Hate to do this but avoid this place for haircuts. Tried to save a little money on my little boy's haircuts because the kids' hair cut places are getting a little steep. The lady who was cutting my son's hair literally refused to give him a shorter cut because she said it doesn't suit the shape of his head. He gets the same haircut I was asking for all the time and he looks great!! It may have been a language barrier. The haircut lasted two weeks. Anyway, we went back to the pricey kids' cut place and he got a great haircut about a month ago and he's just getting to where he needs a haircut again. read more

Probably one of the worst hair jobs I've ever had. Great staff, great service, clean place, but terrible hair stylists. I wanted to dye my hair a darn Auburn with highlights to bring out the color and have my hair styled with very loose curls to get that beach hair or right out of bed look. What I got was dark brown base, brown all over color, with very light brown highlights. And my hair was styled with big, very wavy curls that got worse and messy as the day went on, so I finally had to put it all up in a ponytail. I'm going to get a refund because this is not at all what I wanted. Don't get me wrong, the style and colors were great if I had wanted it but it's literally a brown shade with no auburn in it at all. read more

Sally wants to do more chemical treatments on your hair even if it will damage your hair. She doesn't care. My hair got so damaged it started to break off. She said the more treatment won't damage your hair, but it did. I felt she wanted to make more money. read more

Sally does a great job with color, cut and styling! She is fast and works with my busy schedule. I prefer to make appointments in advance, but she is able to take care of walk-in clients time permitting. read more

Unfortunately I have to give one star. The stylist (I must say ) was Fantastic her name is Loan Le And if she goes anywhere else I will be a loyal customer to her, she is the best. However I will never go to this salon again. I go to get my hair blown dry once or twice a week. Loan was not in today, so the manager shampooed me. I told her I just got my brows tattooed and please not to get water on them. She gave me the sloppiest shampoo with water splattering everywhere. She had me move to three different chairs which is no big deal I understand they were busy. Once I went to pay, she rudely and loudly said we've been under charging you and it is more today and she charged me five dollars more. Now... it's not the five dollars that's really not much in today's world ! However, being in management she should know that the proper way to handle that is not scream out we've been under charging you but to simply say next time you come in it's going to be more, Because you have a lot of hair. I had to under tip the stylist because that five dollars was going towards her tip. Manager, you need some management training, you lost a good customer (who tips 40% to your stylists)over the way you handled getting that extra five dollars today Shame on you! I have been going to this Fantastic Sams for about 4 years. My son and I go in for a haircut at least every other week and have always been greeted by name and welcomed. They have always been friendly and provided a quick good quality cut. The time taken on the shampoo and scalp massage alone is worthwhile ! I would highly recommend this location and the staff. read more

Went with my mother in law to get area highlights for myself and a perm for her and I have to state that the customer service was just superb! I appreciated how they took their time to perfect my highlights and their politeness that their staff demonstrated they made us feel like returning customers. I was in a car accident and unable to wash and blow out my hair. Headed over to Fantastic Sams in Brea expecting a basic and somewhat affordable service. I will never go back. Liz was my stylist. I explained to her I had super fine and super curly hair. She proceeded to tell me no, you have wavy hair. I politely asked her to make sure that the hair would be smooth and not frizzy. She proceeded to continue to talk a lot and seemed to distract me from whatever it was she was trying to do. She basically put two dollops of mousse in my hair instead of any type of straightening or Smoothing Treatment. She didn't even bother to come at through. When it came to straightening with a straight iron she basically pulled my hair through and it felt like my hair was breaking off with every slide of the iron. When I left, my boyfriend took a picture and I thought I would be pleased. When I saw the picture my hair looked dry, brittle on the ends and ready to just break off. $45 later I am completely disappointed and will never recommend this location or vendor to anyone. read more

TERRIBLE. TERRIBLE. TERRIBLE. Been going to Sally for over a year. The kids cuts are ok. Had a couple times where I asked hair to be cut straight across and she tapered it instead. Oh, well... Just a kids cut. Today Sally (stylist) asked if the hair should be tapered along the side. I said no. She did it anyway because she thought "it would look good". I specifically asked for the bangs to be long enough to go behind the ear. She cut them significantly shorter, just below the eyebrows. She also decided, without asking, to change the entire bottom from a blunt cut to tapered. I also asked her to just barely trim the bottom to remove split ends because my daughter is growing out her hair. Over two inches were removed! What in the world?!?!?!? I now have a crying 10 year old that is devastated. I absolutely DO NOT recommend this place. We have used other stylists at this location and specifically went to Sally, as she was the "best". Their best is absolutely unacceptable. read more

Just went here for the first time yesterday and was glad I did. They provided fast and friendly service and did a great job on my hair.

I started getting my hair cut and colored here by Sally when I moved to California. The salon is very clean and all the ladies are very nice. Since I started coming here I have never been happier with my hair. I can always count on the color being amazing whether I'm going with a natural blonde or adding a pink hilight. I am in love with the Chi products they use and have healthier hair than I have ever had. So worth the drive from south Orange County. read more

I have been going to Fantastic Sams for several years with my son and daughter. They have always done a "Fantastic" job!

Well I have been going there for years along with my two boys and now I am done. My boys have bad cuts and even have had them redone the next day so they don't want to go back. I have had two very bad cuts in a row now so I won't be going back. I am not picky, but when my wife says to me it's not even a man's haircut, that turns my ears red! I hope Sally rights the ship soon because I really believe I am not alone. read more

I have been getting my hair done by Sally since 2001 in HB. My boyfreind recommended her and I've been hooked since. She's AWESOME! My then boyfriend, now husband still sees her too. I even take our 3 yr old daughter to either Sally or Jenny to get her haircuts. They are always so welcoming and accomodating for us. I don't recommend anyone to go to this salon! The first time i went for a trim they charged me $15.00 and Janneth did a horrible job, along with that she kept talking about how horrible my hair was in texture and was not satisfy with service and the cut. So I decided to give this place a second chance over the weekend, because I like giving businesses a second chance, i went in and I was not only charge $35.00 for a trim but the hair cut was awful, she cut my hair all uneven from one side, and double charged for a simple trim.. Honestly don't recommend this place for anyone who wants a simple trim or hair cut period..... read more

I was just in a for a haircut and Jenny was the person who cut my hair. I have had good experiences here in the past, but today I received very poor service. It seemed like Jenny was in a bad mood and was in a rush to get me in and out of there. She took short-cuts that other people wouldn't normally take and was rude to me in our very limited conversation. I told her I thought I'd like it a bit shorter than she had cut it, and she said with an attitude "Why don't you wait until I am done with your haircut." Then she did a very rushed job washing my hair, did not wash out the cut hair very well at all, and ended up getting a bunch of water in my ear, down my shirt and on my shirt. She did not apologize for this. Then she did a quick spray of something on my hair and said she was done. No care, no taking pride in what she does, no going out off the way to make me have a good experience. I may not be back here because of this experience. read more
