I come to Fancy Nails because they always make time for me. I'm a FedEx driver and have to come in when I have free time they are always busy but they always greet me and make sure they find out what I need and they get to me as fast as they can even though they always have tons of people coming to their shop day after day. They always do good work and its fast. I came in tonight and the owners were on their anniversary trip. The shop was busy but all the nail techs worked hard to get everyone done, which was hard with only one that could do the acrylic nails, so they switched off as fast as they could. read more

I was recommended Fancy nails by a friend and we both decided to go get our nails done. It was quite the wait but understandable since I lacked an appointment, however after our nails were done we were beyond disappointed. We got them done during the last hour of business on a Saturday so we were unable to get them fixed the next day once the imperfections became extremely evident. I can understand a bump or two in an acrylic set but I left the salon with crooked, lumpy, and not fully dry gel acrylic nails. As you know gel nails are fairly simple and quick to dry but the way the woman rushed the process truly ruined any chance of an acceptable product. Terrible experience! Do not go there! Cut my daughters foot and fingers. Stuck a floral sticker on one of the nails without asking. Each nail on her thumb was completely different sizes. So, so terrible. We will never, ever be back!! When they were done with my wife's pedicure the lady just got up and walked off and didn't come back for 20 minutes to say she was done. I decided I wanted to get my nails done last minute on Sunday (it was my birthday) during a busy holiday weekend. Fancy nails was the only nail salon that had time to get me in, and I called 5 places before them! That alone made me nervous to go, but I was pleasantly surprised. I came in for a full set of acrylic nails and a pedicure. They got started on me as soon as I got there, and we're done in a reasonable time. I ran into a couple problems while I was there. First, the salon is not the cleanest I've seen... by a long shot. That didn't bother me too much, but I can imagine some people being really unhappy about that. The remote for the massage chair was covered in some who-know-what substances. Second, I showed my nail tech a photo of what I wanted. I wanted natural acrylic (where the pink fades to white). I showed her three photos and she said ok. I ended up with pink painted nails? Not even CLOSE to what I asked for, but in the end I still liked them. It was frustrating at first though because it wasn't anything like I wanted. Pros- they were very nice, did a good job with my pedicure and nails, were quick, and polite. read more

Stay away this nail salon is horrible service. So I asked for a pedicure only which is $20 on their sign and asked for oval shape. The guy doing my nails was horrible, he shaped all my nails square except for two nails. He was not wearing gloves nor a mask and the white towel they have you put your hands on was dirty. Now on to the nail color which I asked for color changing which is extra $5 but he could not comprehend what I was asking for or just decided he wanted more money. He quotes me $30 and I said no that's not what your price is on your sign. Then this guy Tony said yes for gel and I told him I never asked for gel to start with. So he tells me to pick a color off the walk which by then I'm not happy but did so to get out of there. This guy doing my nails was really horrible and the pedicure was a joke. After finally getting my nails painted he never put them under the UV light to dry. So when he finally said they are dried I asked him twice are you sure..he said yes. Upon getting my money out the nails were not dried and he wanted to fix the ones that were not but I said nope I've had enough and will go next door to the dollar store and get nail remover and do it myself. So basically if you don't request gel or higher price you get the low ball treatment. The next day my skin around my nails start to peel very badly and turned red and puffy. Yep some type of infection and thank goodness I had collateral silver on hand which has helped and to this day they are still healing on both hands. Absolutely the worse nail salon I've ever received service from and not sanitary to top it off. My service was on December 28th around 5pm. read more

