I stumbled upon this place while getting my nails done at the nail shop next door and I was pleasantly surprised at the freshness and quality of this Carniceria! At first I was hesitant to enter because it didn't have any Yelp listing and It doesn't look like much from the outside, but I am so glad I tried it! When you step inside it is a very small, nondescript interior, but all the meat I've tried so far is fresh and tasty! I got a pound of pastor the first time I went there, just to test it out and I am so happy I gave it a try! The pastor is flavorful and it is just the right amount of spice without being overpowering... it reminds me of pastor from a carniceria I used to shop at in El Sereno when I was a kid. During my second visit at Bendicion, I met Kion (sp?), who is family member and he was very friendly and helpful. He recommended the ranchero bisteca preparado, which is basically the uncooked version of carne asada, I think? They sliced it fresh and seasoned the meat in front of me so I was very excited to grill it at home! We just finished dinner and it was absolutely fresh and delicious! I also got their house made pork chorizo, which we haven't cooked yet but I'm sure it is fantastic like the rest. So far I am very impressed by the spectacular flavors and quality of meats. This was my second visit and I'll be sure to return again soon for more!
As a side note, Kion also mentioned his mom is starting a taco catering business, which is the phone number I listed here on Yelp. He said his mom doesn't speak much English though so you may need to be a Spanish speaker to book them for catering, unless Keion is around to help translate. read more
