I was looking for a mini cacti garden and was given many options from a mixed succulent and cacti garden to a simple potted cacti plant. They have plenty of affordable selections that you can build your own mini indoor garden for around $25 to $30. The pre-made mini pots were even more affordable from $12 to $20. If you don't know what you want, go to the greenhouse and get educated. They will help you out so much. read more

This garden center is huge and offers a large variety of plants. It is pricy, however, given the selection and the presumed health of the plants, it might be worth it. Plus we noticed several employees throughout the center helping customers and answering questions. Most of the plants were labeled with the name, price, and care instructions. The center seems very organized and makes it easy to find a plant suitable for your yard/home. They even have an online map on the website. Fairview has indoor and outdoor areas. If you visit on a sunny day I recommend bringing a sun hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen. In addition to plants, they sell gardening supplies and have a play area for kids. Per the website, they offer delivery and installation, and host events. Overall, seems like a decent garden center and I look forward to returning. read more

If you are a fellow crazy plant person, this place will blow your mind! They have an absolutely enormous greenhouse with a massive selection of all our favorite houseplants, including all the beautiful variegated types. Given that we visited in February, I can only imagine how many more plants they'll have in the warmer months. I recently got into terrariums so I was thrilled to see that they have a section of little plants chosen specifically for terrarium life. Believe it or not, it's very difficult to find plants that are tiny enough to fit into the little glass containers. I purchased 3 little plants for my next one and a couple of larger ferns to keep inside my house. There's also a huge variety of planters and great prices on potting soil, fertilizers, seeds, and pesticides. A huge shoutout to the amazing staff as well!! I had several questions about some of my houseplants that are struggling a bit indoors and they were more than happy to talk to me at length, which was so appreciated and made me even more excited to return in the near future. I'll definitely be back when the weather warms up and I can keep more plants outside. If you are a true planty person, give yourself plenty of time to relax and browse here! read more

We visited Fairview Garden Center to replace a few herbs. The selection was decent but they only had one of the herbs we were searching for. Outside of that this place seems to have all of your gardening needs. I also want to say that it is huge! We didn't get to explore it all since it was too hot with a mask on. Joy was so helpful in my search to get my pots right for the fall! I am not gifted in the area of decorating, so my friend suggested just asking an employee. Joy dropped what she was doing, understood my timetable (a hurry to get home, since this was my third stop, trying to buy mums!), helped me choose a color theme for my pots that I also needed to fill, then explained thrillers, fillers and spillers. (If I remember the terminology!) But... still no mums, since I was looking for a larger size. I checked out, and then Joy came running from the back- after I heard her radio the checkout clerk not to let me leave- she had found the larger (and beautiful!!) mums "in the back"- that glorious place in stores that seems to magically hold the overflow- and ran to the front with mums just for me. This garden center is the cream of the crop! I've been wanting to buy some house plants for a little while but didn't really know where to start. I've tried Home Depot's garden center before but still felt really lost as I don't have much experience with plants. I did a quick search online and so happy I came across Fairview's website. It's a family owned local business - always a huge plus for me and super important to support our local businesses especially during a pandemic. They have a great system (currently) to ensure there were limited number of people inside the center given current restrictions due to COVID. Their scheduling system online was very easy to use. After arriving at the center, I was surprised by how much they had to offer! I love that the center is clearly labeled so you know exactly where to go depending on the type of plants you want. My favorite part was the people working there. Shout out to Randy and Jody for being so helpful and a great source of knowledge. They educated us on how to best care for the plants and provided the best customer service. Another great service they have is potting your plants for an additional fee. As a person who's never done this before, it was really helpful to us they are able to do this! I'm so glad I found this place and we will no doubt continue to go back for additional plants. read more

I loved this place. I went here for the first time today after breaking a deadly sin and accidentally killing my husband's cactus. I looked for plant places in Raleigh and after looking at different websites and calling, this was the best place to go. The customer service from the time I called ahead, to walking in, and getting checked out, was excellent. I essentially interacted with three different people and all were very friendly and welcoming. As soon as I walked in I probably had deer in the headlight looks as I'm not the plant person in the family (why I'm here); And after explaining what happened, a woman took me exactly where I needed to be. I brought home 4 different cacti and a succulent, my husband forgave me and is very happy lol. The place is clean and beautiful with many diverse plants and an assortment of plant tools and decor. They do carry a number of different plants than other places. The health of the plants seem to be better. Wide variety of indoor and outdoor plants. Also a great selection of garden decor, ceramic pots, potting soil. this is a complete stop for everything for the garden. Be sure to load the app and save money every time you check in. The attendants are nice and helpful, some know more than others but there is always a Horticulturist on site to answer the hard questions. I have purchased plants from here for a few years now . The plants have thrived, grew and grew and grew. They are priced higher than your HD and Lowes. But they are higher quality . I don't mind spending more for quality. read more

