Don't waste your money. Crab balls tasted griity. Stuffed shrimp more filler under cooked broccoli when asked for well done and cool like warm tater tots. Friendly server but very busy on her phone. read more

Second time here any this place is AMAZING!!! The service at the bar is excellent. Bonnie Jo and Rob were both so attentive. The food is always good and they have awesome beers on tap. read more

Returned to Fallston Barrel House just for the opportunity to have their Barrel House Shrimp appetizer! All of the food is great but the shrimp is exceptional. read more

Please support this great bar/restaurant in Fallston! They now have raw oysters...they were amazing! Their shrimp appetizer is another deliicious dish along with the bourbon chicken wings. We haven't tried it yet, but they are also steaming crabs (eat in or carry out). Have had their burgers and the turkey avocado BLT both top notch! Looking forward to our next visit. The brews are thumbs up too!!! I'm now trying the Apple Cider Mule made with Weber's Apple Cider, ginger beer and brown sugar bourbon...soooo good! read more

Fallston Barrel House - The Apple Cider Mule - Wine Bars Near Me - Fallston, Maryland

Never order a Filet there, they use incredibly poor cuts of meat. The one I got was very fatty and still had the silver on it. It also tasted like they soaked it in salt... it was absolutely terrible... read more

Ordered the trifecta gumbo this evening. Advertised as having andoule sausage shrimp and chicken. When brought to the table there was not a single shrimp on the plate. Sent back... Returned with shrimp. The dish had no chicken and 3 tiny pieces of sausage. Now I know why the restaurant is empty and the lot across the street is always full.... read more

I am a big fan of this place. I've visited multiple times, but finally have managed to sit down and write a review. I only did beer and appetizers tonight, but was still very happy with my meal. The beer selection is not large, but it is a solid, high quality selection and they have no problem with letting you taste beers before making a purchase. I have had many fabulous meals here. Tonight I had the Rockfish bites. They were perfectly seasoned and fried; tender and delicious. The sauce served on the side, also delightful. I definitely recommend this place. read more

We decided to give this place a try on Sunday night for the first time. We had a group of 5 plus a kiddo. Place was pretty empty, not a shock since it was 430pm on a Sunday. My wife and I both had the Bacon Wrapped Jalapeño Meatloaf, with mashed potatoes and bbq sprouts. It was very good and we had plenty for dinner the next day, and it was still good. We also had the rock fish bites, they tasted fresh and had a great light breading. Our waitress was very nice and helpful, my daughter is 13 months and they were very nice and accommodating. Our only complaint would be that the dining room had a slight smell, but not enough to bother us during our meal. We will definitely be back and hop the food will be just as good. read more

2nd time to the Fallston Barrel house. great food both times.. I just finished the Shimp and grits, they were fantastic. The buffalo chicken dip appetizer with pretzel bites was perfect. not to rich and just the right amount of heat. Even my makers mark and Pepsi was perfectly done. we will be back... read more

Stopped in for takeout for the first time. Food was ready on time. Got it home 25 minutes later and was still great. Got the barrel house burger with an egg cooked perfectly medium rare. Egg was actually perfectly runny. I love a messy delicious burger where you really don't want to put it down. I didn't and crushed it. Mozzarella sticks were on point! Breaded shrimp was a touch soggy but after 30 minutes or so in the container there was nothing to complain about shrimp tasted great. Carolina mustard wings also were perfect. Thanks to everyone there especially the swamped hostess!! Well done guys we'll be back and the buttermilk chicken sandwich was honestly superb. And the coleslaw was delicious and I hate coleslaw. We'll be driving past koopers and manor tavern for now on!! read more

Great entertainment, lots of events, great food and staff. Menu has many options.

This place had friendly, quick service. They had great craft beer options as well as top shelf whiskey.

Not impressed with this place at all. The food was not so so and the service was terrible. Needless to say we won't be back here for a long long time. read more

Cream of crab soup was really good. Meal was priced accordingly. Server was nice. We will go back. Only part I see needed to do was warm the interior of the restaurant up a few degrees. It was a bit chilly in there at first. read more

Barrelhouse Old Fashion was just gross. Tasted like Canadian whiskey with seltzer. Food was mostly done wrong and two of the six in our party had to wait 40 minutes AFTER everyone else received their food even though we ordered at the same time. Kitchen is slow and no attention to detail, server was clueless but a nice guy. Other than beer, I will avoid from now on. Staff needs training badly. read more

Good food, good beer list, good service, but the band was so loud I couldn't really talk to/hear the person I was dining with.

