I've had him do manicures two separate times and both have been very disappointing. The Ladies especially Kim and the other guy are top notch. Hello- came in today, 2/9. When I came in I asked for a fill with red French tip and a layer of chrome over it. As my mani started it came very clear the tech was not used to working the drill. She would go SUPER fast or barely spinning, kept hitting my skin too. When she went to put on my acrylic powder she did my middle finger a different color than the rest (see picture). I wanted French tip, the acrylic under would show and the two acrylic powders she used were extremely different- very noticeable difference. I asked her to fix the middle finger so it matches the rest. She literally said no and told me it wouldn't be noticeable. I told her multiple times I wasn't happy with it and that it's very noticeable. She refused to change it even after I asked if we could put a new tip on and restart, she literally threw her hands up in the air acting childish. I had to change what I wanted as I could not do French tip anymore. The entire experience was distasteful even before she refused to change the nail like I asked. This tech didn't seem to know what she was doing the entire time and was very rude. Will never come back. I recommend sky nails by mod pizza or Tammy's nails by the dollar tree on churn creek/hartnell. Came here today as sky nails wasn't open yet, big mistake! read more

I have gone to A to Z before and usually have a fine experience. The last time before this incident was not good. When he painted my nails you could see my nail through the paint and he filed my natural nail so thin they ended up snapping off the next day. This time I went I asked for a light pink color. He showed me the color on his nail and I told him it wasn't what I wanted. He then proceeded to paint my nails anyways. He also did a mani, which I didn't ask for but paid for. After the first layer I told him it wasn't what I wanted and he said it would be more pink with the next layer. He didn't let me see them before he put the top layer on and finished. When he finished I told him I didn't like them and he said he would charge me for the mani I didn't ask for, a paint removal, and another paint. I ended up paying for what I got and left unhappy. After the way he treated me I will never so back. I ended up at Tammy nails and they were so kind to me. read more

Went for a pedicure yesterday and was bloodied up in more than one place! It started with my left big to...bleeding after the man pulled instead of cut whatever was going on with it and then after I arrived home I noticed all sorts of other places that I had either been cut of rubbed raw by his file. Went back to let them know and show it to them and the manager said wait a couple of days it will get better... I don't have a beach vacation coming up in just a few days and it is definitely going to be ruined because, of this man's negligence...cut feet and sand do not mix. I would not recommend this place. Tried it 5 years ago and the gentleman kept sneezing on me. Nasty! Figured after 5 years that maybe it would be better. Came in and they said 15 mins. They didn't start until over 35 minutes then it took them 2 and a half hours to finish a normally quick, nothing special, mani/pedi. Horrible service and there is a language barrier. read more

Only in town for a day but wanted to get a mani and pedi for the start of Summer. I was able to get a same day appointment for both. Arrived a few minutes early and they took me right away. First was a spa pedicure in a comfortable massage chair. It wasn't too long, but he was through. Then time for manicure. It was busy but clean and sanitary. Super unfriendly. Took my mom to get her first Pedi. The 2 men didn't say a word to us and were very ruff. I ended up with cuts on my feet from the Dremel. Later that night my mom had bumps on the sides of her feet and her right foot was swollen. They did a rush job and could not enjoy our time. My feet hurt so bad. The gentleman who did my pedicure seemed very disinterested. He rushed through the process and wasn't even looking at my feet most of the time. Today is day number two and my toes hurt so bad from his digging into them carelessly, that I can't even wear boots. To top it all off, there are visible scrapes and scratches on the side of my heel where he was out of control with the pumice stone. My feet have never hurt this bad after a pedicure. read more

