Very small used bookstore. He actually got a couple of preowned copies of the new book Atmosohere, but they sold out within an hour. There are lots and lots of great finds though.

What an awesome shop inside the pike market. Books floor to ceiling. Great vibes. New and used books ranging from comics to manga to fiction and non fiction. They've got it all. Employee working was helpful in finding the sections I was looking for. Great prices. Worth stopping out!

Make sure to come to Seattle with room in your suitcase for books!

This is my favorite used bookstore ever. Your visit to Pike Place Market is not complete without combing though the treasures here. Great selection of books. The owner is knowledgeable. Such a pleasure!

I wouldn't say it's the most well-organized bookstore in the world but in a way, it worked out well because it made me really hunt for the nuggets--and there ARE nuggets--here. It's small but they've got some great stuff. If you love used books at reasonable prices, you should swing by.

Enjoyed this bookstore! Friendly service, great selection of books. Loved all of the used books, great condition and great price!

This store has so many literary treasures to explore! You definitely need time to be able to get through all of it. All genres are available and the prices are great! Customer service is top notch and very knowledgeable about the products on hand. It's actually amazing!! Why buy new when you can buy depreciated and in good condition!

This is a nostalgic used bookshop. There were plenty of books to choose from. However, I found that some books were just stacked atop each other making them not all that accessible. Also, we weren't very well accommodated for what we were looking for. The staff seemed a little unapproachable. Nonetheless, if you're into this type of classic used bookstore, you may really like it.

    Love the social "science" label.

He also steered me into the directions of books that were absolutely hysterical. From "The Gas That We Pass", to "Everybody Poops", to perhaps my all-time favorite of "All My Friends Are Dead." I paid $27 more for the fantastic customer service that I received from the owner much more than the actual contents of the book that I purchased. Certainly one of Pike Place Market's vendor staples that I will absolutely return to on my next visit.

Not many will share their favorite poems with you from memory! When a friend and I first walked in, we remarked on a Shel Silverstein display, and the owner told us the story of the author's last published book. We quoted some of our favorite pieces, and he gave suggestions for new reads. Despite knowing I was going to walk around for the rest of the day, I bought a book, because I wanted to support this business and I trusted the recommendation. The atmosphere is cozy and friendly. They have an amazing selection of used paperback fiction and the pricing is great. Inventory balances old and new, classic and under-appreciated works. A must-visit!

They have been at this current corner spot at 1st and S Jackson since February 2021. This bibliophile clearly has been very late to the party! I stopped in during Independent Booksellers Day (4/25/26) and it was packed full of people. Warmly acknowledged upon entering and later when departing. I briefly browsed the shelves. There's a decent selection, as well as, other merch available for purchase. What really caught my attention were the high curved ceilings. It gave a bright, airy feeling despite feeling a bit cramped with the current capacity onsite. My previous indie booksellers in Pioneer Square were Elliott Bay Book Store (moved to Capitol Hill) and the treasure trove owned by the late David Ishii. It was good to be reacquainted again with Arundel Books, a mainstay in Seattle since 1995.

They have an awesome section dedicated to Seattle-specific books, including some really unique titles I hadn't come across before. Studio Ghibli merch area right upon entering the shop, of course, of course. Decent selection of pens (I got a couple). Since it is a small shop, the aisles are a little cramped. Kinda stuffy too, especially on the second level. Polite staff!

At the time of purchase, I specifically asked about the return policy and was told that returning books would be "no problem" as long as they remained unopened in their original plastic wrapping. When I later returned to exchange or return three of the books 10 days later, I was told that I could not do so because I did not have my receipt. This requirement was never mentioned when I asked about returns. As a longtime member, my purchase is documented through my membership account, so it is disappointing that this record could not be used to verify the transaction. I find this level of customer service unacceptable. If a receipt is required for returns, customers should be clearly informed of that at the time of purchase, especially when they specifically ask about the return policy.
