Vacationing in Palm Coast and this was recommended to me by name. Ordered a number of sushi items and shrimp udon noodles. The sushi was mediocre with a glaring exception: the lobster sushi definitely did not have any lobster in it. It was shrimp tempura. The shrimp in the udon noodles didn't taste very fresh and the udon noodles were in a grease that I didn't really like. After trying a few other sushi restaurants in town, I was hoping to make this the one my go-to. Let me just start my saying that the service was great! Our waiter was very prompt at taking our order and refilling our drinks. He was also very kind. We were given a small sample roll which was a nice surprise. Our meals on the other hand were nothing to write home about. My husband ordered shrimp hibachi and although it looked beautiful on the plate, it did not have much flavor at all. I had a crazy girl roll. I wasn't impressed. The shrimp in it was very tough and the whole roll was pretty flavorless. Needless to say, we won't be returning. read more

This place is great! They're a bit pricy but the food is very good. he only downfall is the Miso Soup. Its very sour :( The restaurant is very clean and the staff is super nice! I have eaten here a number of times since the restaurant opened. This particular outing was horrible, we waited over 10 minutes for service, but the table that was sat after us was served prompty upon being sat at their table. This place is attractively-decorated and seating is comfortable. Prices are decent, with lunch coming with soup, salad, and crab tempura appetizer. Everything tasted fine, although the miso soup was a bit thin (I'm not used to being able to see all the way to the bottom), and not even little cubes of toufu or seaweed. The nigiri sushi was served room temperature, not chilled, and the cucumber in the Calif. roll was a bit tougher than I've ever had before. The complimentary soups was a great way to start!! and they got us complimentary house roll, which was a fried crab stick roll, delicious. We got the spicy tuna roll, green dragon roll, veggie roll, and soft shell crab roll and chicken yaki udon. All the rolls were fresh and came out really fast. One of my favorite places to go for a date or with a group. Food is always so yummy and the service is incredible, every time. I always leave with left overs I'm so excited to have another time! Stopped here for dinner with my family of four on a Saturday. It was not busy and we were Immediately seated. Upon sitting we were brought soup and a small krab roll. We ordered the hibachi chicken and steak dinner to split with our small children. It came with noodles, rice, salad, meat and veggies. There were much less veggies than I would have liked but It was more than enough food and we ended up taking a tiny bit home. The food came out quickly and was good, the chicken actually had decent flavor even without the sauce. And yes they have the yum yum sauce. I appreciate the hibachi dinner without the show and sitting with others. We also had the fancy q sushi roll which was about 8 pretty good size pieces. Tasted good. Just FYI the booth tables are narrow making it hard for my littles to eat although they are tall and never use boosters or high chairs. You can move the table closer to the kids which makes it wide on the adults side, it was not that inconvenient for us. Prices were average for dinner although their specialty sushi roll prices were steeper than we've experienced anywhere else. We finished with their tempura ice cream. The batter was caked and more thick than crunchy and the ice cream was still a solid hard ball in the middle which made it a little difficult to cut through and eat. A few seconds more and I'm sure it would have been soft enough to enjoy. Overall the quantity of our entrees made our bill reasonable, we enjoyed our meal and didn't regret any of our choices. read more

The sushi was great but service was terrible. The waitress was extremely disrespectful. She didn't seem to care about anything and looked very impatient the whole time. After telling her my order, she went back to talking to the other waitress and didn't even put my order in for 15 minutes. It wasn't even busy, there were only 2 other tables. She didn't give me the holiday roll appetizer and when I told her she said it was too late and that I already paid for my order. Overall, don't sit in! The food was great, but this one waitress really went above and beyond to upset me. She didn't want to serve me and then had the audacity to slam everything on the table and fling the fork into the table when I asked politely (repeatedly). Probably won't come here again, seeing as they could hire someone like her. I don't get it because I've never had a problem before. My friend and I really liked our food here, first time here for both of us. We got the tofu appetizer, edamame, and avocado salad appetizers, all very good. They gave us complimentary clear soup and 2 portions of fried crab stick "holiday roll" with cream cheese inside, also very tasty. I got the hibachi vegetables which come with zucchini, carrots, mushrooms, onion, and noodles. I was very happy with my meal. They have the white sauce aka shrimp sauce in a large squeeze bottle on the table which I found helpful since I really like that stuff and I could use the amount I wanted without making a mess or having to ask for more. My friend got an assortment of sashimi which was a la carte and the slices looked pretty thick with a pretty presentation that had a small wine glass with lights inside and a ginger rose. He also go beer and wine. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was pleasant, small but cozy. read more

