I came here today with my boyfriend to eat breakfast. He ordered an omelette that was delicious and I ordered pancakes that I thought could've been made a little better. I am truly thankful for the manager: Mianca. She checked on me and made sure that I was happy with each part of my meal after the corrections. I know I might've been annoying, but she always came to the table with a smile ready to make my experience the best. I am truly appreciative and will definitely be back! Stood at the counter for 5 minutes before being told to seat ourselves anywhere we wanted (maybe there should be a sign). Ordered orange juice that had something black floating at the top. Understanding that it's fresh squeezed, this looked like a gnat. I sent it back for water instead. But the kicker was my potatoes coming to the table cold. I was a little hesitant to come here with the three star rating, but I was pleasantly surprised. Came here for brunch with some of my old college roommates. We were seated immediately as the place was not packed. The waiters were very friendly and checked up us multiple times throughout our meal. Waters were filled very promptly and the food was very good. I ended up ordered the turkey burger special with home fries. I was expecting a dry turkey patty but was surprised the patty was cooked just right. The burger was topped with tomato, lettuce, and avocado. The avocado was a smart addition because with turkey being a leaner meat, the avocado's creaminess really helped balance the burger. Absolutely a WOW breakfast place. Normally I am not a breakfast gal because of the basicness of dishes. But this place blows it out of the park with how creative the menu is. I had the famous hash, and the corned beef with crispy crispy mashed red potatoes was out of this world. You also get your choice of eggs with hollandaise on top. Oh and your choice of toast! They have sourdough which gets brownie points because it's rare restaurants carry sourdough. My partner got the southwest omelette and they loved it so much that I didn't even get to try a bite. We also spilt the strawberry cream cheese stuffed French toast. I probably could have done without the cream cheese, but that's a personal preference. It didn't take away from the dish at all. It's actually great to help make it savory. OH! Best part is their freaking maple syrup is in a glass bottle and is kept warm-- that's so unheard of! I wish I lived here so I could come back and try the rest of the menu, but sadly I live on the west coast. Absolutely a must try. PS-- the music playlist on a Sunday was fire! Breakfast is good any time of the day & I will gladly eat a huge breakfast & may or may not eat the rest of the day. I am sad to say I have never ate at their locations for any other reason except breakfast. This trip, I had the "build your own omelet" with mushrooms, onions, sausage, & mozzarella cheese. My side was grits & toast. Our waitress was fantastic. Very attentive and friendly. We didn't have to wait too long for our food to arrive. Everything was delicious. Breakfast menu has something for everyone. I hate that I don't go here enough to try different items! Prices are reasonable. Parking can be tricky. I think my only complaint is that they did away with the shredded hash browns. read more

The locations definitely vary. If I was to give a five start it would be for the one in university as they have a better menu and the service never fails me. As for the one in concord, I've only been once and won't be back. The manager was very nice and did compensate us for the inconvenience but how long we waited for our food and the menu being different from the one in university is the reasons I won't be back. read more

First let me say I do like FT but not at this location on Concord Mills Blvd. It is dirty the table sticky, menu greasy...please don't read this part if your about to eat but the bathroom floor look like it had not been cleaned in months, stink and someone must had done #2 and everything still there stained from over a period of time, and of course that included the smell. It was a good, quick brunch. The service, however, could use some polishing for the price you're paying at Toast! Arrived at prime brunch service on Saturday and had a brief 10 minute wait for a table. We got seated and they took our orders quickly. First up, my Southwest Scramble was really good. I wasn't in a spicy mood so I subbed the Jalapeños for green onions and glad I did, it worked great with the rest of the scramble. Corn, tomatoes, onion, cheddar jack, cooked well. Sourdough toast was great but had to wait a while for someone to come by with butter, got a little cold. Their bacon is nice and thick, which gives it a nice crisp while still having a bit of meaty chew in the middle! Girlfriend was a bit under the weather and ordered a simple bowl of grits and two over-medium eggs. They arrived at the table and the second server at this point noticed they were over easy. She took them as is without fuss. Overall was happy with her meal. I've said this about the Davidson location and this one has the same issue: The "Every server is your server" works but communication is key! My cup was empty for much of my brunch, but then after I was almost done I had two servers ask what I was drinking. My original server brought me a soda, then the other brought me one. A third (who I believe was actually the hostess that seated us) then showed up with yet another soda.. I was a little confused as were they. The other issue is the fact that with this concept, no one really takes 'ownership' of individual tables. We were seated by the hostess, our drink and food orders were taken by one server, the food was brought out by another, our original server brought me one drink, two others brought out the other two, then someone else brought out the check. Usually at a sit-down restaurant someone at least says "Hi, how are you" or "Thanks, have a great day!" but this was not the case today. I don't always expect incredible service, but the prices at Famous Toastery warrant that expectation. I mean, $2.99 for a 'bowl' of plain grits that should really be called a 'cup' of grits. A small OJ is $4... Yeah, I would like just a little sliver of hospitality. I hope Saturday's visit was just a fluke, otherwise the Davidson location has this one beat on service. read more

