Not sure why ratings are low. I've been to most walk in nail shops in the area and Michelle is my go to. My nails are thin, perfect, natural looking and last like no where else. It's not the fanciest atmosphere but they did recently put in new chairs that are quite comfy and spruce it up a bit. Had a really great pedicure yesterday from Julia. My feet look human again! Clean, good music and felt welcomed.

Customer service was bad. It took them a couple minutes to realize I was standing by the counter wanting to get my nails done. After they said they could do it I showed the lady what I wanted and they said they didn't have the color I wanted. Okay fine. Then I chose something else and I was ready for her to get started and the lady was on her phone talking to a car dealership. After she got done talking she did my French manicure but the lines were all uneven and not very straight. Also, the acrylic has bubbles in them. Overall, not the best experience. read more

I've been coming here for several years. Unfortunately, they have a staff turnover frequently. Also, when you call the man who answers the phone doesn't really understand what you are saying. Last time I went, he said he wrote down my appointment time with the person I requested, but when I got there, she said I wasn't down for that appointment and I got double booked. Staff appear very unhappy, and nobody smiles or talks to anybody. They need to work on their customer service. It's really poor. read more

My god.... I have never been so angry after what's supposed to be a relaxing day before I go back to work for the week. I decided to come into town to my old what used to be favorite nail salon after my new favorite VIP nail Salon was too busy. I'll never again consider coming back to nails and spa. After waiting almost an hour to start my acrylics, the man looked to be almost falling asleep or nodding off while filing my nails. I had one nail fall off so he replaced it, absolutely sideways, CROOKED! The nail was pointed towards my other hand instead of straight out like the others. After lazily getting up and walking away he came back and told me to move to someone else to finish. I sat down and someone else sat down and started filing, he then stopped and walked away then ANOTHER person came and I'm assuming she's the owner? She sat down, finished filing, cut down the one tip the first guy put on then proceeded to RIP it off my finger after she realized how badly crooked it was put on. Then she used a completely different color of acrylic powder on the one nail and to fill the rest making all the underneath different colors. The polish is so sloppy underneath the nails but the top looks good they are just so dull that it looks like I've already had them for 2 weeks. As for my pedicure! I sit down, put my feet in the water expecting to just relax and soak my feet in hot water, COLD. Not a huge deal to me so I start the massage chairs and I wish I could've saw my dumbfounded face, it felt like a kid was driving hot wheels on my back while I was wearing a thick winter jacket. ANOTHER person came to start on my pedicure, I told her I had previously cut my nails and just needed them filed, she cut those suckers into NUBS. I thought whatever because I get French tips, that just added another week till I needed to do them again. She then proceeded to DIG into the side of my nail trying to look for an ingrown that was never there and when I said OUCH she decided she couldn't move on without getting something out so she cut the side of my nail and RIPPED IT DOWN MY TOE. At this point I started getting the little fire ball of anger in my chest. Like I said, I get French tips on my toes. This lady damn near painted my whole toe white, I thought she'd use the acetone to make the clean line like other shops, she did but only to clean the edges of the white halfway down my nail. I had to ask more than 5 times to make the white thinner till I just gave up because I was crying. Why was I crying? Because every nail she had painted she DUG HER SHARP, LONG ASS NAILS INTO MY SKIN TILL I BLED. I was at the edge of the chair with closed fists fighting the demons that wanted to make me start swinging from how much pain I was in. At this point I told her to just stop and that I wanted to leave. She told me we we're almost done. I said just put on the top coat and get me out. After she put on the top coat she decided they needed to be CUT and filed AGAIN! I get filing the edges but CUTTING after they are already so short they hurt?! I said no thanks, grabbed my stuff and went to pay. I pulled out $100 because I have never paid more than $80 on a fill and pedicure. She says nothing but handed me a receipt after taking my money , I looked at the receipt and it said "$100" I asked why and the owner looked at me in such confusion and shock like she just saw a ghost. I had to repeat myself in front of clients asking how they got $100. She said $30 for fill, $10 for gel, $40 for the pedicure. I said exactly and that doesn't add up to $100. She panicked and paused for a second and added that for my pedicure it was $10 for gel and another $10 to do a French tip???? I'm very unconfrontational so I walked out. I quickly turned back around and went back in calmly telling the owner in front of other clients that I wanted nothing from them but I wanted to tell them how horrid the services I got were. I told her this was one of the worst experiences I have ever had and she quietly just said "okay Thankyou". I walked out shaking and so sick from the amount of anxiety. I then noticed that my feet are dryer and more messed up than from before I even went in. I will never come back to Nails and Spa next to Chuck E. Cheese in Redding. read more

