Tbh, the amount of choices you'd have to make is a bit overwhelming. But prices are decent and portions are generous. I got a single scoop of Nutella and on receipt it's labeled "kid size", but it was a very generous scoop, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Location may be out of the way a bit, and the streets are not all lit at night, but it was worth the 15 min walk from where we were staying.

This is what water ice is all about! Super delicious. Great service as well. Highly recommend if you're in the area!

Fairmont donuts with Nutella

Stopped in before a tour at Eastern State Penitentiary and it was the perfect thing to help me cool down. There was a line out on the sidewalk and people were called up to the window to order. This place has a huge menu with what seems like something for everyone. I got a small half mango/half watermelon Italian ice. The small size was $4 and was huge! Way more than I actually wanted but a good value. The favors didn't stand out. My husband tried the new Fairmont donuts with Nutella. They're basically zeppolis with Nutella on top. They were hot, fresh and delicious but also cost like $13 for a pretty small portion. Not sure I could recommend at that price but I suppose they're there if you're looking to try something different!

This ice cream shop located across eastern state penitentiary usually has a line outside anytime apart from Winter. There's no seating, all to-go. The gelato (pictured left) is nice and refreshing - it's actually more like flavored ice with soft serve. That's a small! Recc to order the kids size!

Fairmount Flavors unquestionably has good homemade ice cream. Is it the best I've ever had? No. Is it the most ludicrously overpriced? No. Are the prices reasonable? No. A side of sprinkles (jimmies) is $1.50! If you picked up a cooked chicken from Sprouts, Shoprite, Wegman's, etc and bought just over a pound of broccoli crowns or string beans, along with enough potatoes to cut and bake, you can feed a family of four for the same or less than what Fairmount Flavors charges for a quart of Ice cream or frozen custard or water ice. Places like Van Leeuwen Ice Cream are obnoxiously greedy. With the prices they charge for good- not phenomenal ice cream, they are better suited for a name that explains what's occurring- Baskin-Robbins. Why? They are robbing you. Baskin-Robbin is 1/3 to just over 40% less for a quart of ice cream. There are better tasting and lower priced homemade ice cream shops in the Hamptons of New York. I would love Tanner Brothers Dairy in Ivyland (Bucks County) to take their ice cream and franchise it. That's superb homemade ice cream, and it's affordable. That's likely the reason they've been thriving for over 100 years. They have consistently excellent quality dairy products, produce, and more. For almost 1/2 the price, you can get a gallon of homemade ice cream that puts Fairmount Flavors to shame. Which brings up a good word- "shame" in the owner of Fairmount Flavors to over charge. It's a little fish not far from Fishtown.

Oreo ice cream w/ various toppings

Middling to poor experience with Fairmount Flavors. Let's start with the positive - menu options are solid, lots of variety and uniqueness. The location is convenient. The server was nice, if a bit disinterested (she was wearing AirPods). The negatives -- 1) The prices are exorbitant. Two scoops goes for $6, and if you add a few standard toppings you're paying $10 or more. Wild stuff. 2) They did not clean the spoon prior to scooping my ice cream. Tons of orange looking ice cream / water ice mixed into my flavors. Really hated to see that. 3) My ice cream had a bunch of ice chunks in it, and really everything was just generally kind of icy and not smooth or creamy like the best ice cream spots. Could have just been a bad day, and I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and come back again - will confirm one way or another. Really wanted to like it here but came away disappointed!

First time here and will definitely be back! I always walk past this place and there's usually a long line of people.Service was great and the girls working inside were all extremely friendly. I agree with other reviews that it is a bit overpriced, but the portions are generous and I am helping out a local business so I didn't mind. I ordered a small Oreo yogurt cup w/chocolate crunchies on top. Obviously wasn't as good as ice cream, but it was still very tasty and I would order it again. They had a decent amount of options for toppings so will do that next time. My bf ordered the chocolate chip house sandwich with Oreo ice cream and it was soo good. We both agreed that the ice cream was good, but not great. The cookie was the star of the show and was absolutely delicious. Will be back to try the gelati or sundae next time!