I came here for Sunday brunch with my husband and expected the same experience that I had at the university location. I will say that the vibe is completely different. It's more modern than the down home feel of the university restaurant and I really liked the feel. We were seated within about 10 mins although it appeared as though we arrived right before the crowd. After being seated, Fallon waited on us, although multiple staff members periodically checked on us as they all serve all tables. I ordered the crab roll and pesto pasta salad. My husband ordered the chorizo, spinach, and feta cheese omelet with a side of grits that were AMAZING!! We weren't offered cornbread and apple butter at the university location but we had it at this location and it was excellent! I've never had that combination but can't wait to go back for more! The food was good and seasoned fairly well. I added more seasoning to my pasta salad but left feeling satisfy aha pleased with our experience!! Just ate here and after I finished my drink, I noticed a lipstick print on my glass. I am so disgusted. I asked for my meal to be free, but the manager on duty only took the drinks off as some type of "courtesy." He was very combative as well. I don't need any apologies when my health is involved. I have always experienced good service, but I come with my mom and they ask me, with my older mom, to wait outside because only people who pick up food to go are seating. I can clearly see others who are waiting for tables seating and they were not willing to let my older mom seat. I stayed so I could prove the person seating was indeed waiting for a table and sure enough. We had went there a previous time and the manager remembered us and even asked how our plans went and then told us to have a safe drive home [9hrs]. The food was amazing as well. My mate had a blah blah blah with potatoes [love] and I had the fall waffle with bacon. All the food was DELICIOUS. I highly recommend this place. If I could give it more stars I would! I don't recommend this restaurant!! The bad experience started when we walked into the restaurant and checked in for our online reservation. They said that their tablets were down and even though we received a text saying that they received our reservation 20 minutes ago that we would just be added to their paper reservation list. We were seated about 15-20 minutes later and the server took our order. Approximately 50 minutes after we ordered a server came by and said that the computers went down in the kitchen and they had to reset all of the orders. The table next to us had a group of people there when we were seated and they had already left. Now a new group of people were seated next to us at that table 20 minutes after us and they already had there food. When our food finally came out at the 1 hour ten minute mark the people next to us had eaten and left and another group was seated at that table. The food was average and undercooked but we didn't have another hour to wait for them to fix the issues. The manager came one time during the 1:45 minute breakfast experience to tell us about the issues that they were having. Go anywhere but Famous Toastery!! read more

Got to say, it was pretty good. I always got mixed reviews from friends. The ones that said it's good but expensive were correct. I got the shrimp and grits which was delicious. I also ordered a side of their potato. Needed a bit of salt but they were also very good. Their sweet tea could use some more sugar in my opinion but I know a lot of people that don't like overly sweet sweet tea. All of the ladies I was there with also enjoyed their food but that were also all regulars there. I was the only newbie. They bring soft cornbread to the table with apple butter. Due to the virus I had to order pickup. The Famous Toastery was my number 1 goto. This meal was an under let down. I ordered pancakes with bacon and a bacon egg wrap on spinach. It was just under $25.00. 2 pieces of the bacon were burned and the third was burned and raw at same time. Personally it was as though it was old to me. *just my opinion.* pancakes were burned as well. The wrap started off good until I got to the bacon and it was burned as well overall I finished 1 wrap. Refused to go back to restaurants because I was working due to being an essential employee. I will try them again in the future. read more
