Chicken Shawarma Plate mild. Delicious
Edwin R.

They been open for over 20 years I believe and it's always on point!! I had mild chicken shawarma plate and it was delicious. Love the rice and the hummus. I'll be back again soon.

Chicken shawarma wrap

My chicken shawarma wrap was too salty and had less chicken in it. I tried calling the owner back but he wouldn't even pick up my call.

Chicken Shawarma wrap

Food dint taste good. I ordered a spicy chicken shawarma wrap. It was soggy. The owner was abit funny when I told him I want my space level to be mild but I still ordered food from there. Will not be going there again.

Lunchtime
Kathleen L.

This restaurant has great food but it is basically for takeout. There is only one small table that seats 2 people and a 8' counter by the windows with four stools. There are some chairs for people to sit and wait for their order. I have come two times during the lunch hour and they turned me away because they had a large catering order. So if you want to give this restaurant a try I would recommend calling ahead of time and for takeout. We will definitely be dining here again in the future. I would love to see them move to a bigger location.

Weird black tarp

I had heard from a friend who said that there is this Middle Eastern eatery in Hoffman Estates that is making some noise in social media about their hamburgers being so good. The restaurant is located in a small strip mall. The other restaurants are all Middle Eastern eateries in the strip mall. I walked into Falafel Hut, and it first was taken back. I thought I was in the wrong location. This place inside aesthetically looks horrendous. There is a large black tarp that separates the kitchen from the front area where you order. There's a small bell near the cash register that says ring for service. I thought the place was possibly under construction. I also thought I possibly entered from the wrong side and felt like I was in the back room. It's strange look at it hands-down. I ring the bell and this extremely friendly young lady asked how can she help me. I said I would like to try one of the hamburgers. The main menu that is on the wall has no mention of hamburgers. She then pulls out a small plastic sign that shows what you can order on a hamburger. From what my friend told me the way to go is get order a double cheeseburger with spicy gyro meat. You can then add chipotle sauce and take it from there. I ordered the way my friend suggested. The young lady asked me if I would like to make it a combo, which came with a drink and an extremely small fry. I said sure the total came to around $20. The young lady then said hold on let me see how long this is going to take. She disappeared behind the black curtain. I can hear her speaking with somebody and a voice came from the black curtain that said about 15 to 20 minutes. I sat and watched as a couple more people came in asking again for the hamburger. This was obviously turning into a popular item that they were not prepared for whatsoever. They told the people again that it would be 15 to 20 minutes. I could not see inside the kitchen, but from the voices I heard through the black curtain it seemed that there was maybe three workers total, the girl at the front who took the order, another woman who seemed to be the owner and a grill cook. I then hear my name Frank. A woman pops out from the curtain who I assume is the owner she told me she ran out of ground meat and that she needed to grind some more up. This will take another 15 to 20 minutes for her to grind the meat up. I told her it was fine, no problem. I sat and listened as phone calls started to come in, placing phone orders to get food and hamburgers. This sounded like they 100% could not handle how busy it was getting with their small staff. My 20 minute wait on top of my 20 minute wait turn into another 15 minute wait by the end of it. I finally heard my name called. It was almost an hour if not more, my hamburger was finally ready. I told the girl at the front counter before I ordered that I was going to review this location. I told her that when I do a review of a location, it gets exponentially busy people from everywhere. Come to try out what I suggest and it quadruples the business for a location, I asked her is that going to be a problem will you be able to handle it? The girl smiled and said we should be fine. I opened up my hamburger in my car to take a look at it. It was gorgeous. I took a bite, and it was absolutely delicious. The flavors were out of this world. The Gyro meat mixed with their ground meat was a perfect savory mix. The Gyro meat was tender. The creamy chipotle sauce did not overpower. It was a perfect companion to the salty meat. I will tell you this was an out of this world hamburger, but I also will tell you I don't think this was my order that I put in. The hamburger was not spicy whatsoever. I remember asking for the spicy Gyro meat. I also understood that it came with jalapeños and onions. I don't think I got that, I also ordered a double cheeseburger and I only received a single the phrase that came with it or child size I can't even call them small. I will tell you, because this is honestly one of the most unique and tasty hamburgers you'll ever try. Now there will be definitely some obstacles and give yourself some. time if you were curious to try this place out. They are very very slow. They are slow because they're lazy. They're slow because they are overwhelmed with this new found business. I also need to definitely say they need to do something with the aesthetic look of this place. It looks like a haunted house absolutely horrible if I was not suggested to try this place out one look at it from as soon as you enter the restaurant I would've walked right back out. I really do hope you all check this place out. I know a lot of my readers are pretty traditional and don't like to step out of their comfort zones but I have never steered any of you wrong. My reviews are always honest. I know what is good and what is bad in regards to what tastes good in the food. So I asked that you trust me and really check this place out you will like it.