Awesome sushi. My 11yr old grandson is a big sushi fan with a grown up pallet we were the only people in for an early lunch and he was delighted with his plate. He wolfed it down like he hadn't eaten in a week! The chefs sent a complimentary sushi platter to him after he scoffed down his lunch. This place was a tremendous surprise. Visited with family while travelling in the area, and was braced for disappointment after being forewarned, "It's a chain..." before entering. There's nothing to suggest that this particular Fancy Sushi is relying on name recognition from being part of a regional brand, though - the service was far better than one would reasonably expect from a chain. Server Nicole, sushi chef Denny and owner Jimmy went out of their way to make our meal as pleasant as possible. The sushi isn't incredibly fancy, but it's inventive, lovingly constructed, and tailored to your tastes if you provide a few hints. We (a party of three) probably received a third of our total lunch as complimentary dishes based around comments we'd made about our favorite rolls and sashimi, and we were even gifted a very decent bottle of wine mid-meal to accompany our choices. There's a kind of unrelenting attention to personal preference: I had a whole conversation with our server over each minor drink order, and I never got away with ordering any specific menu item without the chef offering some customizations, even managing to embellish the lowly spicy tuna roll after a chat about my definition of 'spicy'. I expected the whole experience to teeter into overeager spectacle, but Nicole and Denny were so personable and relaxed that it was easy to concentrate on the surfeit of sushi and set doubts aside. If you stop by, be sure to ask Nicole how her loquats are coming along, and don't be too skeptical if offered a 'sushi pizza' - it's far better than you'd have any reason to expect. read more

I would give zero stars if I could. The tempura wasn't cooked, and tasted like cooking oil. The rice was slimy. The tea wasn't hot and the seaweed salad wasn't cold. I'm not a sushi fan so I walked in and sat down not knowing what to expect. I ordered the tempura shrimp lunch entree. It was great. I will be going back. The miso soup was a surprise, the salad ginger dressing was best I have ever eaten. Only four shrimp, but paired with the tempura vegetables I left satisfied and for 8 bucks how could I complain. Fancy Sushi served their teriyaki chicken sliced on a bed of vegetables with a side of rice a bowl of soup and salad. The appetizer was the holiday roll. Now they've changed from the delicately sliced chicken to this cut up hard fried catastrophe of chicken served on a bed of over-cooked vegetables, the holiday roll although good was served cold and the staff seemed to care less. The water fountain added a bit of ambiance to the environment however it's been broken over 5 months which in retrospect is about the time the food and service began its downward drift. My favorite sushi & hibachi restaurant in Palm Coast! I've had a little bit of everything and it is always delicious. The lunch specials are fantastic. My favorite is the spicy tuna roll, it's delicious. Prices are great and the portions are huge. Always leave happy, and the complimentary roll they bring to your table....IS TO DIE FOR!! Wow wow wow. Fancy Sushi is incredible. When you sit down you are given soups and an appetizer on the house. They are delightful! You can easily order a la carte rolls and walk out with a bill under twenty dollars for two including drinks and have a delicious meal. Getting a chef's specialty meal is well worth the money though. The chefs take the time to plate the sushi beautifully and care a lot about presentation. Fish is always fresh. I have only tried a hot dish twice but they were very good.