Fancy nails is a gem I have tried a dozen nail shops in Redding and although a few have been nice, none have been up to my standards. The shop is clean and immaculate, they have plenty of color options, and the nail techs are friendly. When I got my nails done last, the shop owner tony, I believe, started my nails and he was gentle, fast, and precise! He's the only nail tech I've had that can get my coffin nails as sharp and even as I like! The younger female nail tech finished my nails, she painted them and hand painted the design I wanted on two of my nails exactly how I asked and she made sure every line was perfect! As much as I don't want to speak poorly on this place due to the lady here being incredible, the salon as a whole is an absolute joke. The guy doing my nails shouted at me "maybe you should tell me this before" after answering his question "what shape do you want?" With "rounded" during the gluing the tip to my nail process. He continued by aggressively ripping the tips off with the rudest attitude just to reglue the exact same ones onto my nails less than a minute later. What was the point of this? I wish I knew. But right then and there I knew it was going to be a terrible experience and that it was. I had to ask him for specifics and politely correct him several times and still left the salon with thick, lumpy, unprofessional nails. SISTER JUST TURN AROUND PLEASE. I know what you're thinking... the pictures look good. But trust me the service isn't worth it. This was my second time giving this place a chance and I am REGRETFUL. When I called to make an appointment the women didn't even ask for my name, that was my first red flag. Nail places like these will take your appointment regardless if they have time for you because they want your money. I made an appointment at 4:30 to get a fill and as soon as I walk in... dead silence. No greeting, no how can I help you? Nothing. Just the sound of my awkward feet brushing up against their poorly swept floor. I said "hi!" To try and see that these people were in fact acknowledging my existence and NOTHING. No hello back? Okay? So I sit down and I waited.. and waited and waited for AN HOUR. Finally I see one of the women finish up her client and I think "finally I'm next" NOPE this lady just starts cleaning up around her station, cleaning the pedi stations, chatting with the other nail techs and not acknowledging that I in fact have been sitting there for AN HOUR. I've been here quite a few times. I've lived down the road from this salon for over a year. I have had Tony, and the other two techs. The younger male here is very talented and kind. Whereas I just got my nails done here by Tony. Called ahead, waited 45 minutes before coming in. Then waiting over an hour in the salon. I wanted a green French tip with mushrooms. Super basic design. Tony is always being referred to me by friends, and this time I had him by luck. So I was excited to actually love my nails, since my last two sets $50+ from the mall were trash. I've done my own sets and know the difference between talent and laziness. Tony has Talent, just doesn't care. And is really ruff, and can come across as mean. I don't have the patience to do my right hand myself, so I normally just go to get them done somewhere. I had my picture ready. wanted a longer almond shape, it's the most flattering on my hands. When he cut the tip too short he just ripped it off, no soak, and it felt like my skin was ripping off. Tooooo much super glue on all fingers. My finger pads are stuck to the top of the acrylic. And I have to pull them off. The tips themselves were very well executed, as far as the curve. The problem is, he only did a single coat of green. So it's see through, uneven, and not fully lined up the nail. This is just pure negligence. The mushrooms look like triangles not rounded. The dots are iffy. And there's air bubbles and hair in the top coat of gel. They're too short STILLLL, after I asked for longer. They point upwards, not down. And it completely looks like too small of tips were used on my nails. I have large hands, and large square beds. So from other sets I've gotten, these do not look uniform to my fingers at all. From a distance they're cute, and I got a few compliments today. But up close these are horrid. I tipped $10. $55 total. I really shouldn't have. But I felt like I was an inconvenience because how my hands were treated. And Tony just didn't seem like he was having a good day. Don't go here if you want your hands treated gently. The main lady at A-Z is wonderful. She massaged my hands for a good 5 minutes with the oil. She made conversation. 10/10, this was from April. My favorite set. The diem and dirty is I love how my nails came out. The gal that did them did had painted fall leave and her attention to detail was fabulous. Dislikes: I was a walk-in. There were two people already in and it took an hour before they started on me. While she was trimming my nails to begin the acrylic one flew and hit me I'm the face, another into my lab. The others... who knows lol they also didn't talk terribly much. I was quoted $45 for my nails, my usual place charges $35. I feel $45 was a bit much. The shop was clean and didn't smell. The walls didn't look perfect behind the register but I also don't feel the walls determines their ability to do my nails. Why mention it then? Visuals matter to some people. I really do appreciate that as more poodle walked in age didn't rush my nails to het to the next person. I would have given 5 stars for a better price. Fungus is rampant here I have it so does my daughter and multiple others I've talked to that have gotten it from here. Tools are not being auto claved as they should be and being reused one after another! Tubs for pedicures are not being sanitized and they are raising prices to their liking. Now $80.00 a set. Very unsanitary do not go here unless u want to lose your natural nails to green fungus! read more