First time eating here and pleasantly surprised. Food was great and service was excellent. Kids ordered Mac & cheese and chicken nuggets, both of which were homemade. Drink prices are a tad high, but there is a good draft selection from local breweries. read more

I work across the street.. The food is amazing... The only reason they aren't getting 5 Stars is because the three times I've gotten take-out I waited over 20 minutes longer than when they told me it would be ready... Almost got fired... but the food might be worth it... Try the Meatloaf or Pork Ribeye... and don't miss the BBQ Brussel Sprouts !!! read more

Came for dinner with the family over the weekend and couldn't have been happier, especially with our service. Dean was our server, extremely attentive and pleasant! Drinks were never empty and most importantly food was great! BBQ Brussels sprouts were amazing and so was the turkey avocado sandwich. Will be coming back again! read more

We love this place! Sundays is our favorite day to stop by. Chris is the best all-time server. The food is great. They have the best ribs. They are so tender and fall right off the bone. Rock bites and bbq brussel sprouts are delicious. Bartender is great. Yes we love this this place very much and will keep coming back. read more

Great menu selection, but pricey. The first time we went here the service was horrible, it took 50 minutes for our food to come out. But I gave them a break because it was a brand new restaurant, went back and the service was mich better. They have a good beer selection and the bartender made my husband a great old fashion. The crab soup was good, as well as the crab cakes. However, I would not order those again. read more

Food was pretty good but space felt really tight for a building that looks so big. A big miss for this place is that they don't take advantage of wanting to be a whiskey bar....they should have a drink menu with whiskey drinks. This could get people that don't normally drink whiskey to try a drink made with it and they could come back more often to try whiskey. They could probably have some food specials with whiskey too. read more

Everything was perfect! The meatloaf was incredible, Brussels sprouts were good. The buffalo chicken nachos and the meatballs were so good I ordered another of each to bring to my family. read more

The food was delicious! I had to their chicken with tomatoes and spinach on a bed of mashed potatoes with a pesto sauce - so good! Hubby had the ribs, which he loves and rarely gets out as his are good - but decided to try them and have them a 9 out of 10, good and tender. The service is a bit slow but wasn't crowded and we were in no hurry - enjoyed throughly ;) read more

We are new to Maryland and stumbled upon the Fallston Barrel House. We have now become regulars as the food is outstanding, every employee is friendly and helpful, the on-tap craft beer selection is outstanding, and the atmosphere is unmatched. Because of the pandemic, they setup an outstanding takeout area to protect their patrons as we continued to order meals in support. There are three levels of outdoor seating to accommodate everyone. I cannot say enough about the Barrel House, so give it a try. read more

Visited during the "soft opening". Food is excellent!!! Finally a nice joint in Fallston!!!!

Tried for the first time this past Saturday, and I wasn't overly impressed. The place was packed, and our server advised they were short staffed that night. Perhaps that played into our lackluster experience. The dining room felt very claustrophobic and had a strange musty smell. Service was really, really slow (but we were prewarned). I got the Salmon with mango salsa dish and I wouldn't recommend it. The fish was over cooked and like sawdust in the mouth, the rice was salty and the salsa was mush. My S/O got the half rack of ribs, he was happy with them, but the sweet potato fries were cold. I was really disappointed considering how pricey this place was. 2 entrees, 4 drinks, $90. read more

Place was packed with patrons. There was a 45 minute wait. So we headed down stairs of the restaurant to get drinks while we waited. Totally different decor from the upstairs. Downstairs looked more like a low budget family restaurant. We noticed several tables were open but we still had to wait. Finally we were seated, we didn't get a server until we had to flag someone down. Our impromptu server apologized since she had two large parties and it wasn't her section but she helped us. We ordered and finally got our food. The ahi tuna app was good. The smoke wings were dry and hard appeared deep fried due to the texture of the skin. The gumbo was flavorful. My friend's ribs was smothered in sauce. I would guess their boiled. It looked similar what you would see a grocery hot bar. The highlight of the meal was Black Eye burger. That was delicious to a point I was actually impressed. In the end, I only give it two stars because the lack of service and our food was hit and miss. read more

Fallston Barrel House - Not that I didn't have 2 pale ales prior. But out server said sometimes it comes out cloudy. Hmmm. Magical Pale Ale? - Wine Bars Near Me - Fallston, Maryland

This is a great restaurant. Love the food which is a bit on the spicy side but really delicious.

