Usually not the type of person to leave reviews but I just wanted to say fantastic is a go to for me and my boyfriend. Love getting the swiss mushroom burger with avocado and a large fries. BOMB and never misses. Don't even get me started on the fry portions. Phew! The pricing is decent but the food is always great. I wanted to personally give a shout out to Kaylin (Hope I spelled your name right) But she always super sweet and has great customer service. Management please make sure to take care of her! THE OWNER'S SON STOLE MY PERSONAL PROPERTY. I am sharing this experience for educational purposes and as a warning that when your lost items are turned into staff it is not considered safely stored. My friend is a long-time customer of Fantastic Cafe and is familiar with the business, staff, and family in which owns this restaurant. I am absolutely disgusted by the business practices of this establishment. I ordered to go at Fantastic Cafe with a friend on the Friday evening of 1/7/2022. Immediately, I noticed there was a young boy working the grill who was NO OLDER THAN 14 years old. Of course, I was concerned for the child because of child labor laws and the thin line between helping grandpa and child labor. We promptly left after we received our food. A few hours later, we realized that my friend has two phones (A work iPhone X and a personal iPhone 6) that were missing. I immediately called Fantastic Cafe and the little boy timidly answered the phone. I couldn't make out what he said initially but it sounded like a confirmation that there were two phones turned in, but quickly retracts it and says only one iPhone was turned in. We arrive back at Fantastic cafe and retrieve only one of my friend's phones (conveniently the iPhone 6). Once we were home, we were able to track his work phone, and low and behold, it's saying it is still at Fantastic Cafe. It's important to keep in mind the timeline for this story. We arrived back at Fantastic Cafe after 10 pm. They close at 10 pm, therefore, the phone was still in the establishment after the doors were locked. We knock on the door and they let us in to look around our booth. The phone is not there. However, Find My iPhone is still saying that at the current moment that the iPhone is in Fantastic Cafe. We eventually cut our losses and head home. At 10:41 we receive a notification from Find My iPhone that someone turned on his phone at 10:41 PM in a 1.2 Million dollar home located in La Mirada (please refer to the screenshot). Therefore, someone would have to move the iPhone out of Fantastic Cafe after closing to a house about 25 minutes away. Now, what adult living in a 1.2 million dollar home would steal an iPhone. Exactly. It's a child that did not anticipate us tracking phone. The next morning we drove to the address and knocked on the door in order to retrieve the iPhone peacefully. However, no one answered and we inevitably called the police who agreed and confirmed that there is no way to deny that the iPhone is not in that home and tried knocking on the door as well. The police left a notice on the door informing them about our visit. We then went to Fantastic Cafe and asked to speak to the owner. We are informed he won't be in the restaurant until 12 pm and we should return then. My friend arrived back at 2 pm and the grandpa of the boy who was working was hiding from in the back from my friend. He called the police in order to gain access to the video recordings in the restaurant. Once the police arrive, the grandpa emerged and CONFIRMS THE ADDRESS IN WHICH THE PHONE WAS LOCATED AT 10:41 PM TO BE HIS OWN! He calls some family members and assured my friend that he can collect the phone at 8 pm tonight 1/8/2022. Unfortunately for us, the story does not end there. My friend returns and asks to pick up his phone at 5 pm instead because 8 pm is late for him. The manager informs him they in fact do not have the iPhone despite Find My iPhone claiming it to be at the Grandfathers home and the grandfather confirming that is his address. At this point, we are exhausted and have just accepted that the owner's son (or someone in the kid's grandfather's home) is responsible for my friend's phone being stolen. If the grandchild is in fact responsible for the stolen iPhone the parents, grandfather, and manager have done ABSOLUTELY nothing to return his iPhone to us despite being it being confirmed to be in the grandfather's house. The most concerning part of this story is how our phone could end up at the exact address of the grandfather of the little boy who was working and get confirmation of that, but still, have the grandfather and manager say they will not be returning my friend's phone. In essence, just know if you lose anything of value in Fantastic Cafe, it might end up in the owner's house and despite knowing it is there, you will never get it back. read more

We're here once every other week while we dry our laundry next door. It sucks that our dryer broke but in hindsight we discovered Fantastic Cafe. The ongoing special is 2 cheeseburgers for $6. Totally good value! I always get the Fantastic Fries with the burgers. They are like In n Out animal style fries but with BACON! So yummmm! The thousand island sauce inside the burger and on the fries is sweet, very Asian like. That's probably why I like it, lol. Service is fast and everyone is usually pleasant. The only thing I'd stay away from are the milkshakes. I can't put my finger on it but it's just not the best. It tastes like milk (obviously) but not like ice cream and it's not very cold. It's just odd. Shameful because who doesn't like a good milkshake with their burger! Their BLTs are also pretty good. They fry the bacon fresh on the spot so it's delish. read more

