I've been wishing for a store like this since coming to the realization that most furniture stores have the same boring types of pieces that are cheap and fall apart. Lo and behold, Far Pavilions has been around for 16 (?) years and I had no clue! If you are wanting a statement piece, and / or something well-made (solid wood!) then this is a must-stop. I fell in love with so many items, it was almost overwhelming. I absolutely love how they write a little backstory on the tag for each item so you can learn about how something was repurposed. They have all kinds of furnishings too...coffee tables, side tables, consoles, armoires, lamps, table runners, etc. We went through the store several times and discovered more things we loved each time. And I think have even more online and in their warehouse. If you're wanting unique or one-of-a-kind home furnishings, searching for sustainable pieces, and love a boho / eclectic vibe, Far Pavilions is the place to go. This place has some really interesting imports and older antique doors and such. Very baroque ornate mirrors, repurposed doors made into wardrobes that look as if they had been in some seriously old monasteries overseas, and some really one of a kind pieces to accent your home with. The wood furniture they sell is very unique and one of a kind. If you need something to really set a room or rooms off then this is the place for you. We bought two lovely armours for ourbathrooms. I was shopping for a TV console. Visited your big furniture stores like Star and Gallery Furniture around town, but my wife remembered this small store in Katy. Found a piece, hand made and for a little less money! Much of the store might have a middle eastern, SE Asia style/feel, but we found our console that was not overdone (see picture). Solid wood, great stain colors. The entire store is full of unique items. If your looking into reclaimed wood furniture, you should stop by. Friendly staff as well! read more

We are in the process of giving our master bedroom a makeover and have usually purchased furniture from places like RoomsToGo in the past, but this time was different; I wanted to turn our bedroom into a place that brought me happiness when I walked in. I went on a search for some quality furniture pieces with a rustic look that would bring in some soft colors to our bedroom. I browsed websites such as Pottery Barn, West Elm, and Crate and Barrel and visited furniture stores such as Star Furniture and Gallery Furniture, but I could not find anything that I truly LOVED until I walked into Far Pavilions. The hard part was choosing what to buy, because everything in their store was exquisite! I settled on a beautiful white washed armoire repurposed from old teak doors, and it has made such a difference in the way our room looks. Their prices are higher than Star Furniture and may be slighter higher if not the same as Gallery Furniture, but the quality and uniqueness of their furniture surpassed the other stores. Could not recommend highly enough. When it comes to up-market furniture, my finaceé and I have quite discriminating tastes. Not only do we have family in the trade, but we also both travel around the world extensively where we often come across unique finds. We happened upon Far Pavilions on a brief trip to Houston (we live in Washington, DC) and made a point to return at our soonest opportunity. The selection of items are not just great imports, they're also quite unique and well made. Some pieces custom manufactured for the store, but an extremely high ratio of 'oh that's interesting, I've not seen that before' moments. Once selected, they were extremely well wrapped and prepared for moving up to Washington --not a scratch or a ding found on arrival. We found it here! We went in looking for the perfect piece for our dining room niche and Ritika came to my home and measured to make sure it was just right. She is also an interior designer and we now think she 's the best we've ever used. She came to our home with a truck loaded with things we thought might work and all sorts of options. She brought 2 assistants with her and spent the entire day tirelessly making our home look beautiful. She would place items and if we didn't like she would try another option. So patient!
