I went here with a friend and we had our littles with us. It's awesome that they offer high chairs! As far as seating goes, there's a lot of booths and a few tables to sit at. I ordered the mala beef shank dry noodles (3 stars spicy) with tomato and egg. It was deliciously packed with flavor and spices! The noodles were perfectly chewy and the beef was so tender! The quality of the noodles and the ample fillings in the Xiaolongbao are the standout stars of this establishment, 5+. However, I can only assume that most patrons are assumed to be regulars so the basics of welcoming you in and explaining menu and ordering protocols require getting the attention of the server. As it was our first time visiting, the menu off of the QR code was confusing as noodle options show at the top "let's meet our noodles" with $0, followed by menu items with prices. All can be selected and added to your cart however we found out later that they are only there to show you noodle options for the dishes below. There is ample seating, however the bathroom is gender neutral and could do with a deep cleaning and a sign that asks people to put the seat down after use. Perhaps take-out next time. Updating my previous review. Fang's has a remodeled interior that is sleeker, colder, less friendly, less funky, and less playful than it was when it opened. The colorful wall murals are gone. The bowls used to serve noodle dishes are now HUGE and DEEP, leading some to say portion sizes are not generous. That is not correct. They are plentiful. You're just getting your noodles in a gargantuan bowl. Service is acceptable, but just barely. It's often negligent. I ended up getting up to get my own new set of chopsticks when I had an issue with mine and some extra napkins because the server was too focused on playing with the TV stations (which they were two or three times while we were there). You order from a QR code and pay in advance--including tip--now. The food is still very good. Noodles are great. They've also gotten creative and gone a bit overboard there with the addition of colored noodles, which I did not try. Dumplings have gone creative too. The flavors are very good, and the dumplings are well made. The colors for the dumplings make a bit more sense than for the noodles, but I still find the whole idea a little much. Still solid noodle dishes. Maybe a tiny bit less balanced and authentic than when they opened, but the noodles are well made. Flavors are good. Will definitely return, but I just hope they don't eventually lose their way by trying to be different and trendy instead of reliable and fun. read more

Visited Fang's again when I was craving Chinese noodles and there were still a decent amount of tables left at 6:40 PM on a Wednesday. Parking is easy with a large shared lot and unlike some previous visits, it doesn't seem to have a wait even during peak dinner hours at least on weekdays. Overall, just a solid neighborhood spot for this genre of biang biang style noodles. Mala Beef Rib Dry Noodle is exactly how I remember it; the noodles are fantastic, thin but have an amazing chew to them still. The beef rib is very tender and the cabbage adds a nice bite to the dish overall. Personally, the sauce was and is the weakest link; there isn't a super strong mala flavor that numbs the tongue in spite of the name and it's just a bit sweet overall. read more

We ordered the mala beef rib dry noodle, pork xiao long bao, and spicy stir fried green bean. The dry noodle was super flavorful and coated with a mala oil. The beef was tender and the noodles were chewy. We loved this dish! The XLB were also surprisingly delicious, definitely comparable to Ding Tai Fung or Supreme Dumpling, with a juicy filling and thin chewy wrapper. Located in a very unassuming strip mall, the exterior had us a bit worried but once we stepped inside we were pleased to see a fairly clean and updated interior. We tried the katsu curry noodles, Orange chicken noodle, cold noodle, pan fried pork dumpling (like a pan fried XLB) and green beans. The beans have a the numbing spice kick to them, which I liked but the third person in our group could only eat a few before it became unbearable. The curry noodles is interesting. It has peas and carrots, which isn't what we're used to seeing unless we're in Hawaii ordering Hamburger Curry. Orange chicken noodle was great. Wonderful service, nice staff all around. We went around 4:30p, a super early dinner, so it wasn't busy but still had a couple filled tables! My friend and I tried the spicy XLB, the chili oil spill dumplings, the mala beef shank dry noodle, and the beef rib noodle soup. Everything was wonderful and exceptionally flavored (especially the two dumplings), except... the beef rib noodle soup that fell pretty short. The rib was much less meat than the shank bowl, and was much smaller/shorter of a rib than shown in the advertised photos which is always a disappointment. It was cooked really nicely tender though, so again sad because it