I used FR Roofing service and unfortunately the repair didn't take care of the leak. They have come by twice to do further repairs and see if they can see what is going on. So far their response has been very good. Someone came out today, April 2nd, 2026 to do some further sealing and take a look in the attic. I will give an update once I have more information. Our roof, after 35 strong years finally gave out on us and we decided to do a full underlayment replacement with a tile reset. Daniel and Joseph were both very professional and responsive. They responded to our messages even thought we reached out past normal operating hours. The entire team is very experienced and efficient. Total roof only took about a week to fully complete. Daniel Sr went around the property throughout the day with a magnet to ensure that our pups would not be at risk of stepping on any nails, and the entire team was respectful of our property and kept things tidy throughout the job. Their bid was not the cheapest nor the most expensive bid we received, but ultimately it was fair and we do not regret our choice. If you have an older roof, I would budget an added 20%-30% on top of the initial bid price to leave room for any deck repairs and additional tile replacements that maybe needed. I am really disappointed with the initial consultation which never happened. To blame us for not picking up our phone when we were home the entire time waiting, looking out the window, listening for a doorbell to ring, our dog to bark at the door, and to stay home with a huge window of arrival (11 am-4 pm) on a Veteran's Day when my husband (a veteran) could've had other plans for today... we are so disappointed with the lack of service. He offered to come back maybe after an hour or so and says it'll still be within the arrival window before 4 pm. No, that timeframe is not the same anymore. It's a new arrival window. Once you say you're arriving at a certain time, that timeframe is done. We make plans to do other things once we know you're arriving. So instead, it's better to just stop at we can come back later today before 4 pm and not add salt to the wound and say it's still within the window. I would completely understand if we didn't answer the door. I would probably be less disappointed if he even just said he will be back. Needless to say, we went with someone else. But maybe their roofing is good. Hopefully, others will find their service is better. read more

Unprofessional is all I can say. I regret hiring them for my roofing project. See reasons listed: ON UNPROFESSIONALISM: 02/20 my original appointment start date, i was wondering where they were so I called them at 9am to inquire what time they will arrive at my house. They responded by letting me know that they won't be able to start my project due to the oncoming storms. While that was understandable, the issue with that is that "i" had to call them myself the 9am of the start date, instead of them calling me the night or day before. How unprofessional was it to not reach out to the customer ahead of time! I had spoken to my managers about my work schedule just for this project. Also while figuring out when we can do it so I can refigure out my work schedule, Leslie tells me "let me figure this out.. i'll call you in 45 minutes." She never called!! I had to call again 4 hours later!! 03/05: Daniel texts me to confirm that my project will begin the next day and their arrival time would be between 7-8am. The following day comes and we are again wondering where they are. We called their office and they didn't arrive until past 8:30!! So unprofessional and again, WE had to call to ask where they are. Professionalism would be to call us to inform us if anything happened that made them run late. 03/07: day 2. Again, we were wondering where these guys are. 9am, I call their office. Leslie explains to me that they are probably waiting for the clearance from the city inspector. Again, while that was understandable, I wish that part of the process was explained to us or that they would have communicated that their arrival time would be based on the city clearance. Again, when Leslie says "I'll call you back in x amount of time," she NEVER does. They did not arrive til closer to 11:30am. 03/10: the project has been completed and Daniel was supposed to pick up the check. I had given them my husband's phone number because I will be either sleeping for night shift or will be at work. First, this process of waiting for Daniel to pick up the check dragged all the way til Monday 3/13 because Daniel kept flaking on us when it came to picking up the check. We emailed them and they apologized saying that Daniel had a minor emergency. But again, the unprofessionalism of not giving the client (that you know is waiting for you) a courtesy call. We had to again initiate communication or they'd have no plans of telling us ourselves that Daniel won't be coming. Then, finally 3 days later, he calls ME while i was at work despite me being clear to them to contact MY HUSBAND who has been waiting on Daniel all weekend. ON PRICING: Just a tip, if you were to hire this company, while arranging financing, please include about $3-4,000 on top of their quote or go with other reputable companies here on Yelp that are more clear with what is included in their estimate. That is what I should have done. While FR Roofing had great reviews and the best price initially, my project ended up being $3,286 more than what was quoted. While it WAS explained to me that plywood and broken tiles might have to be replaced, Daniel said that it would only cost a few hundred "depending" on what happens. Those are thing's we'll truly never know but I wish I had went with the companies who might have quoted higher but included the broken tiles and plywood already. Another thing that was NOT explained was that the city permit was not included in the estimate. I wish that was also explained or that I had went with the other companies that may have quoted higher but included the city permit already. $3,286 ABOVE the original estimate was a lot. And there was no communication during the week whatsoever so I could prepare $3,286 more than the money I had for the project. All of this was a surprise at the end. ON CUSTOMER CARE/WORKMANSHIP: The workers had chipped small areas of my house paint and I wanted FR Roofing to just help me fix it. With all the rains, all this chipped paint is risking my wood for termites and dry rot. Once again, Leslie never calls back whenever she says she would and you'd have to initiate all follow up conversation. While this is a small project it could lead to costly repairs if not fixed soon. Joseph came by 3 days ago and was very dismissive of my issue and already hinted that they don't want to help me fix the areas where their workers chipped paint and exposed wood. If FR Roofing won't assist now with something minor, what makes me confident that they are going to take care of their customers and honor your warranty when something major comes up down the road? These people were only kind when they wanted me to hire them for my roof and when they wanted me to hire them to install solar in my home. But when I reach out to them to fix minor issues that their workers caused, they become dismissive and not want to do anything. I am thankful I took the time to think about whether to go with them for my solar system. read more

Pros: High transparency regarding the procedure, job tasks, inspection procedure, and payment progress. The roofing team worked exceptionally fast. Many of their supplies are directly from manufacturers, so you get fresh material. The company provides some before and after photos as well as the major areas that required wood replacement. Cons: Initial communication took a long time and pricing was a little high. *Please note that I approached the company during an exceptionally busy time after heavy rains, so all the roofing companies' quotes will be relatively high. Their availability was initially relatively open, but I got pushed back a two times during non-weather related challenges which made me wonder if they initially provided early availability to earn the business. At the time, I thought that either the company was spread thin with too many jobs or city inspection availability wasn't favorable. For weather related delays, I found it to be very reasonable/understanding. I also unfortunately had to wait 3 weeks to get a reply regarding their insurance to make sure that I was covered in case of a potential work accident. I also had to use a magnetic sweeper and broom to clean up some leftover nails and sheet metal cuttings after the job to make sure that I didn't have any potential metal leftover. If I wasn't overcautious about sweeping, then I may have accidentally stepped on the leftover sharp objects. Consumer Suggestion: A roof job is almost bound to require replacing wood and tiles on top of the initial quotation. I suggest reviewing the market price of wood and your particular roof's tiles evaluate if you're getting a competitive price on the installation labor. Also, hang on to all of your documentation and correspondence with physical copies. read more
