History
Established in 1986.
Famous Bartending School has deep roots in New Jersey. Originally known as Mix ’Em Up and National Bartending School, we rebranded after owner Jesse acquired most of the bartending schools across New Jersey and unified them under one trusted name: Famous Bartending School.
What sets us apart? We’re not just a school. Jesse also owns a working bar, which gives our students something no classroom can offer—real-world experience behind a real bar. Students train where the action happens, serving real customers and learning what it actually takes to thrive in the industry.

Meet the Business Owner: Jessie S.
I’m Jesse, owner of Famous Bartending School—New Jersey’s largest bartending school with locations in Wayne, Newark, and Woodbridge. With 20 years of restaurant and bar experience and 12 years running the school, I’ve acquired and unified bartending schools with roots dating back to 1986 under the mix em up & national bartending name.
Beyond the school, I own Kelly’s Bar in Carteret, NJ, which gives my students something rare: the chance to train in a real bar with real customers. I also run Famous Events, our private bartending company that staffs weddings, corporate events, and private parties across New Jersey.
My goal is simple—give every student the skills, confidence, and real-world experience to succeed behind any bar.
