    The Falafel Bar counter
    Greg G.

The Falafel Bar is located inside the Expo Market on Main Street between Tupper and Chippewa in downtown Buffalo. It's my first encounter at this walk up counter restaurant. Things got off to a slow start. The staff were busy in the kitchen so they didn't see me at first however, the employees from the taco place next door let them know I was there. It wasn't a problem at all and they were apologetic for the wait. The food as it turned out was very good. The menu on the chalkboard behind the counter was large and contains a multitude of wraps, salads sandwiches and burgers. Wraps/Sandwiches $9 Falafel Wrap Hummus Wrap Falafel Hummus Wrap Shawarma Wrap Gyro Wrap Three Sisters Wrap (Hummus, Gyro, Tomato, Fried Eggplant, Tahini) Israeli Wrap Lebanese Wrap Vegan Portobello Shawarma Pita Greek Lamb Burger Chicken Finger Wrap Salads $8 Add Falafel, Gyro, Chicken or Shawarma = $3 Falafel Combo (Falafel, Hummus, Greek Salad) $12 Greek Salad Fatoush (Romaine, Tomato, Cucumber, Crispy Pita Chips, & Zaatar) Starters/Sides Tzatziki, Hummus, Tabouli w/Pita $8 Falafel $7 Fries $3 Greek Fries $5 Soup (Lentil or Soup of the Day) $5 I had the Three Sisters Wrap it was delicious. The fried eggplant was a good compliment to the flavorful gyro meat and hummus. The tahini rounded out the sandwich nicely. Next I had the lentil soup which was full of lentil but lacks a stronger broth feeling. It seems watery but filling nonetheless. I added a side of souvlaki chicken meat and that was a grilled marinated moist enjoyable end to a very good meal. All in all a good experience! The Expo has five restaurants in all and I intend to return frequently. La divina taco heaven is right next door to the falafel bar and i have always enjoyed their fare.

The place was nestled in a indoor restaurant strip, the front counter woman was really nice, helpful and attentive. This is my first time in buffalo so it was nice to be greeted immediately. If you're in the area Falafel Bar is a good place to grab a bite from, I got the gyro wrap and regular fries for $13.05. Decent, refreshing, and worth it

The man I talked to who prepared my food is from Jerusalem, it was very cool hearing his story and seeing the passion he has for cooking food from his beloved Homeland. (I thought I detected salt, pepper and allspice among others; it was truly delicious!) Throughout the restaurant were blinking "Ramadan Kareem" signs in multicolors: It was very cheerful. Most of the food is done take-out, either by customers arriving for pickup, or delivery by service. If you care to sit, the restaurant is galley-shaped: Food prep area on the left, comfortable chairs and bench seats on the right. The menu is huge and varied. I had the lamb shawarma, and because it was after 2pm, I could no longer order it a la carte. However, this was a blessing as the combo gave me a chance to try more of their food, and everything was delicious. The prices were very reasonable. There are posted signs at the register that a surcharge of 3.5% is added unless you're paying cash. I'm looking forward to returning with my family for their lentil soup, fattoush salad, babaganoush, and hummus. Chilled beverages and tea for purchase; no alcohol allowed on the premises. Very family friendly.

Lots of little places offering what Starbucks offers (premade offerings). The GPS came up with Mythos. It wasn't far from where we were. We parked on the street behind the restaurant before noticing the blue sign indicating they had a lot behind the building. No matter. Just be aware. You walk in and immediately smell breakfast cooking. We were seated at a booth and ordered a couple cups of coffee. The menu is pretty extensive. She got eggs benedict with toast and hashbrowns. I ordered the steak and eggs breakfast special. It's Thursday morning so not a people in the restaurant. The food is out pretty quick. Coffee gets refilled without having to ask. Eggs are done right, steak is cooked medium, potatoes are a little crispy. Her eggs benedict came out just right, potatoes the same as mine. Plenty of food to fuel up in the morning. We ate and talked for a while. Waitress checked in regular to see if we needed anything. Food is gone, coffee is getting finished. Definitely a breakfast (and lunch) place to check out. Fast service , reasonable prices, quality food. No complaints.
