Excellent in all aspects!! Will definitely be back! Best onion rings EVER!! Highly recommended!

The French fries have way too much salt on them. The cheeseburger wasn't cooked all the way the patty was pink all the way through it looked like it barely touched a heat source at all. The finger steaks weren't cooked through either, the breading was doughy and so soft it fell off the finger steak when it picked it up. Disgusting. We couldn't even finish our meal. When I tried to call the phone rang for 3 minutes and nobody would answer. After spending $79 on food for 3 people that couldn't even be eaten I doubt we'll be coming back. Being a single mom and trying to treat my dad losing out on this money is a huge disappointment. read more

Food has always been good. The problem is every table is dirty the floor is a mess. I void see this if they were busy but the is only 3 people in the place and I am one of them. This is a sign that everything is dirty and the workers are lazy. They did not forget to ask for a tip before any service was give read more

Went in the other day for a simple milkshake and unfortunately it wasn't made properly so I wasn't too happy. But the manager, Nick, went out of his way to explain there have been some management changes and then offered to make it right so I appreciated that. read more

I wish that when it was good it was always good. Major consisentcy problem. The burgers can be great, except when the bun is ice cold. Criss cut fries are amazing but expensive especially when they gyp you on the portion and you don't find out till you get home. Rip off, well sometimes. Went to the drive thru a couple of times (at lunchtime) and no one was home. At the window either. The owner needs to spend more time supervising the teenagers Haven't been back in a year and I live right down the street. read more

Hmm there's something going on here. The inconsistency is now consistent. The sizing is off. The texture of ice cream is off. My dad kept complaining the other night and asked if we brought him ice milk. I took a look and I could see what he was saying. Not sure what to make of this situation. read more

Milkshakes are incredible. Food is bad. Staff is terrible. That pretty much sums it up.

Went to drive through earlier today. A male said "someone will be right with you". I sat there for 10" and nothing. I just drove away. Won't ever try that again! read more

Service was pretty terrible. We only got one hamburger for our son and it took 30 minutes. They didn't keep things in order. And when it finally came out funny enough it had no bun. Pretty dissapointed. read more

We drove out of our way to get shakes today. My hubby got a chocolate and fudge Boston shake, my daughter ordered a choc cheesecake shake and ordered a mint choc chip shake. Everyone's order was good except mine. Don't get me wrong I enjoy a plain mint shake but I was looking forward to the choc chips. There wasn't one chocolate chip in the whole cup. As disappointing as it was we will be back. read more

I love Fanci Freez as it is a Boise staple. That said, you don't go for the food. The shakes, fries, and dirty sodas are what to get. The dolla bill soda and seasoned waffle fries are my favorite. Ask for their ranch as they make that inside. read more

We got 2 cheeseburgers and 2 orders of French fries. Given the amount of time it took for Door Dash to deliver the food I can understand why the fries were cold. I can even let slide the fact that the restaurant totally mixed up the requested condiment choices for each burger. WHAT I CAN'T FORGIVE IS THAT THE ONE THING THAT MAKES A CHEESEBURGER A CHEESEBURGER IS THE CHEESE, NOTABLY LACKING FROM BOTH BURGERS!!! If you're in the market for a good cheeseburger, keep looking, Fanci Freeze ain't it! read more

Service was terrible! A group of teenagers were waiting for an order standing close to registers and we stood at the register for over 5 minutes and no one helped or acknowledged us so we left! Food here is not that great. We ordered a mocha milkshake, mango milkshake, cheeseburgers, finger steaks, and waffle fries. The mocha milkshake didn't taste like mocha, just chocolate--and it was a bit too sweet for my taste. The mango milkshake needed more mango--tasted mostly vanilla. The finger steaks were greasy and wasn't really seasoned. The seasoned waffle fries tasted okay, but there was something off about the seasoning--couldn't put my finger on it, but there was an unpleasant after taste for me. The burgers were okay, nothing to write home about. The buns they used are the kind that stick to the roof of your mouth while chewing, so a but unpleasant. The staff is nice, and that's about it. I would not come back for the food though. read more

