wanted to go to take a weekend trip to the Olympic National Park and stay by the beach, but with last minute planning we really didn't have many options. I feel like I really got lucky when I found Manitou Lodge! We stayed at Tentsite I. It worked out perfectly! We don't camp very much so we didn't want to spend money on all of the gear for just 1 weekend and I was so happy to find that Manitou Lodge provided everything you needed for a night of camping! Tentsite I was in a very private location on clean and very kept grounds with a short walk to the shared bathroom. The lodge is tucked away and a bit off the road, but I felt it was perfect for a nice little getaway. There is a shop that closes at 9pm about 10 minutes up the road that has everything you need for last minute items and had a restaurant there as well. The only thing that we were missing was the kindling to get the fire started - we couldn't find it anywhere. And no flashlight was provided but luckily we remembered to bring our own. The B&B looked like it was really nice and possibly next time we will stay in one of the main rooms, but for people who don't have much camping gear but would like to have the whole camping experience, this is the perfect place for you! read more

We were pleased with our room, the Eagle, which allowed us to bring our four month old lab. The grounds are beautiful and the lodge is warm and welcoming. I'd highly recommend a stay here. read more

I thought this place was adorable. We rented the Outback Too for a night and it was perfect. No issues with noise, the bed was comfortable, and the waffles and devonshire cream energized us for our morning of climbing beach logs and scaling mountains. Maybe we're easy to please, but for $100, it worked just fine. read more

My husband and I stayed for one night in the lady of Guadalupe. I was impressed. I was not expecting much but I found the place very charming. I appreciated the ability to check in late and eat breakfast at our time of choosing without having to stick to strict timelines. I know some reviewers have griped about the breakfast but I thought it was pretty decent and great for people on the go who want to get out early to see the sunrise on the beach or do the hole in the wall hike at low tide. I don't have any dietary restrictions but in the welcome email after I booked it asks if guests have any so that they might try to accommodate. I loved the separate eating area. I loved the room decor and found it very clean. The managers were very nice and overall I enjoyed the relaxed away from the city ambience. The Lodge is a little off the beaten path but in my opinion completely worth it! read more

Charming property and lodges. We decided to do a one-nighter on our way through and opted for the VW tent. We appreciated the cozy bed and table set up in the tent along with the fire wood. But the only thing we were looking forward to was the advertised s'more's kit when we arrived. After the owner greeted us at the camp sight, we jokingly asked where our s'more's kit was. He did not really have an explanation why we didn't get one. I promptly pointed out it was in the description advertised for the tent. We saw him shortly after walking to the campers that arrived down the street with their very own s'more's kit. For a fun out-of-the way camp site, he took all the fun out of it by not providing the s'more's kit. Renting a VW tent with no s'more's kit isn't that fun. read more
