I had a really great review of Sally doing my hair but just a few days later my hair broke off in the front and it is so dry & brittle...she pulled my highlights all the way thru even though they were already blonde which is a a huge mistake...my hair broke off almost completely in the front luckily I can cover it up sort of, I hesitated writing this review but she also overcharged me!!, Don't go here or your hair will be a mess, it will take me 2 years before my hair grows out again & I tipped her great for what?? Ruining my hair??? read more

Fantastic Sams - Haircut and full Highlights by Jenny - Hair Salons Near Me - Brea, California

I've been meaning to write a review for awhile. Fitst, let me tell you, honestly I was a little hesitant to have my hair done at fantastic Sam's. But, I read so many good reviews about it that I decided to take a chance. Sally, the owner cut, color and highlighted my hair. I wanted ash-brown highlights. (Showed her some pictures) Everything was great. Once I was home and also due to my husband's reaction I started to realize my highlighted hair was moreee ash than brown. I decided to go back and explain my situation to Sally, before making a review. I was a little apprehensive. I was pleasant surprise of her reaction. She immediately agree to tone down to get the right shade and did not charge me anything to fix it. The best part was her attitude, she was happy to please the customer and that's what I called CUSTOMER SERRLVICE! Probably, they don't use top of the line products, but I strongly recommend them. Give Sally a try and I promise you won't be disappointed. Thank you Sally and I'll see you soon. read more

I love this FS! I bring my daughters and I come here. All the ladies are great! I met Sally and my hair was a mess. It was dry, gray, and my color was blah. I told her I want something but didn't know what to do she said let me brighten you up and do a Change on your hair color. She listened to my suggestions but let me tell you how talented Sally is. She did a ombré , conditioned and trimmed my hair. I was so thankful to how she made my hair look. She just knows what she is doing. She gives a great shampoo too. when I come here she makes me feel pampered and beautiful! I walk out w confidence. This place is a gem not like other Fantastic Sams. If you want Ombré/Biolage or love on your hair you will love Sally and this FS. read more

came in for a haircut, I asked for long layers with face framing, Ashley did amazing. she listened to everything i wanted and did it perfectly. she washed, blow dried, and styled my hair and it came out sooo pretty. it looks so healthy and soft, probably the best it's looked in a while. the face framing is perfect and the layers fall so nicely. she was super sweet the whole time and it was quick too. 10/10 experience and haircut/style for sure. definitely recommend. read more

Good service prices a little too high .. maybe should add a student discount for a limited time to bring in more customers.

Cathi N. is a wonderful stylist!! I always come out with the best color and cut. And she is such a lovely, kind person. Always positive.

I love Sally. She knows what I like and what I need. Can't wait to see her again. It's been a while since my last visit. The Covid lock out made me wait way too long. read more

Hair cut ended up fine, but nothing special. However when I arrived I noticed their sign advertising a "senior price". I asked for it and the lady at the front told me it was for customers over 65 (as is the usual). I stated I was over 65 and offered my ID. She then quickly told me it was only for men, not for women. Their sign didn't say anything about women not included in discount. It was obvious that she was looking for any reason to not give the senior pricing or she would have led with the "only for men" excuse. Judging by other comments on this page, these tricks to get more money out of the customers are common at this location (maybe at ALL Fantastic Sams). To these proprietors...I do believe bait and switch is illegal so you may want to clean up your act. It makes customers wonder what else you are misrepresenting. If nothing else, it is tacky and unprofessional. I won't be back. read more

Highway robbery for a hair job that came out like it's been chewed by a dog over and over at the Brea location. Wasted $$$ big time on a terrible job that looked like nothing was done. Sloppy water and chemical sprayed into eyes and face where could have been used care and avoided. Will never return to this location even if there is no beauty salon left in the world !!! read more

I have had my hair cut at this salon in the past with few issues. I stopped in there yesterday and requested my usual "just an inch off the bottom" blunt cut. Cathi proceeded to blow dry and flat iron after the cut. Some stylists flat iron me after to make sure the cut is straight. When it came time to check out, she tried to charge me for a SENIOR CUT & STYLE which is $10 more than the usual. I am not a senior and there was no "styling" done. I've been very disappointed with the pricing at this salon. A "woman's" cut is $2 more....why? A man was getting his hair cut while I was there and it was definitely more work (razor, shampoo and cut). I never get shampooed and never ask for anything other than the inch or two off the bottom of my short straight hair. I realize costs are going up everywhere but the pricing structure at this salon needs to be re-evaluated. read more