Lunch special
Nicole L.

Yesterday my husband and I tried the lunch special with chicken shawarma, gyro meat, rice, and a pita. At first we were a little turned off with some of the spice in the rice (I believe it might be cinnamon), but the more we ate, the more we liked everything.

The Chicken Tawwa
Nate L.

My wife and I have been eating at a restaurant across Golf road and we had been seeing and wanting to try this establishment for years. We FINALLY stopped in and I'm regretting we haven't eaten here earlier! Falafel house features a middle eastern fusion quisine and the selections on their menu has a fimilar theme. I had their Chicken Tawwa with rice and my wife had the Hummus with meat (Chicken Schwarma). Both dishes were ample and delicious! We wouldn't hesitate to return and will be trying everything on their menu.

Beef Tawwa Rice
Lynn M.

Great food and service. I always order the tawa beef or the tawa chicken rice spicy. It comes with garlic sauce and is extremely flavorful! Definitely recommend and will continue to come back!

Chicken kabob
Amana C.

Limited seating, small and tight and not much of an ambiance. Better to do takeout from here. Food comes out quickly and in styrofoam boxes. Food was decent, good hummus and shawarmas.

Their menu is loaded with all the popular items (kabobs, shawarmas, etc), so chose their chicken shawarma bowl. The lady helping ring me up explained how it was made and that sounded great, which was the garlic sauce (sort of like toom) was on the bottom with the rice on top, salad next and then the protein on top. So, this is what I ordered. It was made fresh and came out piping hot. The rice in the dish was bland and the chicken was slightly more flavorful, which means it was basically bland as well. The garlic sauce and the salad were the best two flavors on this dish and I tried to grab some of that in each bite. I wasn't too impressed with the flavors of the chicken shawarma at all, but then again I prefer flavorful and authentic food and can't stand when ethnic restaurants cater to "Americans" by making their food less spicy/authentic. The place was rather busy when I went and the dining room was kept clean. Service was friendly. I'd recommend this place to those who don't have high expectations for spice, rather are looking for a nice experience.

We ordered roti through the Uber eats app for delivery. I went to ask my mom if she wanted something but when I returned my husband had already submitted the order to Uber eats. This Place Is Uniquely Pakistani..Proudly Serving Their Community…read more. Years ago, Beau & I came here, during their Iftar Buffet, & since then, this place has delighted, each time we've dined here.. We then dined a second time, during another Iftar Buffet, also stopping by on another occasion, just after lunchtime. Whilst on two other occasions, we came here for dinner, ordering a la carte. And, each meal we've had here, mostly meets the mark !! What We Observed, Is As Follows: The Ambiance: Is clean, simple, & cafeteria like, offering plenty of seating for gatherings.. They do add Decorative Flourishes here & there, to add Charm & Festivity to the air. But during dinner time : the eatery is near empty. However, during Iftar: The Eatery Is Positively Packed, Alive With Communal Energy!! The Food: Is Rich, Meaty & Aromatically Spicy, as one would expect with Pakistani cuisine.. Would Recommend: Their Finger Fish: fried in a spicy breading, & perfect when dipped in their green chili sauce.. Their Karahi Ghosht: meaty & robust in flavor, served in a rich red gravy.. Their Aloo Kheema: which has a rustic homemade quality .. Their Chicken Fajita Omelette: (which I learned to my dismay, is not offered during dinnertime) Their Garlic Fries Their Zeera Rice (though I wish it were more spiced) Their Paratha Their Mango Shake And, all of the flavorful items, offered on their Iftar Buffet.. Lastly, we recommend: Their Chai, which has subtle hints of cardamom, & is Always the Sweet Ending to our meals here. Would Not Recommend: Their Butter Chicken: (to my dismay, I found the white meat too dry, & that the gravy tasted tangy, as opposed to rich & buttery..) The Service: For The Most Part, Is Satisfactory: But upon asking: I was told the last time we dined here: that they don't offer Khamiri (fermented) Paratha. (And yet I read a review here on Yelp, which said they do indeed make this ?!) Hope next time, the cook caters to my request.. They could also improve by: caring enough to replace the styrofoam cups for water, & the paper cups for tea, with Real Glassware & Chinaware..
