A staple for all indie comic lovers - the cashier was also very friendly and lovely to chat with.

The Homie got a Tshirt (3/19/17) Georgetown is so cool!

A must destination in Seattle's Georgetown neighborhood if you are a fan of urban art, comic books, graphic novels, anthologies, 'zines, and related swag. This is also all inclusive with items for the kiddos, also a separate area for the adults 18-over publications, and everything in between. Fantagraphics has been an indie company since 1976 and this location functions both as a bookstore and art gallery. Often there are artists openings and receptions, which is great if you are a fan and want to meet the writer/ illustrator in person.

They have an enormous selection of comics, zines, graphic novels, and more. Looking for the latest premiere titles from DC / Marvel / Image / etc.? They got you. Looking for some hot new manga? They got you. Maybe you want some fresh, totally unique indie publication that none of your friends have heard of yet? They. Got. You. But their crazy-diverse selection isn't even what makes Outsider a truly great shop; it's their staff and the vibe they've created. Navigating geek culture can sometimes be a treacherous (gatekeeping and elitism abound). But not at Outsider. All geeks seem to be truly welcome: from hardcore fans, to casual readers, to absolute noobs looking for a place to begin exploring printed media, Outsider's staff will be there to help people find what they're looking for. Outsider is an absolute gem.

They have so much more than just comic books. They have lots of board games. There's a huge collection of posters and figurines. The comic books are separated in sections by genre. There are also many types of playing cards, pins and collectibles as well. One of the unique items at this store was they had the scripts of many popular movies and TV shoes. I saw the script of pilot episode of GOT, TBBT, Friends and among movies there was Batman, Harry Porter, LOTR, Hunger Games, Twin Peaks and hundreds of more of them. I found a Marvel poster that I liked a lot. It was reasonably priced for $15. Checkout process was quick with assistance from very friendly staff. If you are comic fan, this is an absolutely must visit place for anyone visiting the Pike Place market.

They have all sorts of collectibles, you name it, and if it's popular, it's probably here. Comics/manga, collectable buttons, stickers, magnets, Figures, Funko's, mugs, posters of movies, posters of anime, wall scrolls and tons more crammed into this little shop. What I thought was cool was the Cardboard stand ups of Star Wars characters just outside the shop. That is something I don't see often and was kind hoping someone would buy one so that I can ask them how they planned to carry it out without it being damaged. That all said there are snags about Golden Age Collectables. A collectable shop to me is usually in sort of a lower traffic area, or a mall at most. Golden Age here is in a very high traffic area, It's Pike Place after all - a tourist destination, and the store is not particularly big, neither are the aisles. It was hard to stop and look at look at anything without being in someone's way. So, the browsing experience was not great here. My friend got major icks when someone was trying to pass her in a crowded aisle... and was let's just say was a bit inappropriate about it. As a result, she wanted to wait outside for the remainder of the visit. I was not far behind due to how cramped it is. I'd say if you have in mind something you want here, check it out, but if you don't do well in tight spaces and lots of people, exercise discretion.

At the time of purchase, I specifically asked about the return policy and was told that returning books would be "no problem" as long as they remained unopened in their original plastic wrapping. When I later returned to exchange or return three of the books 10 days later, I was told that I could not do so because I did not have my receipt. This requirement was never mentioned when I asked about returns. As a longtime member, my purchase is documented through my membership account, so it is disappointing that this record could not be used to verify the transaction. I find this level of customer service unacceptable. If a receipt is required for returns, customers should be clearly informed of that at the time of purchase, especially when they specifically ask about the return policy.