We made a family visit to Fanci Freez with varied results. First, the good: I tried their Huckleberry Burger (yes, you read that correctly -- Huckleberry) and it was surprisingly good. They put huckleberry glaze in place of regular condiments. It was quite sweet which was an interesting flavor profile. I wouldn't choose it often instead of savory options; however, it was a fun experience. My wife had the Mushroom Burger and it was very good -- plenty of thinly sliced grilled mushrooms with lettuce and Swiss cheese. Two grandsons had dipped ice cream cones -- chocolate dipped in chocolate and vanilla dipped in butterscotch. They didn't talk much because they were too busy eating. The cones were large and threatened to melt before they could finish. The other grandson had a medium Oreo shake and complained that it was too thick... To me, that is a good thing -- who wants a thin shake?! This teenager, who normally is a bottomless pit when it comes to food, couldn't quite finish his shake -- another positive. My wife & I love huckleberries (evidenced by my choice of burgers); therefore, we shared a large Huckleberry Shake. It had plenty of whole berries and good thick ice cream. It was a tasteful delight! The only problem is that the fruit kept getting stuck in the over-sized straw. We had to ask for a spoon to enjoy most of the huckleberries (note the photo). In our book, that was not much of a problem. Now, for the downsides: I asked for grilled onions on my burger; however, the chopped onions were not grilled. The overall flavor was fine anyway; but I expect restaurants to get the order done correctly. The Italian Soda and Spin drinks for my daughter and son-in-law didn't get prepared until they went back to the counter and inquired about them. For some reason, the staff forgot to complete the entire order. The place was only medium-busy on a Thursday evening; so there is really no good excuse for that oversight. Son-in-law liked his Orange Spin whereas daughter said Sonic's Italian sodas are better. Good news/bad news: The first chocolate dipped cone was a medium size instead of the large which was ordered. When the error was noted, the staff quickly prepared a large cone. That grandson was happy because he now had a cone in each hand. Back to the good: The servers were pleasant and responded well when the issues were brought to their attention. They quickly fixed their errors without any poor attitude. Overall, we had a good experience! read more

Went to the meridian location tonight waited 20 min at the mic to order 4 cars in front of us. 10 min at the window for 2 shakes and 1 cone. Ice cream was sour after drinking a few sips instant sour taste and stomach upset. Think the machines spooled. Very upset kids read more

Went to Meridian store. Ordered Fingersteaks for over $12. 8 small pieces. overcooked. Tasted burnt. No fries with it. Very disappointed.

I ordered the Chicken Tenders for $10.99 and received 5 Chicken Nuggets. "BITE SIZED"

I knew this location was here but I had yet to visit until yesterday. it's tucked away on mcmillian, but they do have a drive thru, which is around the back of the building. really extensive menu with lots of burger/chicken/fish options. tons of flavors of sodas and shakes and ice creams. we were just there for a quick bite this time. my dad got the mushroom burger with swiss, mushrooms, lettuce, tomato, and a really amazing looking bun. he said he loved it. it was a fair price too, if I recall. I wanted something small and they have CHICKEN NUGGETS on the menu! what?? you never see that at places like this. of course I had to try them. they were absolutely epic. homemade for sure, and better than popcorn chicken or chicken strips. very unexpected and so cool. also their ranch is up there with some of the best i've had. it's perfect. we also got tots and crisscut fries. they have 5 different kinds of potatoes. I didn't eat either but they were hot and fresh. they lose a star because we were about to drive away and realized one of our fries weren't in there. when you tip the drive person wouldn't you expect they make double sure everything is included in your order? that was lame. she even looked to make sure we tipped her. girl, earn it. don't get lazy. took another 5 minutes to get our food because of that. whatever, the food was good and hot and fresh. lastly, we signed up for their emails and they already sent an email to thank us for our business. I think that's really cool and good friendly service. you get points for signing up too, and free food. it's worth it. I recommend supporting this local business, they seem to have it right! read more

The people working were very young, but they looked like they were handling everything very well. Especially, the young boy with glasses who was in charge of the shakes area. He stepped in and got everything running smoothly. The girl up front was very kind to me and my kids. They may look young, but they know what they are doing! Their cheese burgers were good and delicious, same with their mozzarella sticks that were perfectly crisp and cheesy. The bathrooms on the other hand were slippery and were slightly dirty with napkins all over the floor so I brought their stars to 4. I will definitely be coming back with all of my kiddos! read more

Boise staple. We've been fanci freeze customers since my kids were little. Always good and the employees are great.