I've been here 3 time in 3 weeks and it's been spot on all 3 times. Each time I've eaten at the bar and have had the pleasure of Chris taking care of me. He has a great personality, is very friendly, and is ver knowledgeable. I've tried many items off their menu and everything so far has been good. My favorites so far are the Gumbo which has rice, shrimp, sausage, and lump crab meat. My other is the fried chicken sandwich which is served on ciabatta and topped Gouda and fried capers. read more

Great food, service, and ambience. Loved the gumbo, and Brussels sprouts! Will be back for beautiful outdoor deck when warm.

Awesome food, great atmosphere. A much needed change from the chain restaurants in the area

My husband and I ordered take out about a week ago and being 7 months pregnant I was craving the steak sliders that are usually only on special. My husband asked if there was any way they could cook them up for me even though they weren't on special that specific night. The staff members we dealt with were more than accommodating and made my night! Our food is always delicious and we look forward to taking all of our out of town guests there for a solid meal! read more

Not too impressed..The food was great, however the service was not..They weren't very attentive or eager to seat our group...And they didn't have a good amount of the beer that they had advertised on the big signs out front of the restaurant..Also pricey.. read more

It seems like this place is the hot spot right now in Harford County, we've been twice and the line is out the door. The food is delicious and they have a selection of craft beers on tap that will keep your pallet occupied and very happy for quite awhile. Our favorite appetizers are the ceviche and chorizo mussels, both are large enough to share and absolutely delicious. Hopefully this place will rise above the "Cursed Corner" status and remain successful. read more

I am only giving 2 stars due to the fact that there were several issues. I read other reviews about the place being loud, but at 7 p. m. I took a shot and it is very hard to have a dinner conversation. I agree with others that the dinning room is too tight. I didn't find the food to be more than average. With that being said when I added a order of wings and the second one was raw on the inside that pretty much did it. They removed the wings from the check , but no one from management even came over to say anything. Needless to say that was our first time and last. I guess I should have read more of the reviews before I made my dinner choice!! read more

My husband and I have been wanting to try this place. So we went over for an early bite to eat after a movie. It wasn't busy, so we sat right down in the dining room. First thing I noticed was an odor, it was VERY noticeable. First thing that hit me...cat urine? My husband didn't think so, he said musty...so who knows. Regardless, very strong odor. We ordered wings as an appetizer, they were good after picking all the chicken hair of them...needless to say, we didn't eat many. I had a chicken sandwich, it was ok, not bad, my husband had a cheesesteak, he said it was awful as well as his onion rings. It wasn't horrible, but it was not good. We wont be back, sadly, unless it's for a quick beer at the bar, but doubtful. Oh, there was live music too, which for some great, but while just trying to have dinner and have a conversation, it was way too loud. That's why there is bar side and a dining side...but you couldn't tell where you were sitting. We were shouting at each other. Our servers though, were very attentive. read more

Nice place but the bar help are far from warm and friendly. Went there to hear a band and they totally ignored my wife and I. Nothing..."I'll be with ya in a minute"- not a word. When they finally came over after a good 5 minutes and the place was very uncrowded, it was like they were doing us a favor?! I tended bar for years and greeted all my customers with a friendly look and smile. Tips and business were good. I'm one of several people I know who wouldn't go back to Barrel House for the above reasons. Poor management to tolerate this and scare away business. read more

The only thing good about this place was my server she was more than accommodating. Also the hostess. The place was an absolute wreck not taken care of at all it was dirty and falling apart . And if you want to sit outside like most people do this time of year be prepared for waves of sewage smell ughhh terrible just terrible.. food was mediocre, I had the Rock fish bites and they definitely were frozen and small totally disappointing especially for 12.95 what a let down for my first and definitely my last visit. read more