I have been to nails and spa a handful of times and have always been satisfied with my visit. This time was a little bit different. My friend, her daughter, and myself went to get pedicures. My friend asked for her nails to just be filed a little bit. The lady ended up cutting them instead. She left with one toenail way shorter than the other. I left happy with the nail design on my toes. Until the next day when I noticed a good amount of pain on one of my toes. I looked down to see it extremely red and even bleeding.The ripple in the polish at the top is definitely my fault. The second layer of polish could have been applied a little more evenly though. That is really the least of my concerns. I am giving two stars simply due to the fact that I have had previously good experiences here, although I don't think that I will be back. UPDATE: less than 2 weeks after my pedicure, the polish on every single nail (except my big toe) has fallen off (luckily it was just my polish and not my toe!). I have NEVER had this happen. I will never go back to this nail store. 1. The first time I was there, Leny did my nails. The service was okey, but when I paid with my credit card, Leny took my credit card. To my surprise, she chard me extra money without my permission. I had to go back to the store again with the receipt to confront with Leny for the extra money she charged from my credit card. 2. The second visit, the service was okey.But I felt insecure to use my credit card. Thus I paid cash. 3. Today was the third visit. I made appointment with Leny at 4 pm today. When I was there, Leny was busy with another customer. I waited at least 30 minutes for her. Finally, when Leny started working on my nails, I asked her why one my nail broke after the second visit. To my surprise Leny told me that she was only the employee, not responsible for my questions. And she asked me to go for the owner for my question. And later on she asked me to have somebody else for my nail. I totally confused by her being offended by my question. I told her " I am only asking you a question, not mean to blame her for my broken at all" . During the whole process, Leny was very cold, I felt it was more like a "silent treatment "but not a "nail spa" at all. At last, when she finished her job, She shook the towel so hard thus a large amount of nail clippings was flipped onto my clothes. I decided to talk to the owner about Leny's rude attitude. The owner was busy with a customer. I didn't;t want to influence their business, thus I sit on the chairs by the door to wait. While I was waiting for the owner, Leny started yelling at me from her desk... On my way back home, I found the edges of my nails were not smoothed at all. So I had to go back again to polish the rough edges . In frond of her customer, Leny said that the owner I talked to a while ago was her sister ( She might want to let me know that she didn't care at all because the owner was her sister) .And she told me again that she would not do my nails again. Conclusion: 1) My credit card was charged extra money without asking my permission. 2) They were very rude and had no respect at all. read more

