I absolutely loved my experience here! I would recommend it to anyone that's looking to be the best bartender they can be. The instructors (I had Jessica) are so informative and really have their pulse on what's going on in the real world. She gave us great tips and advice to really advance our skills and make us comfortable and confident behind the bar. They were also amazingly flexible with my schedule and made sure I finished my class no matter the obstacle. What I really loved is that you can come back and practice and learn whenever you need too. Thanks so much! I'm so glad to have gone here! read more

Engaging, fun and affordable. Quick and funny . The classes really helped you and that fake bar seemed like the real deal. The one instructor darryl at the time was constantly saying he was tired. I'm working 100 hrs a week! Ok and?! Only unprofessional thing was hearing that day in and day out. read more

I am extremely disappointed in your school. Henry was a good teacher but Alex, not so much. On the second day of training he said that a Cuba Libre was jack and Coke and everyone looked around at eachother confused. He also said that there was Kahluah in the Sex on the beach and when the class told him there wasn't he said "oh my book has a different recipe". I highly doubt his book had a different recipe, he made a mistake and didn't want to own up to it. That day was the day that we learned the drinks that needed to be shaken and he didn't teach anyone how to shake. People where shaking from left to right by their waist with the glasses horizontal, I taught my partner how to shake the proper way and I am a paying student, I shouldn't be teaching her. The dye used for coloring the fake alcohol leaves your hands colored for days and is not presentable for people who do have a job and need to work the next day. Also, there are labels halfway to almost being peeled off on some of the bottles which doesn't teach people what they look like. Also, I don't think it is very professional to be using acronyms such as "OJ's ASS" or "OJ's VERY TIGHT LITTLE ASS". This is embarrassing to your establishment and makes people not take the class seriously at all. Also, there is mold on every inch of that bar. It absolutely disgusting. It shows the new people that it is okay to have a bar this filthy. It was so gross and very hazardous. This school is such a waste of time And money. I don't want to return due to the bad teaching and the establishment. I was extremely disappointed in the school and would like a full refund since the place is a mess and it's dangerous to be standing in mold for 8 hours straight especially when I know that the Health Department would have a field day in your school. I spoke to them and asked for a refund and they told me no since I had completed days of training already. I had told them that if I found all the poor things out about their establishment on day 1, I would have but everyday was something new going wrong there and they still wouldn't refund me. Don't waste your time and money b read more

I love this place. 1. The price is right! 2. Teachers (Joann) are patient & understanding 3. The less stress you put on yourself the better. 4. Study drinks EVERY CHANCE YOU GET. 5. If you don't graduate you can retake what you failed at no price 6. You can come anytime after graduation if needed. This is even for years. Keep your book or pay $25. But even if you loose your book $25 to come anytime...Can't beat that with a stick. 7. You will NEVER BE SHAMED for mAking a mistake. You will just be told you made a mistake. 8. Linden NJ isn't more than an hr for most. 9. I think I may cry when I leave. Joann is seriously an amazing person. DO NOT JUDGE A BOOK BY IT'S COVER!! read more

Learned so much from Jesse! Took his time and made the class fun and educational at the same time. Highly recommend!

I had no idea what to expect going into class. I learned so much during my 2 weeks of class. Jessie and Gustavo really know what they're talking about. They are willing to stay after class to help with anything a student may be struggling with. I went from having no experience about Bartending to feeling very confident to go promote myself to bars and even on my own for private parties. I feel like my mastery and understanding of Bartending has been clarified by Jessie and Gustavo. They do an awesome job creating situational practice to get you ready for working once graduating. I would definitely recommend this Bartending School! Once attending, you are a lifetime member of Mix 'em Up and are always welcome to brush up your skills. Thank you Jessie and Gustavo! read more

I have a background on working with customers and thought taking a mixology course would be a great way to meet new people and make more money. Walking into Mix'Em Up Bartending immediately gave me the impression that it was going to be a cool and not so strict course thanks to the instructors Dan and Henry (Lindens Mix'Em school). They help walk you through the course without the intimidation of thinking you know at least somewhat about bartending. Any question you ask will be answered in a fun and professional manner without making you feel like a dunce. A friend of mine recommended I take this course and it was literally worth every penny. I'm trying to get several of my friends to take it now and they're already looking into it. read more

I had a wonderful experience at Mix em Up. The instructors I had (Daryl, Joey, and Joanne) were all incredibly knowledgable professionals as well as patient and efficient teachers. From an extensive repertoire of drink recipes to lessons about service industry itself, everything is covered at Mix em Up. The classes are definitely go-at-your-own-pace and the instructors make sure every student is comfortable and confident with each lesson before moving on. It's clear that Mix em Up wants you to succeed and tries its best to set you up for success. I would absolutely recommend you go here if you are considering a career or even a part-time job as a bartender. You will not find the expertise and instruction you get at Mix em Up anywhere else.
