I typically go to drop off clothes and shoes in their bed for donations. I have had occasion to go inside and interact with the staff. A few years ago I went inside to inquire about first aid training. It just so happens the guy asked me was I teach him. I thought he was psychic can I said yes. But he told me the reason he asked is because they give a discount to teachers. At the time I think it was $15 total price. Don't quote me on it. Other than that is long-standing always serves the community and I'm glad to see that it has been a Mainstay after all of my years in this area.

This was my first time donating blood and everyone was so kind and helpful informing me about the process of donating. I ended up getting very nauseous and faint the last 20 seconds of my blood being drawn and one of the nurses held a bag for me while I was sick. He was so kind and made me not feel embarrassed or ashamed, and assured me that getting sick after your first blood draw is common. (I think his name is Mark) but him and the rest of the staff truly made what could have been a negative experience into a positive one. :)

I really didn't leave this course feeling any more confident than when I went in, which was a major bummer.
