Awesome taproom and just what I needed. I was driving from Southern Oregon to the Bay and needed a place to post up for a few hours and get some work done. Wifi was fast and they have two TVs but it wasn't too loud like a sports bar. I appreciated that they didn't have the TV volume on so people could enjoy conversation. This is one of the trinity of breweries in Redding, this one with excellent beer and no kitchen at all. There is plenty of parking-parking nearby will never ever be a problem. Ever. There is some super awesome bar counter seating with comfortable room for a dozen plus. In addition to that there is an elegant dining room with booths tables and chairs and if that's not enough the outside patio/beer garden is simply perfect. Overall the decor aims for-and nails perfectly-a nice wooden euro feel. All of this is all well and good, but the beer is the real focus. I'm pleased to report that the beer here is dang near perfect. They've a dozen or so styles ranging from your standard overpowered cali IPA's to some mellow hefe, complex malty scotch style and a couple of imperials thrown in for good measure. Also the occasional bitter, bock, double, rye,pale and whatever else the brewer feels like. There are no real weaknesses on the beer menu-it's very consistent. Everything has it's own quality and is markedly better then you'll find anywhere else in the area. On my visit it was also pretty mellow-this is a great spot to meet up with friends for conversation over a pint or three. Some other places get busy, noisy and hectic which is fine for when you want that sort of spectacle, but sometimes it's nice to not have to shout to be heard. The service is pretty solid. The beertender on my visit was professional, attentive, very knowledgeable and quite capable of making good recommendations based on the brands/styles you normally drink. The don't serve food (well you get a small bowl of discount chex mix), but you can bring in whatever you want. The Hawaiian bbq place next door gets a lot of action as does the habit grill across the parking lot. If you are trying to be slick and have pizza delivered be prepared to have everyone in the pub suddenly become your friend when it arrives. All in all in my opinion this is the best spot for a pint or two in Redding hands down. read more

Very good beers from this Redding brewery. Chill strip mall location of the tap house with outdoor seating available. Obviously popular with local regulars and I can see why. They also can several of the beers in 4 and 6 packs which is great versus growler only breweries - I don't regularly want 64 ounce servings! I stopped in here while staying overnight in Redding en route to Oregon. I was excited to find that this place was walking distance from my hotel. I was surprised by the location (in a suburban-looking shopping center), but it had a nice laid back ambiance. I enjoyed all the Mt. Shasta photos throughout the building. When I went it was not very crowded, which is great because it gave the bartender (the owner, I think) plenty of opportunity to talk to the few patrons there about where the business has come from and where it's going. I started with the Hex, which was a very good IPA. I then moved onto the Widowmaker, which floored me with how good it was. For a double IPA, it was unbelievably smooth and drinkable. It was hands down the better of the two beers. If you're in Redding and you need a good craft beer to console you, stop in. read more