ONLY let Tony touch your nails. First time I went he did my acrylics, and it went great. Later I came back for acrylic nail removal, manicure and gel and one of the women did it. She improperly cut my cuticles, and flooded almost every nail with the gel and polish so it looked terrible. Then a few days later three of my cuticles got infected!!!! I had to take off the manicure myself and scrape out the infections. read more

I was shocked when taken to a back room that was more like a storage filled with all kinds of junk! When we got back there she had to ask the man that was laying on the table taking a nap to get up. The table looked dirty and there was no paper on it. He got up so I could lay down and still nothing put on the table to separate you from the previous person, not even at the head! I should have refused but that kind of stuff is hard for me so I laid down feeling very disgusted!! She did a fast "just ok" job on my brows! When time to pay it was 2 dollars more than most places and she charged 50 cents more for using my debit card. This is the first review I can remember writing but really felt led to do so. I've been going to fancy nails for the past year and their work is always amazing! I constantly get compliments on my nails. Their prices are also very affordable and the staff is super nice. I recently started having Tony do my nails and his work is insane. He can do whatever custom work you want and comes up with really cool ideas too. (Check their insta and you'll see what I mean.) My only regret is that I took videos instead of pictures of my previous nails so I can't post them but here's the latest set I had done but I've had some really crazy nails before and they've always turned out super cute. (Ignore my crooked fingers pls) I tried to take screenshots of my nails in some of the videos so you can kinda see the great work they do. I'll start posting more photos for reference in the future but I definitely recommend Fancy Nails if you're looking for a good nail place. This was was affordable and given they were available and had a lot of colors to choose from but the customer service? No thanks. And they continually lied to customers on the wait time too. Do not come here unless you want to get your nails shittily done, painfully taken off and get laughed at by the nail techs themselves. The nail tech cracked/chipped the center of my natural nail while removing my acrylics. Just a week and a half ago, I got my nails done here and they looked 2wks old instead of 1 day old. The nail began to pop off only after a week and a half later. So I went in today to get them removed. The nail tech (same one that put them on) started at my pinky and clipped my nails then attempted to pry the acrylic off and after that didn't work, she used tweezer looking things to TWIST it off which really really hurt. It was painful because she cracked the center of my natural nail while attempting to pry it without soaking my nails in anything. I involuntarily pulled my hand back and she realized I was in pain and said "it's okay." I wasn't sure if that was the normal process because this was my first time getting acrylics removed so I didn't say anything and let her proceed to my ring finger. She trimmed the acrylic and my nail but went way too deep on my natural nail so when she pried that one off, it hurt even more and this drew blood. I didn't even realize I started crying due to the pain and another tech said something in their language - I'm assuming she was pointing out the fact that I was crying. Immediately a third tech come over and soaked my nails in something and then used another acrylic nail thing to get in between my natural nail and the acrylic and pry it off that way. But during the process, all three nail techs were talking in their language and laughing. Literally laughing. I can't imagine they were talking about something not related to this incident. My pinky nail is visibly dented and what happened was that when she tried to pry off my pinky nail, she pushed into my natural nail and dented it or cracked it. I couldn't really stop crying throughout because it was so painful. Also, during the manicure, while a second tech was trimming cuticles, she made me bleed on the same finger that was already bleeding and pretending like nothing happened. Stupidly, I still paid for the removal and manicure. I'm so upset. This is absolutely unacceptable. If I could give 0 stars, I would. So again, do not come here unless you want to get your nails shittily done, painfully taken off and then get laughed at. read more
