Total lack of transparency! During my tour, my husband and I specifically asked about accreditation. They said "yes" but intentionally omitted that they are NOT CODA-accredited (and haven't been for 5 years). We were led to believe I'd be a CDA upon graduation. Instead, I found out mid-program that I have to work 3,200 hours first--a possible 2-year delay (unless you're doctor feels you're really talented and signs off early)that was never mentioned upfront. The school suggests working during the program to get those hours, but as a day student, most employers won't hire you due to the schedule. It's an impossible cycle. When I reached out for help, the Dean simply piggybacked off my conversation with the head of the department instead of offering a real solution, and the President has yet to respond at all. They try to sweep it under the rug by claiming New Jersey employers "only care about Radiology licenses," which ignores my long-term career growth. Beyond the accreditation, the education is suffering: * Overcrowded Classes: Classes are being merged, leaving teachers overwhelmed. * Lack of Hands-on Training: Labs are rushed and rare. You're expected to learn something once and then not touch it again until your internship. It's all lectures and quizzes. * The "Referral" Insult: They have the audacity to ask for referrals in exchange for two slices of pizza every few weeks while ignoring serious grievances from students paying full tuition. For the price they charge, Fortis needs to do much better. Do your research and ask for specific accreditation names before signing anything here. I joined the MBC program at Fortis Institute-Wayne with real excitement, but the experience became disappointing. I worked hard and kept strong grades, yet the teaching was inconsistent and my externship did not provide the hands‑on training the program promised. When I asked about my grades, GPA, or how awards were decided, the answers were unclear or ignored. The director even said it wasn't her job to send reminders about missing work, even though posting grades and marking assignments as missing or late is how students know what they need to complete. The school also claims to help students find jobs, but they send one email and then they stop. What made it worse is that even the campus president never stepped in, despite me calling and emailing him many times. For the amount of money students pay, the lack of professionalism, support, and transparency is unacceptable. Do not waste your money! I attended the dental program. It was a $19000 loan. I was told upon graduating, I would have all my certificates and be a registered dental assistant. I took the state tests the school told me to and received my passing scores and degree from the school etc. Going forward past graduation, I reached to to the national dental board and found out I'm not registered and had another test which was included in my student loan. I contacted the school whom told me they don't know what happened to my application and they would resend it. This happened 4 times. Finally, I was told by the dental board, so much time had passed waiting for the application from the school, i now have to retake all 5 of my exams in order to take that 1 test. So now, I have to repay for every single test even though it was included in my loan. RIP OFF! You are better off studying and paying for the test all by yourself. read more

Worst excuse for a school/institute I have ever been too in my life and that's being generous labeling it a school when most of the time is spent waiting on the teachers to actually stop napping/ texting/ doing whatever it is besides teaching. They are not properly accredited and only are able to place you in jobs with very little chance of advancements that pay usually $12 an hour not close to enoughto pay back student loans while the school costs upwards of 17,000+ just for a piece of paper saying you graduated no jobs care that you went to fortis. The admissions department is full of liars. They try their best to fail you so that you can't graduate unless you pay for the class again. In no way is this school properly accredited to teach trades. The career placement department once you finish will never call you back and will not help you find jobs like they're supposed to once they're paid your on your own... read more

This is the worst school to ever attend. Not only do you waste your time and money but you dont even learn. The staff can barelt speak english. They also loose all of your papers and then continue to say you never handed anything in. They dont do anythig to a student who came physically at another student and they never return phone calls. They dont place you in a job like they say they will and i recommend going somewhere else. read more

well, I graduated the biotech course. the job placement is nothing more then them lining you up with staffing agency. they placed me at a well known cosmetics company so I was excited to start my work in a lab but really I'm in a warehouse, the warehouse isn't even attached to the lab. so basically I went to school to become a warehouse worker. I don't use any lab tools I was trained on in school. all I use is a box cutter and a tape gun. I'm in a very physical and dirty environment. the only thing that was a plus was I got the highest pay rate I've ever received, $16/hour. But, seeing as how this job is an hour away from home, and I spend $60 a week on tolls plus another $40 on gas, and now I start paying back my student loan this month, its really like I'm making the least I've ever made, plus another $150 monthly bill with the loan. oh and did i mention i have to drive about 15 miles when told to to another warehouse because some stuff gets shipped there instead of here? Also its a temp position and the company made sure I knew for sure it wasn't a temp to hire, just a temp position. So they have a revolving door of temps that they don't have to supply with benefits. I would have been better off spending that year of school at my old retail job and possibly getting a raise and even if I didn't I would be in the same boat that I am right now. If it was a shitty job that I was at the very least gaining experience for any future jobs, I wouldn't care half as much I wouldn't care at all actually. But its not. I saw this job listed on craigslist and the requirements are "GED a plus but not required. Speaks English. Has own vehicle" DONT GO TO FORTIS UNLESS YOU HAVE TIME AND MONEY TO BLOW!!!!!!! read more