My second time here, and I'm liking more and more. This time I started with a tasting flight, VERY GOOD! Had the coffee stout, widow maker, Pacific trail pale ale, kelty pleasure and something else I can't remember. This was a really fun as I love trying new beers. Finished up with another widow maker- nice and punchy The bar tender was great, very cool and prompt with everything we needed. Overall, really good. I've stopped in a couple of times passing through town and now I don't want to go through Redding without doing so. The beer is excellent and varied; their East Coast-style IPAs are some of the best I've found in California. Brent was working the bar both times I was there; he's a super nice guy. The space is in a strip mall. It's clean and bright inside, and there's a nice-looking patio that I've not sat on. Wonderful! I My husband, my son, and I had a great time. They even allowed my very well behaved 9 pound dog inside. They have a very nice outdoor patio, that includes a swing. Fall River Brewing is on point! Great beers and good company! The bartender was super friendly and very knowledgeable about the kinds of beer and gave great recommendations of what we should try based on what we like. He also put the football game on for us and let us watch it with the sound, haha. Granted, it was 11am and we were the only patrons in there. The place was dog friendly and had a lot people coming in and out filling up growlers or getting cans made to take down to the river! I thought the can making machine was pretty cool. This was a favorite place of mine when I lived here and it was just as good as I remembered when I came back to visit. They make excellent beer. Craft beer. The staff is great. You can bring dogs. They even have treats for the pooches. There is indoor and out door seating. The only thing, and it is not a complaint, just a heads up: they do not serve food. You have been warned! The great thing is you can bring you own food. There is a Habit Burger, a Hawaiian BBQ and some other things in that parking lot you can walk to. Beer, the most important stuff. IPAs are phenomenal. That is what I have been told. I just believe them. You should too. Because my friends up there have excellent taste and are honest people. Porters: great! Best porters I have had had in Cali. And I currently live in San Diego. Stouts: Irish coffee stout. This is the best thing to hit my lips. In love. Delicious. I dream about this stout. Red Ale: Tilted Kilt. I love me a good red. This is darker than usual. But fantastic. I try to try other things but I really struggle going beyond the Irish Stout and Tilted Kilt. I am a light weight. My fiancé and I wanted a day trip out of town on the 15th and I suggested Fall River; neither of us had been before and I was interested in checking it out. We showed up to this location without realizing beforehand which one we selected on the GPS; oops! (But we were not the only ones to do so that day.) We were hesitant at first and hungry, but I read on reviews you could bring in food so we went to the Hawaiian place next door and ordered. When they heard where we were going they offered to walk it over to us. This location very instantly struck me as a local hang out spot. I love stouts and was torn between Lost in the Forest (pastry stout) and their Irish Coffee (nitro cream stout). One of the two bartenders offered to let me try one, and then suggested I try the two mixed. I'm still not sure how common this is but I've never heard of mixing beers. He called it "The Lost Irishman" and it was extremely good. After a little while I introduced myself and asked him if he could educate us about Fall River Brewing. Brent obliged and was very friendly while we were there, checking in on us regularly. He greeted most customers coming in by name and remembered many of their drinks of choice before being reminded. I noticed a couple of other beers were also frequently mixed together too. We left fans of the beer and location. Wish we lived closer to visit more often but we plan on returning nonetheless! read more

Great little taphouse with some really good beer. Unfortunately didn't have a few on tap that they had on their website, which was actually what drew us in here. Hubby really enjoyed the Lazy Hazy IPA and I very much enjoyed their Irish Coffee Cream Stout. Would have loved to try their sour but they didn't have it. Very bummed. Top heavy with the IPAs. A remarkable local brewery! (well, tap house for now, but I know there gonna go big!) I have got to say, that the Hexagenia IPA is hands down my favorite Fall River Brewery beer, but the thing is that each beer is great, because each beer has its signature taste. The true test is that the consistency is there in each batch brewed. Unlike, other local breweries that have started strong and now waver to keep me coming back, Fall River Brewery has the goods and the products that I will gladly recommend. Like beer? If you answered yes to any or some of the question above...really gotta check this place out. They make beer for pretty much any taste, especially IPA fans. This place is a go-to for us for at least once a week...sometimes more. Don't Judge. What other bar can you go to where they encourage you to get pizza delivered, or go buy burgers and bring them in. NOT MANY. Where else can you sit outside, enjoy a cold one AND make fun of the Starbuck's orders hipsters make all at the same time. NOT MANY. Beer prices are reasonable...and there's usually a game or two on as well, if you're into that kind of thing. Not into sports, well you can relax on the porch in a swing, and even bring your dog if you like...doesn't need a fancy vest either. They have a lot of seasonal beers as well during those times of year that necessitate a seasonal beer. If you're one of those growler types...that likes beer in a big jug you can drink on your stoop and then use as a musical instrument in your local bluegrass club, then you can get that bad boy filled here...and at a discount on Tuesdays. I can't recommend this place enough. If you're looking for wine, like another reviewer listed..and get mad because there isn't any here. Stopped by today to try a flight. My flight was bookended by the Hefeweizen on the lighter end and Pitville Porter on the stouter end, both were standouts for me. My favorite though was the Widowmaker double IPA closely followed by the Hexagenia IPA. Oh and I can't forget the Pacific Crest Pale Ale, also tied for second. I guess the bottom line is there wasn't a beer in the flight that I didn't enjoy. On my drive home all I could think about was sitting on the Fall River at about sunset with a growler of Hexagenia IPA waiting for the Hexagenia Limbata to Hatch, surely the best place to enjoy this brew for the month or so when it's namesake makes an appearance. It will happen. Regardless of how the fishing is it will be a lovely night with the Hex! read more
