Well well well, Seattle -- we officially have our very own romance bookstore! Complete with fun novelties, cute merchandise, and thoughtful gifts to pair with your book (or gift on their own), this place is already a total vibe. From the moment I walked in, I was warmly greeted and could truly feel the love in the air. This shop is going to do so well. That said... we've gotta spread the word! Plan a girls' trip, make it part of a Seattle day adventure, and don't miss this stop. It's such an exciting addition to the community. Bonus: during the First Thursday Art Walk, this is the perfect cozy place to pop into -- whether it's cold, rainy, or one of those rare sunny Seattle days. I met some incredible women while I was there, and you can tell people are already showing up just for this spot -- they have a strong and growing following. I couldn't leave empty-handed and grabbed a Christmas coloring book (which I already know won't last me long ). Such a special gem added to Pioneer Square. Go check it out!

Fantastic staff who checked in about if I was looking for something specific or just browsing and was very friendly. The store is so cute and the decor and set up is really good. The value is very good compared to what I think they could be charging as an indie bookstore. I will definitely be back!

Love, love, loved this bookstore. First time going and was really impressed with the selection, merchandise, space and staff. They had a space to relax and read, cute chairs to sit in and look at books. Book prices didn't see unreasonable. Apparently we missed author Lauren Blakely by minutes.

If you're even remotely bookish, romantic, or just need a serotonin boost after a long day in the city, this place is your new refuge. Walking in feels like stepping into the private library of your dreamier, pinker alter ego; all soft seating, warm lighting, and curated shelves that make you want to sit down and fall in love with a book (or three). They really understood the assignment: cozy without being cluttered, aesthetic without trying too hard, and intentional in every detail. The "Blind Date With a Book" wall? Genius. The little theater room in the back with the projected movie playing? Adorable. Honestly? Five stars feels too easy. This is a place you come back to when you need grounding, inspiration, or just a reminder that joy exists in the small, well curated corners of downtown Seattle. Welcome to the neighborhood, Beguiled Books. We needed you.

This bookstore is so cute and pink! All things romance and book related merch. There's also an upper floor with pink seating area and games

The store is also super aesthetic and had great options for different genres not just romance.

He also steered me into the directions of books that were absolutely hysterical. From "The Gas That We Pass", to "Everybody Poops", to perhaps my all-time favorite of "All My Friends Are Dead." I paid $27 more for the fantastic customer service that I received from the owner much more than the actual contents of the book that I purchased. Certainly one of Pike Place Market's vendor staples that I will absolutely return to on my next visit.

Not many will share their favorite poems with you from memory! When a friend and I first walked in, we remarked on a Shel Silverstein display, and the owner told us the story of the author's last published book. We quoted some of our favorite pieces, and he gave suggestions for new reads. Despite knowing I was going to walk around for the rest of the day, I bought a book, because I wanted to support this business and I trusted the recommendation. The atmosphere is cozy and friendly. They have an amazing selection of used paperback fiction and the pricing is great. Inventory balances old and new, classic and under-appreciated works. A must-visit!

They have been at this current corner spot at 1st and S Jackson since February 2021. This bibliophile clearly has been very late to the party! I stopped in during Independent Booksellers Day (4/25/26) and it was packed full of people. Warmly acknowledged upon entering and later when departing. I briefly browsed the shelves. There's a decent selection, as well as, other merch available for purchase. What really caught my attention were the high curved ceilings. It gave a bright, airy feeling despite feeling a bit cramped with the current capacity onsite. My previous indie booksellers in Pioneer Square were Elliott Bay Book Store (moved to Capitol Hill) and the treasure trove owned by the late David Ishii. It was good to be reacquainted again with Arundel Books, a mainstay in Seattle since 1995.

At the time of purchase, I specifically asked about the return policy and was told that returning books would be "no problem" as long as they remained unopened in their original plastic wrapping. When I later returned to exchange or return three of the books 10 days later, I was told that I could not do so because I did not have my receipt. This requirement was never mentioned when I asked about returns. As a longtime member, my purchase is documented through my membership account, so it is disappointing that this record could not be used to verify the transaction. I find this level of customer service unacceptable. If a receipt is required for returns, customers should be clearly informed of that at the time of purchase, especially when they specifically ask about the return policy.

Studio Ghibli merch area right upon entering the shop, of course, of course. Decent selection of pens (I got a couple). The second level is dedicated to English-translated manga books as well as anime/video game art books and knick-knacks (sorta all in random assortment.....gotta do some thorough browsing). Since it is a small shop, the aisles are a little cramped. Kinda stuffy too, especially on the second level. Polite staff!