I had an appointment with Sally for a balayage. I think she needs to work on paying more attention to detail and checking her work. She was very rushed and I get that it was busy that day but still. I like my hair at the salon but going home I noticed a small bleached section was not a blended transition with the root. Also I wanted some baby lights at the root like the reference photo I showed her. She was accommodating and asked me to come in person so she could take a look at it. Sally said she thought my hair looked good and my thing is I asked for a specific look so it's what the customer is asking for not your opinion of what you like. Anyways, she said that sometimes trying to fix it will make it worse. Umm what? I stood my ground and told her I want it to look like the reference photo. She "fixed it" when in reality it looked further from what I asked for. My money pieces were bleached much more dramatic than the initial result when I only wanted baby lights added to root area. She didn't fix the unblended bleached transition I had come for her to fix. I won't be coming back here again. Oh and my hair is breaking off at the roots so yeah there's that too. read more

I was in desperate need of color and cut. I decided to try Fantastic Sams since it is close to home and they are taking all the COVID precautions. I had gone to same stylist for years in another city but the salon was not really following safety protocols. Sally was my stylist and I left feeling like she had given me a total makeover just with her color and styling expertise. I hadn't planned to, but I had the "works"... Color (root touch up and all over color), highlights, cut and style. I am so thrilled with my new "look" and Sally was a talented and masterful stylist. She was professional, courteous and quick. I've already scheduled my next appointment with her! Thank you Sally and Fantastic Sams for my stellar experience!! read more

I used to go to a different fantastic sams but it closed down . I wanted to give this fantastic Sams a try because I have wanting to dye my hair for a while . Great service and haircut. I made an appointment last minute and was assisted right away. My hair looks great without those dead ends! On a side note- while I was being assisted a young man was being very rude and disrespectful towards his stylist and other staff. The staff involved did a great job of de-escalating the situation while still being respectful. Even though it would have been understandable if they weren't lol. Very impressive. I will definitely be coming back and I hope this man didn't ruin your night. Thanks! read more

After calling around to several different salons for a same day service with no luck, I walked into Fantastic Sams. Sally greeted me and said she can provide the color and look my daughter saw on Pinterest. My daughter and I are so happy with how her hair turned out! Not only is Sally talented and great at what she does but she's also caring. She kept checking in on my daughter (who is 11 yrs. old) while she was under the dryer and asking her if she's ok and to let her know if she's causing any discomfort while she was combing her hair. As well as checking in several times to make sure she's overall comfortable. To top it off the atmosphere was inviting and high energy. The other stylist were funny and full of positive energy. The picture does the color no justice. In the light and in person the colors are so vibrant. Thank you Sally! We will be back. read more

I have been coming here for the past 2 years and have been seeing Sally! I have shown her pictures of what I like and she has been giving me the exact colors from the photos! She really cares and makes sure you get what you want out of your style. She is super sweet and takes her time for you. All the workers are super nice and want to make sure you are having a great experience and are being taken care of. If Nancy is around be prepared to laugh she is very funny and so sweet as well! During Covid they sanitize the seats after every person, everyone is seated with an empty seat in between, and masks at all times. Definitely make your appointments with Sally but keep in mind weekends can be busy and they do take walk ins so make sure you aren't in a rush to get out and give yourself plenty of time to be taken care of. read more

I am pissed - this lady insisted on treating my hair with some rinse - I asked if it would cost more and she implied it would cost 25 instead of 23. I had to sit under the dryer which made my scalp itch. She then charged me $53! Never again! Need to find a new place now - never going back there again! Feel totally ripped off now... Sally literally gave me life. I had recently messed up my hair, as I always do, by trying to do it myself at home. My normal hairstylist who is the only one I trust with my hair, relocated so I searched and found this place, and Sally's rave reviews. I made an appointment and she accommodated me on short notice. I was slightly nervous just because only one person has touched my hair in about 8 years. She literally worked a miracle on my hair. It was disgusting brownish greenish, pink dye underneath, all kinds of stuff going on...dead and stringy and greasy and I honestly just have hated my hair for the past month. And now, the color is amazing, and my hair has life again! It's soft and manageable. I couldn't be happier with the job she did, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE my hair now!! I will definitely be back. My daughter likes this place so I agree to take her but this time wasn't to hot. So I take her to get cut on the Thursday before her birthday party and tell Kathy I will bring her Saturday morning for her to put her hair up in a pretty bun or braid so her hair stays up in the jumper. So Thursday she charges me 25 for a cut n style witch she did no style so I thought that paid for Saturday to but no Saturday she charged my wife another 30$ so that's 55$ and I tipped 5 then 10 so a total of 70$ and look at her hair at her 5 th birthday party even her friend was mad........ my daughters hair was not braided like I asked and on the wall it say kids cut and wash 16$ and I got charged 25$ forgive me for thinking I already paid for a style. read more
