It was my first visit to Fajita Jacks the other night and let me say, it was a great experience - definitely will be back! Tried the "Famous Fajitas" (beef) upon recommendation and they were awesome. Beef was very tender and they came with a lot of add-ons to suit any taste. Finished my meal with their free ice-cream as well! I also was a fan of the decor, the neon lighting inside was unique and quite interesting. There is also a fire-pit outside on their patio, which is a nice touch too. Wonderful local spot on the water with great Tex mex and happy hour specials. Their fajitas are of course amazing and it's a great venue for families and everyone else. Take your kids to the dock past the restaurant where they have a special feeding area for these massive, wild lake carp! Our food (shrimp and steak fajitas) and drinks last night were tasty and the service was quick, even though it was a crowded Friday evening. Our server Drew was especially attentive and professional to me and my family and we will definitely be returning again and again! We got off our boat, walked in and were seated within a few minutes. Not sure what was going on with the waitress it a nice guy came over got our drinks then brought us chips and then finally took our order, every time telling us our waitress will be right with us. She finally came and gave us all refills. A different guy and girl brought our meals. They looked a little annoyed, but we're friendly when they asked us if everything was correct. Still no waitress. I had the beef fajitas. They were very good. I love their homemade tortillas!!! My kids got the seafood platter and chicken fajitas, they both said it was good. Our waitress came by and we asked for the check and to go boxes. We got the boxes but no check. So we grabbed another lady and asked for our check. Over all I guess it was alright. Nothing great. We did not have a good experience at this restaurant. Service was horrible. We were seated outside with one other table. I think the waitress also had a few tables inside the restaurant as we barely saw her. Management should never allow this as the people outside are often ignored. Food was also a disappointment. The green salsa was very good, but the red salsa tasted like tomato sauce. It was inedible. Fajitas were adequate,but nothing special. My husband's meal was also nothing special. The location is wonderful and I wanted to enjoy the meal, but the service and food were subpar. read more

So after reading a few crappy reviews we went in a little skeptical. We had a group of 14 for a birthday. We Found the service to be just right and the atmosphere lively but not too loud and or over bearing . Our drinks never went empty and were a little on the strong side(my favorite kind if drink) The food was a little average nothing special but wasn't bad at all. The bald manager that has been mentioned in another review ,who I especially was watching out for, was very attentive . (Maybe because of the afore mentioned review) he helped buss the table and checked on us several times to make sure all was well. If we eat out we at Jacks. It's our favorite place to eat, not just in Montgomery, but anywhere. I have never had one bad meal. They're all excellent. This place is the bees knees. Our server excitingly was named jack and greeted us as if serving Mexican food was his reason to live. The drinks and food arrived so quickly as if jack was the flash him self. This restaurant is a perfect area. By the Bay on Lake Conroe. There weren't busy , slow night.We sat outside .Order Tacos al Pastor, Carne Asada and Marco Pollo( that is chicken and other things). Our family has always loved this place, since before they moved into the newer location. Now, with outdoor seating in view of the lake, its even better. We attended the 4th of July fireworks this year and could not have asked for a better view or better service. Thoroughly enjoyable experience. read more

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE. we had a group of 7. Only two people in our group could finish their meal. The others couldn't because the food tasted so bad. First time here. Maybe we should've gotten fajitas because it looked like that's what everyone was having. We got queso with ground beef and tortilla soup. Queso is made with cheddar cheese. Yuck. My husband and I recently moved to the Conroe area and went Fajita Jack's for dinner which was great! The food is delicious, the drinks are awesome and the staff is always freindly. We also really enjoy the atmosphere. It is very relaxing so there is no need to dress up and it is right on the lake so it's great (when it's not too hot) to sit on the patio and watch the boats come in and out and is even better at night. It is our restaurant of choice and we highly recommend it. read more

Our first time here and it was so good. Server was very attentive and the food was almost perfect. I wanted shrimp and the shrimp was not that great. Ever since they moved locations this place is terrible! LONG wait, and they have no room for an indoor wait, so in the summer you are waiting outside sweating. People are running around in nothing but swim suits, which is too casual for me at a sit down place. Last time we visited they brought us tacos with rotten meat. I mean it smelled like road kill, then they only wanted to discount it 10% even though we didn't take a single bite. Avoid this place! The lake view isn't worth it. read more

Food most likely purchased from a Restaurant supply pre-made for high turn over untrained fast order cooks, nothing fresh and not good. Being from San Antonio it's difficult to find good Mexican food in the Houston area. Don't waste your time here as there are better choices in the area. read more

I worked in the same plaza and went here all the time for lunch breaks and would sit out on the back patio. Great during the summer time it's covered, you get a great view of the lake and the food is great. A lot of the servers there are prompt and have real personalities. I love it. One of the worst Mexican restaurants ive ever been to. Lousy service and food. I thought itd be better since its by a lake but no. Very disappointed. Will never go back to this place again. I got the cali burrito and was not impressed at all by it. The steak meat was tough and chewy and there wasn't much toppings inside. I thought i was gonna get a large burrito but it was regular size. I got a pina colada too and it was one of the worst ones ive ever had. Not much flavoring at all. Would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. read more

We went for lunch on a beautiful Tuesday in October. We wanted to sit outside to enjoy Lake Conroe. Outside was dirty tables scattered everywhere, electrical wires scattered around, the wait staff running like they were swamped. There were 4 tables of customers out there. Service was slow. I ordered $10.99 cerviche and it was about 1/2 cup of food. $5.99 would have been all the money for the portion size. Very disappointed. My friends lunch portion was right sized, and she enjoyed it. The inside of the restaurant looked very nice, organized, clean. Don't know why the part that is the main draw of waterfront dining, the outdoor lake front patio, was so blah , dirty and disorganized. Maybe management never goes out there, or just doesn't care. We won't be back. Will try Sam's or Wolfies patio next time. Very disappointed. By the way, I used to wait tables. read more