Horrible experience. The pedicure was so bad that I initially told them I changed my mind and didn't want my manicure. Hardly any scrubbing or massage, my feet are still rough. Ended up getting the gel manicure and regret it. Very rushed, ignored the length I requested, all mishaped, bubbled instantly and left with polish all over my skin. I went here to get a manicure and pedicure for my wedding. I'm not picky, just wanted a light pink color and nothing special. I was happy with how my nails turned out, but my pedicure was not good. It looked fine and everything, but they gave me the worst ingrown nail I have ever had. I walked in was greeted and helped right away. I got a fill and a pedicure they both came out super good. The man who did my toes didn't say one word to me so it was just kind of awkward. The lady who did my acrylics was super friendly. My only complaint was the tub they did my pedicure in they didn't line it and the sanding tools weren't clean, they were definitely used but the other tools like the nail clippers and cuticle pusher were clean. Well let me give you the skinny on the best kept mail secret in Redding... Vin... at A to Z nails. I can not speak for everyone else. Vin is professional. He makes easy going, light conversation. He also picks up on social cues if you'd rather not talk much. More importantly, he is very knowledgeable with nails, acrylic, shaping and sculpting. Perhaps a little old school with the services offered (no apres or builder gel) but his foundation skills are solid. He knows how to correct the nail shape even if your finger is naturally crooked. He knows how to apply thin smooth layers or add bulk if needed (as opposed to applying in bulk and drilling down). He buffs until there's a smooth finish. He keeps a clean workspace and his work is very clean. I can really draw this review out but I won't. Just take it from someone who does their nails no less than 12x a year has been over the last 10 years now, he is experienced. I recommend Vin at A to Z nails for acrylic. read more

My friend and I have been going to A-Z for about 3 years. I always received great service from Mandy. The guys were never friendly, but they did okay considering language barrier. Last year, the service has been going down hill with the men who work there. Time before last, one of them didnt even file and shape my toe nails. The borders were sketchy and looked like a child did them. My friend who was with me said her polish fell off after two days. She had a mani and pedi and left a 10 dollar tip. She felt totally ripped off. Mandy is always consciencous and does great work. I could go on in detail how unpleased I am with the service from the men, but I will stop with this. When I told Mandy about the shoddy service, she did not seem to care. I think she assumes people will just keep coming, why does my opinion matter. NEVER AGAIN. I literally made this account just to write this review. I walked into A to Z nails with high expectations and walked out in agonising pain, my nails were a simple black (kinda hard to mess that up) but the art I had applied was absolute garbage, and my nails were uneven, and filed down WAY too much, especially on the sides! And just overall a bad experience! They also assured me that the nails would stay on for AT LEAST 3 weeks, but it hasn't even been 2 weeks and all but 3 remain intact. When all of the nails came off on their own, not only has completely trashed my actual nails, it ripped off flesh, and I've bled. I did call yesterday to complain and to see if they could remove the last of the nails, they said it would be a $7 charge! I'm not paying anymore money to these people, they had no sympathy of the pain and inconvenience it caused me. I ended up clipping and filing my nails my damn self, did I mention for free? It's ran by a family and they could care less about the customers, the entire time they were talking to each other in chinese and wouldn't give anyone the time of day! They also charged more than they orignally said AFTER the fact that my nails were already applied so beware of that! Usually don't make reviews but I just want to make sure no one else has this same literally painful and upsetting experience as I did. read more

I went to get my nails done and clearly I got the newbie, not only did he not know where anything(files, drill bits, gel) was, the other employees made it very awkward by standing over me and the manicurist the whole time watching every little thing he did. This was the worst nail experience I have ever had and I regularly get my nails done. I feel bad for the manicurist because I'm sure the other employees made him more anxious but he did a HORRIBLE job on my flowers. I wanted the most simply daisy and they came out looking nearly impossible to depict. So the lady who did my gel nail Polish was super nice. That being said, I had my nails done on a Friday. By Sunday my pointer finger was lifting. I went in Monday and showed them and they just put another coat on it. By Tuesday, that's right, 4 days after the polish being places they where all lifting. I went back in and she repaired them all. Now it is Friday a week later Nd they are lifting again. I work 2 days a week as a dental hygienist so I'm not that hard on my hands to have my gel nails to lift a few days later. read more
