Famous Apples You get 3 stars for taste and the other two missing are because the attendant behind the corner wasn't the friendliest. No smile No sense of humor No nothing he was just blah. It's a dessert place Lol but it is stressed spelled backwards (dont kill the messenger) Anyway I brought my son to fulfill his sweet tooth which was one order ended up with two smh Lol. Crepes with banana's strawberry and Nutella I asked for whipped cream but didn't get it on there. Its ok I'll be back and hoping this time the young man behind the counter has a smile on his face. Every time it's either closed or none of the good flavors are there. But yeah around the holidays (of corse not on the holiday) it's just randomly closed all day or will close early out of no where. Driving there and parking is already a pain. I just have to find a new spot ig. Also they too pricey anyways. read more

The apples are incredible, but unfortunately, the place always smells like a toilet. Seriously, I cannot spend more than two seconds there without gagging. Love the apples so I just told my nose and hope they can get to me quickly and give me the apple so I can pay for them. I went in and bought a Halloween Carmel Apple last month and it was fine, as far as carmel apples go. There's never any other customers in the store every time I go in and there's hardly any stock in the display cases. So, I'm giving them 5 stars because they need the business but I certainly won't be going back into the store to spend $10 an apple. I have no doubt that high prices are keep everyone away, as well. read more

A bit disappointed to say the least. When I went in today, they were out of the original Peanuts caramel apple (which is the only reason I made the drive from LA) but no worries, I decided to try the Granola Apple as it's also covered in caramel but with granola instead of peanuts. When I got home, the apple tasted awful. The caramel wasn't caramel at all, it was almost like a toffee flavor and the texture was grainy, rather gross and completely falling off the apple from how thick it was. I love Famous Apples but this was not a great experience. I'm not sure if they changed the caramel they were using or what exactly the situation was but I ended up throwing the apple away after one bite. Waste of money. read more

Cute little hidden store at the mall, with some really pretty and unique candy apples. Prices seem fair, starting at $6 for Carmel. You can get some really fancy ones for a few bucks more. I wish they used paper or cardboard containers instead of plastic containers- I asked her if they had the option, she said "yes" and then handed me the apple in a plastic container- put into a paper bag. Apples...get them Candy Apples! I love Toffee apples but we don't have them in India so I try to have them everytime on my trip to US. A very good friend of mine found this store and we drove to Northridge only for candy apples. They have a wide variety of buji apples if you like chocolate caramels and toppings. I'm legitimately upset I'm just finding this now. This felt like walking into that board game, Candyland. But with apples. Whatever you can imagine, they've already got it on the menu. This place is SO good! It like a little piece of Disneyland but without breaking the bank. Whenever I'm at the Northridge mall I make sure to pick up my favorite peanut caramel apple. They have a great selection of candy apples and caramel apples as well as apples with chocolate and many more yummy toppings. I love that it's open til 10 most nights. The service is always good and they even ask you if you'd like your apple sliced! There's a few tables to sit and enjoy your sweet treat inside & of course outside as well. If you don't want a caramel apple they also have a freezer with ice cream sandwiches & different flavor Paletas. I highly recommend this place! read more

What a delightful treat! My friend knew I love caramel so she brought me a wonderful caramel apple. It was really delicious and had a nice amount of Carmel. It came pre-sliced per her request. She also came over with a rocky road Apple and a champs Apple which were also great. Nothing compares to the Carmel Apple I was given though! I ate it so fast that I didn't think to take a photo! I am sad I did not but I will have to revisit this place myself so I can enjoy my Apple in the establishment. My friend said the service was great, friendly and fast! That is just what I look for when I go to such a place. I cannot wait to return and get some lovely photos for my review! read more

This is a great hidden gem. The apples are delicious and the way they mixed with the spice and sweet coating makes it melt in your mouth. They also have candied almonds and peanuts which is delicious. This is a great spot to go for a great dessert after you are done eating a great meal at H2O which is next door. The staff is great and are always helpful. Parking is best if you park towards the end of lot across from public storage. read more

Cute little candy apple spot with fresh juice and other dessert offerings! Rainbow juice ($6.95+tax) is really sweet and refreshing and I appreciate that it's more of a smoothie, so I get all the fiber and vitamins not just the water. I also got the English Toffee Apple ($7.50+tax) which was the perfect balance of sweet and tart. I love that they cut the Apple into wedges to make it easier to eat. I forgot to check in to get 10% off my apple, but will definitely come back to try some other flavors. Come support this local business! read more