was only a few small bites (and the rib costs $8 more than the shank). The soup was also really lacking in flavor - we both thought it was super bland/watery tasting. Wouldn't rec (unless it's a one off)- just surprising that the other dishes were so flavorful except this one. Also highly rec the fruit sodas (i.e. green grape, passion) because they were delish! I've had Fang's on my list for quite some time. Not sure how to feel, but I do want to come back. For a noodle house, I wasn't super impressed with the noodles, but would like to try another dish. Their dessert options (mainly dessert XLB) are amazing though, so I honestly wouldn't mind coming here after a meal either. Service isn't nothing to write home about, order via QR at the table and they'll bring food. Not much interaction. Ample parking in the plaza. There's a decent amount of seating but it can get full, so budget time for a wait just in case. Noodles - I love biang biang noodles so may be judgy but these were slightly too hard rather than QQ or chewy. Not bad, but would prefer a bouncier texture than firm. Meat and sauce was tasty, but the beef was a bit inconsistent. Some pieces were tender while others a bit rough. Would've loved a little more protein, but interested in the beef rib option in the future. Pan Fried Dumplings - these were just worse xiaolongbao. They're barely pan fried and then they just stick to the paper in the basket. This also means they run pretty easily. Would stick to ordering XLB. They also don't provide spoons which would be nice for all XLB soup. Taro XLB - star of the show! Definitely snag one of the dessert XLB if not more. They also have red bean and chocolate. Really good, authentic-tasting food! We were seated right away at 630 on a weekday. There's a large parking lot but I'm sure it gets packed during peak hours. You order everything up front through their app and then they bring it out to you. The beef shank noodle soup is definitely rainy day comfort food and the biang biang noodles are perfectly chewy. I also got the blistered green beans and they were pretty good. Condiments interestingly are not on the table; you have to request them and they're a little stingy on it. We were given one small sauce to go cup for the whole table. My husband ordered a pork(?) noodle which was much more flavorful, so if I come back I might try that instead. Surprisingly, their soup dumplings are actually what stood out to me here: great soup flavor, reasonably sized filling, and good dumpling skin. I would order it again if I came back. As expected, even better to eat as it is fresh because the noodles just aren't as good when packed to go and sits for a bit. I was in the neighborhood at my favorite car suspension shop "mShop Auto" and capitalized to finally drop in. Very glad I did. The shank fell off the bone. Tender, juicy, flavorful. The noodles were perfect, 3 star spicy just enough spicy for me. I capitalized so hard that I added cost by adding noodles and fried egg. Final cost with tip was $33. That is quite a bit high honestly, to my own doing admittedly, but still, with the extras it is a bit high. Also, there is a bit of sweetness that I'm not that fond of that comes from the mala that I'm not a fan of. These 2 things are the main reasons why it is not a 5 Star for me, but easily good for return visits but would be even more if not for these 2 things. This restaurant has been open for quite some time and I've never had the inkling to try it until today since I was getting my haircut next-door and had to wait for my husband to come pick me up. The first thing I noticed is that everyone in here is Asian. That's a great sign that other Asian people wanna eat here. However, I felt the portion size you get for the price you pay for was kind of steep. I ordered the Orange Chicken with Mixed Dry Noodles and it was definitely good. But at $19.99, I expected a bit more than I received. Upon arriving on a Saturday at 7 p.m., I was pointed to take a seat at a table. Taking my seat, I wasn't told anything and just happened to find a QR code off to the side of the table to see and order from a menu. You order and the waitress brings your food to you. Other than that, the service here isn't the greatest. I didn't even get a greeting or any direction on how to order. That said, you don't come here for great service, you come for good food. And it did deliver there! At 7 p.m. on a Saturday evening, there were about 3 or 4 tables available and most of the people eating here were groups of friends in their 20s and low 30s. A handful of tables appeared to have their parents with them so overall, this seems to be a younger-person establishment. It also seemed kind of dark inside and I don't mean the romantic kind. Overall, this is not a fancy place. It's a hole-in-the-wall-like place with good food. I knocked off a star for their high prices for the small portion sizes you get and the dim lighting. I personally don't like when restaurants give QR codes to scan