Let's go down the list, Food - I don't know because I did not wait around long enough to receive it after I ordered it five minutes later in a drive-through line with only one car ahead of me. Next, service - I don't know because I did not wait long enough to interact with the associates, other than the microphone person. It was an unbelievably extensive wait for a milkshake and a small fry. There was only one car in front of me in the drive-through and they hadn't gotten their food after five minutes when I pulled away. Ambiance - overcast and rainy, partly sunny in the evenings today. I did not go inside, nor will I. I will not give a place like this a second chance when there are so many other places that have equal or better products in a fraction of the time with great service. It's understandable why there aren't more of these around. I would've had to pay 9.80 something cents for a medium malt and small fries though so that seems a bit excessive to me. read more

I got the Spicy Chicken Sandwich, a side of fries, a side of tater tots, 2 corn dogs, and a massive chocolate shake today, and wow (not all for me btw )! This all came out to only $30, which was well worth it. The spicy chicken honestly wasn't spicy enough for my taste, but the tots and fries were perfectly crispy. The corn dog is the only thing that I felt was priced too high. The milkshake was made with real vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup, which is the right way . The customer service was on point and very friendly, not just to me but also to my little one! I definitely recommend it and will be going back to try the burgers . read more

My family used to really enjoy this restaurant. But sadly the last few times we've come here, the quality has gone way down. The prices are what you'd pay at a sit down restaurant, so it's not a good deal to come here. read more

Came here a little while ago w/ my wife and it was great! Awesome ice cream, awesome food.

They stepped up to help a local woman's health organization and then backed out last minute. The local organization had already shared the post multiple times and Fanci Freez received some negative comments and pulled out. They still received the business though from patrons thinking they were supporting the organization. We love supporting local and Fanci Freez has been around a long time (through changes with ownership). It use to be better. Stella's is better quality when it comes to Ice Cream. read more

I cannot understand this younger generation. I was here about two weeks ago ordered onion rings and they were nowhere near done. It was through the drive-through so I had no idea until I got home how disgusting they were. II thought I'd stop back in today and get a bite and let them know about the not so good onion rings, I asked for a supervisor a young kid came out , didn't even look me in the eye, stood there with his arms crossed. I explained to him about my onion rings, and he started to give me an excuse about something being frozen, and said he would remake my onion rings for me and make sure they were done. my issue is customer service at this establishment and this generation not understanding really how to treat people, especially in the Customer Service business. Oh & my cheeseburger was cold. read more

Onion rings are usually really good. These things are so over cooked they are charcoal. Terrible. I was so looking forward to this and paid $5 for garbage. Fanci Freez - Onion rings burned to a crisp. - Fast Food Near Me - Meridian, Idaho

Went in about 8:30pm Friday night, not to busy. Order was taken quickly. As we were waiting for our order (6 shakes) I saw some children receive their shakes and making faces and saying "this tastes gross". When we got our order, we quickly learned why! All the shakes were bland, tasted like plain vanilla. Grasshopper shakes supposed to be green right? And minty? This was a plain Oreo shake labeled "grasshopper". The cheesecake was just pieces of graham cookies and I added strawberry- no strawberry flavor. Watermelon shake had no flavor either! We also had butter pecan, bubblegum, and root beer flavors. None tasted good at all! I spent $34 and feel like I was ripped off. It's supposed to be Idahos best shake but they all are so bland. Most of the reviews on here are on the food, but we went for the shakes. All my kids were so disappointed. They picked some cool flavors and to taste bland vanilla was pretty upsetting for us all. I'm not coming back here. read more

Independent fast food used to be great but it's gone downhill. You can tell it's a bunch of high school kids just cooking from a fryer and a grill.
