Service by this company has been tremendously helpful during a tough time for our family. I can't say enough about how the professional staff has guided us through the decisions on amount of care needed by my father and the types of care. The caregivers were on time, capable and friendly. Most importantly, the staff fulfilled their promise of helping us figure out the insanely complicated steps of getting my father's long-term care insurance company to cover costs. I cannot say enough good things about this company and its meeting of its promises. Please note that they offer two types of caregivers: contractors and staff. Don't be cheap and pick the contractors. Pay the minimal extra, and you will get huge benefits of support from the professional staff. read more

I would give this 10 stars if I could. I cannot say enough positive things about Family & Nursing Care, both in terms of the office staff and the caregivers. I needed immediate help for my father when he was discharged from rehab. The person who answered the phone at Family & Nursing Care completely understood my situation and found the most amazing, caring, responsible caregivers to assist my father starting that very day. My father felt comfortable with the caregivers right away. They were his lifeline. They cared about him as if he were their father. I'm convinced he made a quick recovery because of these wonderful Family & Nursing Care caregivers. Now that he no longer needs help everyday, Family & Nursing Care has found caregivers to help him 3 days/week, to transport him to dialysis and light housekeeping. It takes such a huge burden off of me to have the help of these fantastic caregivers who I know are looking out for him when I'm not around. I would recommend this agency to anybody that wants to the best care for their loved ones. read more

The main challenge with this agency is the fact that they use contractors as their homecare providers - so the homecare providers call off alot, quit, and don't follow instructions. They also don't know how to prepare basic, healthy American meals. For example, they'll put a frozen dinner in the airfryer or cook a grilled cheese in the microwave. I don't think they receive training either. read more

I would never use this agency again. The person who was supposedly providing postoperative care for me for roughly 3 1/2 days didn't interact with me at all. She sat in a chair in my relatively small apartment at a point farthest away from me and barely interacted with me at all. I guess she was too busy speaking on her 'phone and listening to her music. I had asked her to keep a running list of the meds I had taken over this period. Here's an exact replicate of what that list says: 11:30 pm - - she took medication; 3:38 am - - she took medication; 4 pm - - she took diazepam. I had just been discharged from a hospital after major spinal surgery. There's absolutely no way in which, over the course of 3 1/2 days, I took medication only 3 times, and in 2 of those instances, there's not even any mention of the meds that I supposedly took. This is gross incompetence and I am in the process of seriously considering bringing a lawsuit against FNC. And, to add insult to injury, you have the audacity to charge me for this. You gotta be kidding! read more

We have been using Family & Nursing Care for years now, for my dad who has dementia. We could not be more thrilled with the care; ALL of the caregivers have been fantastic. They not only do all the things we hoped they would do, but they go above and beyond. Our dad is thriving from the positive human interaction, and seems so happy. They are also both happy to communicate with my brother and me on a regular basis, which we so appreciate. Not only are the caregivers wonderful, but the whole process has been such a positive experience. It seems like everyone who works at FNC is fantastic. I have used this company over many surgeries and many years. They are run with the greatest and consistent employees. The Aides are intelligent, self starters and look for things they can do which are helpful to the patients surroundings. Their professionalism and kindness go a very long way for the Patient. I find their employees to be quick, pleasant and obviously love their jobs. It shows. I cannot say enough great things about this company but it is the reason I keep going back to them. read more

There is no point if the caregiver doesn't show up. They still manage to charge you (bookkeeping oversight). Why pay a fortune to these people for terrible caregivers if they can't bother to get someone to show up for work? Dealing with these people was a nightmare. Every time they made an error same line, "I'll let the team know". Obviously the team is totally incompetent, why don't you take responsibility? This is how you lose clients. read more

I have been pleased with family and nursing care and especially with the excellent caregivers they provided. They were flexible and allowed us to hire someone for only 2 hours per day, and they were able to provide both weekend and week daycare with just two caregivers. We did not have to switch around to a lot of different caregivers to get coverage and the caregivers are always prompt and courteous. Both are proactive and do not sit around looking at their telephones as I have experienced in other situations. read more

They have worked tirelessly to ensure that coverage is in place. My mother has dementia and does better when she recognizes the person coming to see her. Covid has been the cause for several 12th hour restrictions being put in place by Acts-Fairhaven. It's not unusual for me to answer my phone long after business hours with a question regarding my mother's plan of care. I both appreciate that they're not leaving until the job is done but also that they want to keep me informed in real time! read more

From our first contact, this agency helped us feel supported at a very tumultuous time in our mother's life. Setting things up was seamless, the staff was very responsive to our needs. We were prepared for more chaos and stress, but instead the caregivers stepped in and provided an unexpected level of care and stability for our mother, and therefor the entire family. Under their care our mother is thriving and able to enjoy life again. For this we are very grateful. read more

I have mixed feelings for this care agency. The week day aid that came to support my father in hospice and allow my mother peace of mind to sleep was amazing. She was well skilled and trained and comforting. But the weekend aid rose Marie was unprofessional as she slept on the job. My father requires a high level of care and an aid sleeping on the job did not allow anyone peace of mind and required me to stay up half the night to do the care myself. I am hopeful the new aid they send will be similar to my first experience which was extremely positive. Family members deserve the best care and I am optimistic that this agency can make the changes needed to do that for my family. read more

Family & Nursing cared for my 94 year old parents 24/7 after my mother fell and broke both arms. My parents loved every one of the care givers. They were all kind, professional and trust worthy. One addition to add to my review. Family & Nursing Care did not fire the caregivers who showed up reeking of alcohol or the one who walked out, leaving my front door wide open. ( I am currently bedridden and completely dependent on caregiving, so I was helpless in the event of an emergency) even though both violated the agency's rules and state law. Because of this, my lawyer is filing complaints with the State Board of Licensing against both caregivers and the agency. read more

I highly recommend Family & Nursing Care! We made the mistake of initially choosing a different company. After enduring an endless stream of inattentive (sleeping, etc), and downright odd caregivers from that other company, I called Family & Nursing Care. They provided perfect fit caregivers who are kind, caring, and above all - attentive! It is so wonderful to finally have peace of mind that our mother (who is a high fall risk) is safe and well cared for! The office staff is very professional, friendly, and committed to customer satisfaction. Also worth noting that 24/7 care is now provided by just 4 people who provide continuity in care; the other company was sending 6 people and often sent substitutes/replacements. read more