I get so mad every time I come here because either the wait is ridiculously long, they don't pick up the phone for no reason so I have to waste time on a time crunch, they get my order wrong, they forget to give me a part of my order or the worker is plain rude. I'm no Karen so I don't act out to the workers so this is my only outlet of frustration. I've been waiting 30 minutes (not including waiting in line) for my TAKEOUT food and God they are moving so slowly. This place is nothing compared to Fantastic Burgers (the one located at Cherry Ave), and I wouldn't recommend it. I ordered the steak and eggs, which tasted bland, and the steak was cheap with fat. The service was okay. The place is not clean and I had to clean the table myself. They would not refill the coffee machine and have us plastic utensils instead of metal ones. But what I always get is the Mediterranean chicken salad with Greek dressing !! It's soooo delicious !! Fantastic's will forever have a special place in my heart, because my family and I have been dining here for years! It's also where my high school polo teammates and I would go to before games/practices. We even have our photo framed on their wall! My brother and I love Fantastic's the most out of all our family members. And whenever we come here we get the same thing: the 2 cheeseburgers for $6 special and a side of chili cheese fries. It's inexpensive but fills us both up! Some other recommendations I have are: the DUI, their breakfast burritos, and their nachos. I've been going to Fantastic Cafe off and on for over 20 years now. I used to go get my haircut next door but I found a better one. I digress. Their burgers are HUGE. We are talking about Whopper size but even bigger than that. Shredded lettuce, chopped onions, tomato, secret sauce (looks like 1k island) rounds out the toppings. I usually get their double cheese burgers and I am full until dinner. Their portions are insane: onion rings and fried zucchini are serve in the largest take-out square containers and it is full. Their fries are seasoned overly-generously. I haven't asked, but I think you can ask for light seasoning or none at all. My parents love their omelets, to the Denver and the veggie. I probably get their french toast but I am still stuck on their burgers and onion rings. Plenty of seating, plethora of condiments like Tapatio, AI, and Sriracha, and clean seating. I wanted to update my review from three stars to two stars. First off I have my own washer and dryer at home , but when it comes to having to wash my dog's bed and our dirty rugs then that's when I get my laundry done next door to fantastic's. The only reason why I come to fantastic's cafe is because I'm waiting for my dirty linen to be washed. When I went back to the laundromat to go eat my fried mushrooms, I took a big bite of fried dirt and moss... I nearly barfed . When I separated the fried dirt it had legs and hair and I was going to flip out! Thankfully I was on my period and did not have energy to fight anybody... So I came back and I demanded that I keep the fried mushrooms and demanded that I get another order of something else , in which they kindly did for me. I got chili cheese fries instead and kept my fried moss in a bag... The chef and the young male cashier were great. The only face that I don't like to see is that elder Hispanic lady who has a very bad attitude for some reason... It's funny how she's kind to the other Hispanic people or white people. But when it comes to my order she gives me the nastiest attitude... So I give it right back... To be honest whenever she's not working. I'm so glad. To the Korean owner who is so very sweet and I've seen him before because he bought my kids sodas... Please hire someone else... You will have more customers. I will continue coming here only because again it's a hit or miss and I'm pretty sure they don't mean it... I have been coming to Fantastic Cafe for over 5+ years now and it is always a go-to breakfast, lunch or dinner spot for me and mine. Management changed a couple of years back and at first, I was extremely disappointed because my favorite cook and manager left to another location. The quality/quantity of food changed & not for the better. I think the new owners have made a great change recently and it is starting to feel like the old Fantastic Cafe. For breakfast, I suggest trying out their pancakes! Almost crepe-like & so airy delicious! For lunch try their enormous club sandwich with fries that are so bomb! For dinner, I suggest their chili cheese fries and hamburger special (2 burgers for around $6 / after 4 pm) Can't really go wrong with anything on their menu! Location- easy to find on the corner of Norwalk/166th; parking was easy; big dining area for this type of place; easy to read menu with many options Service- didn't take too long for our to go order to be finished; two Hispanic women taking orders and the older lady that took my order was fine but I noticed the younger one was much friendlier to customers Food- Greek salad was ok for the price...main problem was lack of feta cheese; cheese burgers were fine considering it was BOGO after 4 pm but not worth full price; fries were average; best thing we had was the fried zucchini...I liked that they were thin and crispy. read more

So much has changed with what used to be our favorite place for breakfast. I continue to give them business out of loyalty to the previous owner and his family. But now the food quality is so poor. Who would cook this for a childs breakfast and honestly expect them to eat it? Charcoal French toast, that was graciously covered with powder sugar & cinnamon (after we requested none be used) to hide the fact they charred our food. Sadly We won't be back. Fantastic Cafe is the home of my favorite fries. Service is okay, there's typically only one person working the register and another doing the cooking so food may take a while. Portions sizes are pretty big for what they charge (Note: They do charge for ranch) My favorite thing to get here are the fries but I've tried their chili cheese fries (better to eat it @ the restaurant) and bacon breakfast burrito ($8) which is incredibly huge & has spiced potatoes, eggs, cheese, etc. They also have a bunch of different specials throughout the week. read more

The cooks were having A LOUD racists conversation across the entire establishment about how they should only charge white people... They don't have a drive thru but I don't mind walking inside and eating there. It's very clean inside which I love and they serve the food to your table. Everything we order from here is delicious. The service started out bad, and I should have probably trusted my initial feeling. The cashier was not helpful and was rude. I proceeded and ordered a breakfast burrito, and it was by far the worst breakfast burrito I have ever had. The cheese inside the burrito was ice cold and wet, and there was a ton of it. I scraped the cheese out into a wet heaping pile on my plate and contemplated having them remake the burrito. Please clean your big coffee pot in the middle. It has leftover grind pouring out and since it never has been washed properly I can taste the leftover coffee from prior night or two. It's no longer fresh no matter how much fresh pot of coffee your make. read more

This is my second time here in forever but I was ready upfront to order and waiting as I saw the cashier took out a bag of fries that were already cooked but cold from the bag that was almost ready I think she was waiting for the burger but I saw her after a long wait she threw the cold cook fries back in the fryer with other fries and fried them together and right out to put more salt and give them to customer.