I took a risk and bought a ticket for a pop up 2 weekend Dessert Goals event in Echo Park. As a Celiac, it could have been a total waste of time and money but they offered enough from the 22 dessert vendors along with additional drink vendors to make the experience fun. I bumped into Famous Apples and had to try one of their large and delicious caramel apples. These babies come in various flavors and provide a wide choice. I'm sure you can't go wrong. I came in yesterday around 7ish with my friend. & the place was empty the young man seemed new which no worries. But he took extremely long to make a crepe & to top it off the crepe wasn't it even cooked right!!!!! It was honestly so disgusting. He first couldn't flip or even get the crepe correctly on the pan thing he's put it in. There was this shorter man who came out after to help somebody else. But couldn't help his employer. Anyway. For someone who knows what it's like working with melted chocolate, I can appreciate a place who has readily available items to choose from. What I don't appreciate is lack of business-minded/customer service knowledgeable people. I stood in their very warm store for about 10 minutes without being acknowledged. I probably should've walked out after minute 5, but I didn't. Finally someone came out from the back and provided fast-enough service. Got my apples and off I went. This was my second time in this store. First time I was swooned in by their "nachos" but they were a disappointment, But! I got ideas to do my own. I dislike leaving bad reviews , but I had to.... Wow , I have never seen the saddest Crepe in my life . It has ONE , one single strawberry . One of the best tamarind chamoy apples I have tried. The bite was bursted of flavors from salty, sweet, spicy to sour. I love everything chamoy, but this is the next level! Way more better than the chamoy candies. You can buy them individually in a cute box (which can be given as a small gift) or have them cut it in store and enjoy it right then and there. I wouldn't wait long. But the only thing was that it doesn't last long and start getting mushy the next day. So only have them sliced the apple if you are going to eat it in the next few hours. If you buy extra for the next day or 2, just leave it intact lol read more

There were 6 registers: 5 are for the pre-order/pre-paid, and the 1 was for the walk-ins. The issue is that the walk-in line is super long, while the pre-order/pre-paid line had no more than between 6 to 8 people. Staff on the 5 registers informed walk-in customers that management told them they are only ring up pre-order/pre-pay. Meanwhile, walk-in customers would suffer because of some idiotic management decision, and they are too obtuse to fix a simple problem to solve. RIDICULOUS!!! Lesson learned, best to pre-order/pre-pay for next year at least 2 week ahead. If you wait too late, they will not accept anymore pre-order/pre-pay. The good news: we very much enjoyed the honey baked ham, pork roast, mash & gravy, and baby back ribs were awesome!!!

A Korean friend told me about this place so you know it's hot among people in the know. It's really clean inside and organized. And the staff member was helpful with my questions. Don't sleep on this because it has lots of cuts of non-marinated meat for whatever recipe you want, and also everything you might want for cooking Korean style meats!

At first I was hesitant to enter because it didn't have any Yelp listing and It doesn't look like much from the outside, but I am so glad I tried it! When you step inside it is a very small, nondescript interior, but all the meat I've tried so far is fresh and tasty! I got a pound of pastor the first time I went there, just to test it out and I am so happy I gave it a try! The pastor is flavorful and it is just the right amount of spice without being overpowering... it reminds me of pastor from a carniceria I used to shop at in El Sereno when I was a kid. During my second visit at Bendicion, I met Kion (sp?), who is family member and he was very friendly and helpful. He recommended the ranchero bisteca preparado, which is basically the uncooked version of carne asada, I think? They sliced it fresh and seasoned the meat in front of me so I was very excited to grill it at home! We just finished dinner and it was absolutely fresh and delicious! I also got their house made pork chorizo, which we haven't cooked yet but I'm sure it is fantastic like the rest. So far I am very impressed by the spectacular flavors and quality of meats. This was my second visit and I'll be sure to return again soon for more! As a side note, Kion also mentioned his mom is starting a taco catering business, which is the phone number I listed here on Yelp. He said his mom doesn't speak much English though so you may need to be a Spanish speaker to book them for catering, unless Keion is around to help translate.

The customer service was excellent as they let us wander around to see what they have! The store sells a variety of candies, chips, ice cream, pinatas, and toys! The prices are fair and we appreciated the variety of things they had for sale! They sell a huge selection of American products as well as Mexican products.