Disappointed that I was being talked out of colored polish on my natural nails when I brought my own clear base and top coatings. Eventually I did get hands painted but it was not well applied. I had been given a gift certificate for a $70 pedicure. First, I had to wait over 30 minutes & I had a appointment. The owner did not explain to me why or address me until I asked her if Tammy was there. I had the appointment with Tammy, due to a referral. Finally, the owner told me to sit in a salon chair. This place is TERRIBLE. Today is October 15, 2018. 9:56 am. I just had the worst expirience in this shit hole. This place is responsible for the absolute most shittiest half a pedicure I have ever gotten. Also the CUSTOMER SERVICE IS AWFUL. My "nail tech" had no idea wtf he was doing at all. he was rude , never said a word to me but took the time to belittle and embarrass me in front of his co-workers and customers. In the beginning of the pedicure I knew the older man had almost never done a pedicure before. He kept looking at the girl next us and copying her. his filing was horrible. he totally shredded my nails. When he was scrubbing his feet and had to lift my leg , he loudly exhaled and exclaimed "OOOF!" he turned to his co worker and made a few muttered comments while making a big show of holding up my leg.... I let this slide but i knew I wouldn't want him massaging my fat legs which was up next in this truly fucked expirience. I'm 8 weeks postpartum. This was the first pedicure I have gotten since I gave birth. I have enough going on at home with a new baby and I don't need to be fat shamed by some fucking janitor posing as a nail tech. Like I said I let the "OOOF!" comment slide. As he proceeded to lift my legging up, he saw that my legs weren't shaved and did some more mumbling coupled with some head shaking. I then said I don't want a massage thank you. And here is where shit went left. He tells the girl next to him I don't want a massage and they confer. whatever.... he then gets up to get towels to dry my feet. While he is going to get towels, more coworkers come into the salon to start there work day. he approaches each one and says "no massage"to each one and other mumblings I can't hear, but each person looks at me amused as he is individually discussing me for whatever reason???? Here's where I have had efuckingnough. I ask loudly if there's a problem with me not wanting a massage? the girl next to us says oh no he just ask if it's cheaper. Well why the fuck does he need to discuss with 3 other ppl when he asked the girl next to me first. and why are ppl staring and whispering while STARING at me and smirking? The dude already had made me feel fat and gross. I know I'm in control of my own feelings but I'm a little sensitive right now due to pushing a baby out of my cooter. But DAMMIT I know when someone is talking shit and I'll be damned if the guy scrubbing the salon toilet for a living is gnna body shame me then talk shit about me IN FRONT OF ME. These people can play it off like he wasn't doing anything. He was rude and unprofessional and had not a fucking clue what he was doing. These people need to understand that CUSTOMER SERVICE is key. Redding is full of shitty ass nail salon and this is just another. The women who is pictured on yelp was there, I'm assuming she is the boss, she offered NO apology and no rectification of the situation. she literally just sat there and did nothing said nothing. This place is a absolute nightmare filthy dirty. I make my appointment in advance a week and every time I have to wait. This place used to be decent years ago with different owners. I love this place! I sneak away from work,- and hour drive and an hour in the spa. Techs are courteous and all are good. My nails look great when I am complete, and the prices are fabulous. Manis and pedis are not the only services offered. The fact is there is a whole lineup of them from waxing, to massage to nails. It helps to make an appointment, but walk ins are welcomed. Everything looks brand new and pretty and there aren't any of those circa 1980's nails posters. Y'all know which posters I am talking about. Everything was new and pretty and up to date. I got the paraffin dip, which was awesome, but they didn't even let it cool before taking it off. You gotta let that stuff do it's magic. I was very pleased with my gel manicure. Have tried many places and my usual place was too busy so went here and always had a good experience here. They got me in pretty promptly, I called ahead and made apt but had to wait only like 5 mins. Everything looked clean and she took precautions from what I observed like any other salon... I have poor eyesight so didn't notice until i was able to see them closer. She wasn't super paying attention during pedicure she seemed really friendly but kind of half-a**d it it felt like and kind of hurt at times. I had just a color change for nails and they used the electric file with different tops to remove it and I know that is probably why not even a week later my nail is breaking in half which they never do and I always get gels nails but they soak them off. This was a great experience, Tina and her husband are expert artisans and do a great job! For a gel polish with powder fill, they soak off the old layers which really gives a clean look for the new powder and gel, leaving a thin but strong base for any colors you would like. They have a spectacular assortment of finishes to chose from. Everything always clean and tidy. The atmosphere is relaxed and you will be too, after your experience here. They don't clean their stations in between people, don't sterilize their instruments, and even reuse their towels without washing! Completely disgusting...