for the menu rather than physical ones. It's not accessible for everyone, especially those that are not tech savvy. It was also so hard to scan the QR code because it was so dim in there and the menu was next to another QR code which made it difficult to scan to the correct website! To make matters worse, the digital menu does not have all the items listed...I had to ask the waitress to order for us because the item I wanted wasn't published on the digital menu. I had to show her a picture of the physical menu I found on yelp. I got the Mala Spicy Beef Dry Mix Noodle with 3 star spice. I like the chewiness of the Biang Biang noodles, but the portion of the noodles and meat was quite small. I was not full at all after finishing it. The spicy sauce is also not the numbing Mala taste I was hoping for. It was just chili oil honestly.... didn't taste like authentic Mala. I do appreciate how quickly they prepped the food though! If you're looking for a great beef noodle soup this is your place! The soupy broth is awesome but the dry version also knocks it out of the park. With each bowl you choose the spice level with the choices of noodles. Another thing I like to pay attention to is how hot - temp wise - your broth is because there's nothing worse than a lukewarm bowl of noodles and here it comes out piping hot. I've been seeing this place on social media and decided to try as we were coming up from Bellevue. The beef rib was what had interested us, after seeing many videos of the large bone in the noodle dish. The bone was a bit smaller than some of the ones that were posted online, but it wasn't too small either. The meat was soft but did not fall off of the bone immediately. The sauce on the noodles was not very spicy (I could've gotten it more spicer). I didn't get as much mala spice flavor as I was wanting but I thought the sauce was enjoyable. The noodles are chewy and the sauce covered the noodles graciously. It was kind of heavy to eat by the end, so I wish I had gotten some of the cucumber to balance it out. The bowls here are deep and look very big, but I found in actuality that there is not as many noodles as other biang biang noodle places in Washington. I thought the soup dumplings were the sleeper hit. The broth in the pork dumplings was rich and flavorful. Different than other broths I've had in xiao long bao, but in a good way. Good amount of soup in them too! Everything is done via scanning the QR code at the table, so very minimal interaction with the staff. You also pay as soon as you order. We ordered the Mala beef shank dry noodle, Spicy Stir fried Green Beans, and Chili Oil Spill Dumplings. The Mala Beef Shank Fry Noodles were ordered at 3 star spice, not too spicy just right for my partner and I. It was so saucy and savory. I love how the sauce poured over the flat noodles. This was my second time having them here. The Spicy Stir Fried Green Beans were fried in Sichuan peppers making it a bit spicy with the numbing feeling. That crunch was amazing with them! The Chili Oil Spill Dumplings were also very yummy and juicy. It pairs well with the other dishes. 3 dishes for two is the perfect amount to fill you up here! Overall very salty foods. Spicy Hand pulled noodles (just 4 noodles in the bowl ) also sauce are too salty for us. We loved their chewy noodles but too much salt contained in the noodles and sauce is little sweet compared other Xian noodles restaurants. Also we ordered chicken fried rice that was horrible taste and texture because the chicken wasn't fresh. Smelled like they already cooked yesterday and kept it in the fridge and added when we ordered. And flavor is very strange when I took bite. I don't know what kind of oil they used or ingredients they used in fried rice but me and my husband had both had stomach problems after eating 30-40 later. Fang's has been one of my go to spots for hand pulled noodles! I've known about this local restaurant before they blew up on social media! Been going here since 2021 and the food hasn't changed. The restaurant looks more modern now. They have QR codes for you to look at the menu, place your order and checkout online. The restaurant isn't big, probably 5-8 booths and 2 long tables. Prior to the social media blowup, they had all of their food items on the menu and were never out of anything. Now, if you show up late, most of the popular items are out of stock. Some of my favorite dishes is the Mala spicy beef dry mix with the hand pull flat noodles! So flavorful and you can choose how spicy you want it. The panfried pork buns are also delicious and come out hot. The plate comes with 3 buns. I also enjoy the gyozas and the pork xiaolongbao. But the filling was kinda dry and not flavorful For the biang biang noodles, I got 1 star spice which was perfect amount of spice for me. But it was a bit too spicy and not enough acidity. I asked for some vinegar and the worker came back with a dish of soy sauce :c noodles themselves were good though. Pork is fine, not amazing.