This is the worst possible greenhouse you could make a purchase at. I decided to give this nursery my business back in May instead of buying at one of the big box stores. I consulted one of their specialist in what kind of of bush would do best in a full sun spot in my backyard. He picked out a lilac bush which I planted. I was told when I made the purchase that the bush was guaranteed for 2 years with a full money back guarantee. When I took a clipping in today they said the bush was still alive. (See picture) The cashier that waited on me was very polite but the "SPECIALIST " from the plant department was determined not to give me my money back for the dead bush. In the end I did get my money back but not without a huge disagreement. I will never and I mean never step foot in that business again! read more

My friend lives down the street from this plant nursery and suggested that I go. I met here here and she showed me around. I enjoyed my visit although I didn't find anything that I wanted to buy. The plants I saw were beautiful! They had both varieties of Monstera Deliciosa, lots of ZZ plants, and several other houseplants. They also carry outdoor plants as well. They have different sizes and types of planters available all with reasonable prices. The staff is friendly and approachable. I visited this past Saturday and was impressed by the wide variety of plants they offered. Gardening is something that I am just getting into so I still feel very lost when looking at plants and trying to figure out what I am doing. I asked one of their team members for some help/advice and she did help me but I almost got the feeling that I was bothering her. Not sure, just made me feel a little weird but I could have also just read the situation wrong. I found their prices to be more expensive than Lowe's and Home Depot, but I expected that since this is a nursery. I will say that there plants looked more healthy then ones I have seen elsewhere. Today was my first visit to Fairview. They had so many more choices that I'm used to seeing. The staff was very friendly and we had multiple associates ask us if we needed help. One even brought us a basket when our hands got full. It is more pricy than Walmart or Home Depot where I normally go, but the variety and helpfulness of the staff makes it worth it. read more

The size of the place is MASSIVE. They have sooooooo many beautiful plants. The staff is VERY knowledgeable and was very willing to help -- which we found out within minutes vs. an hour or more at the Garden Center. I bought my vegetable plants at Fairview, and also my organic fertilizer and soil amendments. I am stunned at how great my tomato plants are. The onions I chose are the best I ever ate; they were some little sweet kinds. My cucumber plants are producing very well; I can't keep up. I'm an avid gardener, but I've never had such success with vegetables before. Normally I buy my annuals, shrubs and some perennials at Fairview. They look amazing and we are soooo happy we purchased from them and only wish the rest also came from here. Fairview is amazing! I built multiple raised beds and they helped me with soil recomendations, plant selection and pest identification. They have a huge greenhouse to find all sorts of plants to choose from. Look, I have been to nurseries in Missouri, Illinois, Tennesee, Georgia, Ohio and Iowa. I have never been to one with the care and selection of plants as this one. Just do yourself a favor. Go to the nursery and judge for yourself. Its expensive, sure. What isn't if you want top quality selection in plants and gardenware. From Chance, the young man who assisted us, to the cashier who checked us out, it was a great experience. I learned something from each of them. They loved working there and it showed. Yep, its a bit of a drive for us to get there, but oh so worth it. Even if you don't spend any money on plants, just go and walk through the place. You won't be sorry. Its beautiful. read more

Terrible customer service. My family and I tried to purchase plants today, but left with several hundred dollars unspent because of the terrible customer service. Only go here if you are an experienced horticulturalist who doesn't like to be bothered while shopping. When we walked in the 4 or 5 staff members who were at the empty registers did not say anything to us. (Of course, that's not a deal-breaker, but for a "family-owned" business, you'd think they'd try to be more hospitable.) while wandering the grounds, one employee asked if we needed help and immediately looked like she regretted it when I said I'd like some help finding a good variety of houseplant. She pointed me in the direction of the greenhouses. (Duh, lady, there only several dozen greenhouses!) We wandered through the greenhouses looking for another employee, so we could get some advice on choosing and caring for the plants. When we couldn't find anyone in the Fairview shirts, I went straight to a cashier (who had no customers) and asked if she could find someone to help me. She radioed the greenhouse person and said to look for the customer at the greenhouse entrance wearing a baby (pretty obvious to spot, I'd say). I went and waited around for 10 minutes before I gave up and left. I was ready to drop good money at this establishment that boasts about its three-generations of growers and I was left feeling like I wasn't enough of a gardener to receive assistance and completely stupid for my lack of knowledge. I guess it was too much to ask for some basic respect. I thought a local-business like this would try a little harder to get customers who have mainly turned to online outlets and delivery from big box stores during this era of COVID. My daughter found the children's play area and was occupied while I shopped for plants. I really enjoyed my experience here and will definitely come again.
