This company is terribly disorganized. Communications and follow-through and abysmal! I am a disabled senior woman. I am recovering from major foot reconstruction surgery on my foot. After a fall right after my surgery I spent 4 days in the hospital. I have an injured elbow, a serious balance disorder and nerve pain in the same leg as my foot surgery. I'm a serious fall risk. Upon my hospital discharge 6 days ago, the hospital and my surgeon referred me to Caregivers for PT, OT, Nurses, and a home health aide. So far I saw a nurse 4 days ago who recommended a wheelchair for me, but did NOTHING about ordering one for me. I've had to coordinate all of that myself. Two other nurses have called to see me just days after the initial visit. I saw a PT today who seemed to have limited knowledge of my other physical complaints. The OT I coordinated myself. The home health aide? So far she's just a promise that has failed to materialize. Both my social worker and my doctor's office have reached out to Caregivers multiple times for the last 4 days, and each time they're told that "it's all coordinated, I just have to wait". It's been 10 days since I last bathed. I'm miserable! If you're good with do-it-yourself home healthcare, this is the company for you. From my perspective, I want caregivers who really care about caring for the people they've been contracted to care for. read more

Finding Caring Givers was an answer to my prayers. I work full time, but very much want to keep my 85 year-old mother (who has Alzheimer's) at home with me. When I contacted Caring Givers, Demetrius shared his story of taking care of his dad, and assured me that he could help us. What impressed me most initially was his desire to sit and meet with Mom and I in our home so that he could assess our needs in person. We then talked at length about who would be a good fit for her and why. Both caregivers we've worked with so far have been excellent. And Demetrius continues to visit periodically to ensure the quality of service remains strong. Dee and Nakita took care of my MIL for the last 3 years of her life. They allowed my stubborn FIL to keep her at home, while we lived in a different state. They provided much needed social interactions for my in-laws and alerted us when she had acute events. They took her to doctors appointments and ensured that the doctors called us during or after the appointments. They also visited her every time she was hospitalized. They were professional, caring, and handled my FIL's temper with grace. The rate was very reasonable, with a small increase during the 3 year period. I cannot say enough great things about Caring Givers. My aunt was diagnosed with Terminal cancer a year and a half ago. Living in another city and trying to handle her situation remotely seemed impossible. From the moment I contacted Caring Givers I felt like everything was completely under control. My aunt was doing very well until last December and Dee called me and told me that I needed to come and be with her and that she needed full time care and hospice. I am forever grateful. He setup full time care for her in her last month and not only were they taking care of her but they also took care of me as watching someone so close to me go through the dying process was painfully hard. Dee stopped by daily with anything we needed and even brought me dinner. Pam passed away peacefully in January and Dee and Nakita still check in on me almost daily to see how I am doing. I called to try to secure a home care worker for my aunt who has MS. D from Caring Givers conducted a free home consultation with my aunt, however I was not present and my aunt got confused when relaying what was discussed to me. When I addressed this discrepancy with D, he basically accused my aunt of trying to assail his character, rather than understanding that MS affects people's cognitive abilities and that they had had a misunderstanding. He also said that he would call me after the consultation, but never did, rather he left it up to my aunt with cognitive deficits to initiate the call. He ultimately wasted 20 more minutes of my time on the phone before telling me (on Thursday) that he wouldn't provide care for my aunt on Saturday because he didn't feel comfortable. He also acted as though I was being unreasonable for wanting an assurance that he would not send an old person to help my aunt, seeing as she is bedridden and needs a helper who can lift her and assist her out of bed. They were unprofessional, and if they a client with very mild cognitive deficits makes him uncomfortable, I can't imagine they could ever provide care for anyone with dementia or other common illnesses. He also had a summer sale price advertised on care.com, but then told me a higher price on the phone. Don't waste your time. read more
