If only we were living somewhere close then we would've returned this back. The cashier was also pretty much going from the left to the right counter and she herself got confused who was first in line as we were waiting a couple of minutes by the counter, she entertained the other side first.

And my husband and I both loved the spam brûlée musubi. The sweet brûlée on top of the musubi had a great contrast to the salty spam. My only negative is on hot days like this, there was no where to sit and enjoy the food. We ended up enjoying our meal inside Wendy's next door. And I read on instagram that day they had to close down because of the heat. I can only imagine how hot it must have been inside the metal container they are working in.

When I am in the mood, I know i can count on Blue Burro to cover my want of Mexican food from day to night.

On multiple occasions, going through the drive-through to order just a simple, single item--like an order of fries--results in being told to pull over and wait. Instead of getting what you ordered at the window, you are forced to sit in a parking spot for 5 to 10 minutes until an employee eventually walks the food out to your car. It completely defeats the entire purpose of going to a drive-through for convenience and speed. If I wanted to wait 10 minutes for a small order, I would have gone to a sit-down restaurant. Save yourself the headache and drive an extra few minutes to a different location. FYI, I had enough time to write this entire review while waiting for my large fry to come out in the drive-through.

Visually the fish sandwich wasn't up to par and they barely put any sauce on it or the extra pickles I asked for. To be fair that Flounder Fish Sandwich was tasty and while I do recommend that you try it make sure it's made correctly before you leave the lot. 8/10 Mango Lemonade Freeze This drink was soo good and very refreshing on an extremely hot day in California. 10/10 My take on this staff is limited to the drive up window young man he seemed nice enough even though my order was missing the extra tartar sauce and pickles. This neighborhood gets a bad rep it's not ghetto per se but the staff members can act ghetto from time to time which are two different things. There has never been an issue that would keep me away other than the sometimes rude staff. I'll stop by again this week go inside the restaurant and order the fish sandwich with extra sauce and pickles once more. I will upgrade this review if the next visit is better. , ; ). This establishment and staff are really stupid..the drive thru cashier instructs me to drive up after paying and she will hand me my food. Instead she decides to hand food to drivers behind me so she causes them to be impatient and they got frustrated with me for being idle, but I am waiting for my food. I start to get aggressively honked at by two drivers and they both come out and act hostile and one kicks my car and damages my door! I had to call the police and waste my entire night with a report..then since I couldn't eat the food..I asked for a refund and they deny me because I paid them with card so they only can give me credit for future purchase..like if I want to go back to that hole.. that girl is remedial and this fantasy burger is horrible...worst experience... read more

This is a great place if you want something off the beaten path. Food is not as greasy compared to their equivalents at a big chain place. It's cheap, quick and a good bargain for your money. If you want gourmet go somewhere else though. Our favorite dishes are the ham and eggs breakfast as well as the chorizo and eggs with rice and beans and green salsa. They are famous for their pastrami sandwiches, so my wife, our neighbor friend, and I took the short drive to this one location in Long Beach. The pastrami was really good. We've passed by this location many, many times, and I mistakenly grouped it with the many other male name hamburger walk-ups in Long Beach, but owned by Vietnamese (the name 'Tam' was supposedly just made up, to represent an easy-to-remember name for the restaurant). So we planned a Friday lunch date (bit before noon). There was a long drive-thru line which blocked parking spots, but my wife patiently found a good spot for easier exiting. It's a typical fast food set-up, with ordering and paying (CC accepted) done first, with the food being picked up once your name is called. It was busy, with most people getting pick-up or drive-thru, thus took a little bit of time for our food to be prepared, but was nicely served fresh and hot (which makes a huge difference for greasy food like this). Pastrami Sandwich Special ($19.99) - the thinly sliced beef was stacked high, on a non-descript hoagie roll, with a few pickle slices and cheese to dress (so the flavor of the meat was important here, and I really liked it). They must go through a lot of these, since the pre-sliced meat was still juicy, not having sit around being kept warm. The combo came with really good thick cut fries and a soda (Coke products, assuming no refills). We ended up splitting the sandwich, and half of it would have been enough to fill me up. I understand now why this version of pastrami would be a good choice for a burrito or to top fries. Patty Melt ($5.79) - this was OK, a good way to cheaply satisfy hunger pangs. It had been griddled well, to give the hearty bread a satisfying crunch...but it was really oily (mainly from the oil used to grill). Fried Chicken Sandwich ($11.99) - my wife like this, with it using the same soft bread as the pastrami, but this dressed with fresh lettuce and tomatoes. They use pounded breaded chicken patties, definitely the way it was made in the 80's before Chick-fil-e became the norm. There is a web site for Tam's Burgers, but it is for the restaurant chain located in the Inland Empire (split off from this original branch in 1992). There is no web site for the original Tam's locations in LA County (which means any search on the web for official pages, only brings back the IE ones), but watchers of the 2022 Super Bowl would have noticed a two story replica of their 21st store at the half time show. Each store is semi-autonomous, with this being the only location in Long Beach, named #44.

Also I did not like the fact that when I asked to speak to a manager, she said what is the problem. Then I had to ask her are you the manager, then she said yes. I asked for her name and she mumbled something. But my real issue is now the overall experience. The lack of concern and the way she handled my complaint. Now you might be thinking I'm just a critic. But that is not true. I have changed my opinion about this place due to my findings. Also it is such an inconvenience to leave my job, drive back down there. When I don't like how they handled the situation in the first place. But if you want to continue to eat there. That is your business, but I'm not a happy camper with my experience.
