I was so excited to read about this new store... an odd lot;job lot;big lot;place with bargains. In…read morereality, it was very disappointing. The concept is that you grab a bag and sift through cardboard boxes of stuff and fill up your bag. Depending on the day you come, the prices change. Monday's price is $3; on Tuesdays it's $2 for each item in the box, etc... down to a 25 cents "blowout" on Thursday morning... until they restock and start the week again. I don't know if the people who came over the weekend and paid $6 an item got all the bargains, but we didn't see even one thing that we considered buying. It was just big cardboard boxes lined up and very awkward to reach into that had piles of the same junk in it -- items you'd find left over from a sale in a flea market. Around the perimeter were drug store and grocery items marked at supposedly 50 percent off the retail price. Again nothing that was of any interest to us. And that's saying a lot when I can't find at least one thing to spend my money on. I'm glad I came -- so I won't feel like I've missed out on anything. Now I know.

Store feels cluttered and slightly dark. We walked in to find only one other visitor on Saturday afternoon. We heard staff making up prices in back area for incoming items. It felt like rock, paper, scissors. Hmmm .... They proudly offer they are a Target Store liquidator now. Interesting as at least 1/2 the store did not look like regular Target merchandise. The pricing now is full retail and then a discount of 35% off. Todays special was slightly higher. They also warned that credit card would add a 3% charge. (Being in financials, they should check processor contract as Visa/MC do not commonly allow this) It was not what we wanted and left. Not knocking their decision to go this route, but doubt we would return. The original business design seemed to offer more possibilities and just needed some better execution. We do wish them luck ....

But they seem they are organizing things better as time goes along. They have some of EVERYTHING from food stuffs to furniture, toys, clothes, shoes, towels, sheets, bug zappers, light bulbs, paper ware, fancy water bottles, car seat covers, blankets, aspirin, deodorant, dishes, electronics, watches, big TVs, paper shredders, wine coolers, generators, safes- those big cast iron ones that survive infernos-----I still left a ton of stuff off this list haha......be aware that scratch and ding and retaped boxes of repackaged stuff rule here. I go mainly because I'm intrigued every time I go. Its unsuspectingly located in a huge warehouse, a short business row. From the front, it is quite nondescript, next to a dental office. Once inside, it can be overwhelming. You can wander around inside for hours discovering items tucked away in nooks and crannies, inspecting goods for missing parts and defects, looking for that "steal deal". Most of the items look like Costco returns and overstock items. Lots of Kirkland around. I got this really cool 2 person Tommy Bahama beach tent that compacts down into a tiny shoulder bag for $15--it scanned $60 on amazon price check, but I had to search through a bunch of them to piece part a complete one to take for myself. Also, some stuff, being a loyal Costco member myself, seemed really over priced for the not-great condition it may have been in. Check expiration dates! Customer service is usually pretty good, too. They get it that its controlled chaos, and they do their best to help you sort through it. In the winter, be prepared to be bulldozed in th aisles like you don't exist by some lovely visitors who, I've witnessed, argue for hours with the cashiers about the clearly posted "no money back, all sales final" policies----waiting in line, you see it on everyone else's faces "it was a dollar, really? Unlike maybe, YOU, I've got to get back to work!" Workers have been awesome for me, though, with exchanges if you talk to them with decent respect and reasonableness. Gee. Fun.

Re: Store# 4368 801 S. University Dr…read more Suite D100-A Plantation FL 33324-3366 On December 10, 2025, at around 4:20 PM, I attempted to return a defective item. The handle was split, and I even took a photo to show the damage. When I approached the register to explain the situation, a man--who identified himself as the store or branch manager--immediately spoke to me in a rude and dismissive manner. He told me he could not accept the return without a ticket. For context, the item did not have a price tag when I bought it. It rang up as $4, which was already confusing given how inconsistent the store's pricing often is. Many items do not show their true price until checkout. I explained that I had my receipt and had purchased the item just a week earlier. I suggested he could grab another identical item from the back and use that ticket to process the return. Instead of helping, he became combative and accused me of using and breaking the item. I told him that it is defective. I told him he could check the back for the product, but he refused and insisted they had no more--without even looking--claiming he "knew what was in the store." Another associate (cashier) then told me I should "just superglue it together," which I found unprofessional and dismissive. The manager was rude, arrogant, and unwilling to provide any assistance. When I told him I would be contacting corporate, he simply walked away. He was also wearing only a green shirt with no identification, so I have no way of knowing who he actually was. Additionally, the receipt lists no return policies or guidelines. When I asked where the return policy was posted, he could not provide an answer. I have returned items at Dollar Tree before and have never had an issue. This product was clearly defective, and the customer service I received was unacceptable.

The selection of items is always crazy and I love being able to walk up and down each aisle finding cool stuff such as wax melts that smell amazing or cool holiday stuff. They currently have an insane amount of Easter items and I have found some yummy candy that I'll eat and pack in some Easter baskets. The staff here is hit or miss and more times then none they seem to be bothered to be working. There are a handful of workers at any time and they are always stocking the shelves or helping guests check out. I do wish that the check out had more than one person helping because the check out line is always crazy long when I am trying to pay for my items and leave. Overall a good dollar tree and being close to me is an added bonus!

I have shopped this kind of discount store before and for me it is hit and miss depending on what they have in that day. Here they have the bins in the middle of the store. What you pay depends on the day of the week, Friday's $12, Saturday's $10, Sundays $8. By the time you get to Wednesday everything in the bins is $4. They restock on Thursday evenings. I stopped in on a Friday afternoon so the bins had the best selection but they were also the most expensive. In addition to the bins they have other items around the perimeter of the room at set prices, up to 90 percent off retail. I saw clothing, a lot of perfume, household items, holiday decorations, and small appliances. The friendly staff was at the ready to open any boxes I wanted to see and plug in the appliances to verify they worked. I saw a Le Creuset stock pot for only $29. They had a lot of household goods like dishes, sheets, blankets, pillows, and decorations. If you are setting up a new home and aren't picky this would be an inexpensive way to do so. If you are set on a specific brand you may find yourself out of luck. While I left empty handed it is always fun to stop and check out this kind of store because you never know what you will find.