Pineapple, tangy tangerine and homemade hand dipped ice cream = Gelato

Late evening snack attack at Philly Flavors. I haven't been here since the summer before COVID hit. The store is now and a window that you order at, told your # and then you wait for someone to open and hand you your order. Most of the help was nice but this one young lady's attitude was that of impatience and not friendly when she would bring the customers their order. She would buck her eyes and open her mouth dropping her lip out of frustration. I was hoping not to get her. There were lots of people standing around waiting for their order. The wait wasn't terrible but it definitely took about 10-15 mins to get my complete order. I ordered a large gelato pineapple, tangy orange and homemade hand dipped vanilla gelato. It was so good and flavorful no pun intended. It cost$6.50 for the large. My daughter had the brownie mint chocolate chip and Reese's ice cream. She says it was the beat everrrrrrrrrr! My other daughter had the peach and vanilla gelato. Of course I slipped my spoon for a taste or two. I wanted to trade. I LOVED THE PEACH. I began sing Just Bieber's song about Georgia peaches. lol! It was super yummy!!!! This pandemic has removed some of the fun out of coming to Philly Flavors but I'm thankful that the the ice cream was super cream my smoothie and the water ice was packed with lots flavor. I highly recommend this place. Just pray you don't get the young lady with the tude to bring your order.

The flavors taste like what they're supposed too. Just like the fruit they claim. Not overly sweet, just enough to be damn good!!!

The place was busy, but that didn't delay our orders. We could hold a conversation without having to speak loudly. We bought some dark roast beans, ground there for espresso, to take home.

We were a little late due to traffic, but our reservation was still honored. Our seating was inside and upstairs (which we appreciated b|c it rained while we were dining) Ambiance was lovely, dimly lit and romantic if you're on a date. Restaurant is family friendly!! We were quickly sat, our waiter introduced himself to us -- lovely gentleman by the name of Vincenzo?!? He was effortlessly efficient and friendly. Made our night exceptional. My cousin said it was late and she didn't want to really order anything. I talked her into ordering and then at least she could eat the leftovers for "midnight snacking" or lunch the next day. We ordered: -- Bellini: Prosecco infused peach purée -- Bread -- Scamorza -- Fire-roasted aged mozzarella, prosciutto -- Torta Granchio -- Italian crab cake infused with crab, shrimp, and mascarpone served with cucumber fresco and gastronomic roasted red pepper gelato -- Cesarina -- Kale, romaine, creamy Parmigiano dressing -- Agnolotti -- Torino-style Ravioli filled with veal, pork, and vegetables. Butter sage sauce topped with gastronomic black and white truttle gelato -- Pappardelle al Ragu -- Ribbon pasta, slow cooked pork, veal, lamb and chicken ragu (my cuzn's meal) -- Tiramisu Classico -- Lady fingers, espresso, mascarpone Everything was delicious, especially the Torta Granchio. Gran Caffè L'Aquila needs to lead with this appetizer. It was delicious. My cousin and I ordered two more to go!! Our pasta meals were decadent and delicious. We shared the tiramisu and we both agreed it was fantastic. Classic is the way to go. We left with full bellies after having wonderful conversation. We both agreed we'd be back!! BTW: I booked our reservation OpenTable and got 1000 points for it!!!

5 stars for Bud and Marilyn's? I recently gave The Love 5 stars for its fried chicken!…read more The Marilyn's Fried Chicken I had this evening was every bit as good! I'm not sure why I waited so long to try the chicken at Bud and Marilyn's, but better late than never! They serve a LARGE 1/2 chicken. I started with the thigh. I was smitten by the first bite. I was told the chicken is soaked in a buttermilk brine for 24-48 hours - dipped in a buttermilk dredge - covered with their 'secret recipe' seasoned flour - and fried in a 'pressure fryer' that cooks the chicken in 12 minutes. It was perfectly fried - so crispy - the texture and seasoning of the exterior coating was incredible. The chicken was tender and juicy - the thigh was the juiciest - I didn't get to try the drumstick as I was too full! I had the thigh and 1/2 the breast. The breast is my favorite and I savored each large delicious piece I broke apart. It's important to pick up the chicken and eat it by hand - I did cut mine in half for a picture - but didn't use a fork to eat it - you lose the 'panache'of the meal. I didn't use the hot sauce served with the chicken - I brought my own bottle of honey and poured it over the chicken and biscuits. It was heavenly! Which brings me to the Biscuits! The dish comes with 2 large fluffy buttermilk biscuits - they were golden brown on the outside and tender and fluffy on the inside! They had such a rich, buttery flavor. I took several pieces of chicken and layered them on pieces of biscuit, drizzled with honey! It was truly a 5 star fried chicken and biscuit dinner!

They definitely seem consistent, which I really appreciate. I came with a couple of friends on a Saturday afternoon, and wow... this place was packed. Even with the crowd, the staff stayed friendly and worked quickly, so we didn't have to wait too long for our drinks. One thing I still love is the seating. They have giant plushies sitting in the booths, so if you're by yourself, you're not just awkwardly staring at an empty seat across from you. Maybe I'm the only one who appreciates that, but I think it's a cute touch. The matcha here is the real deal. It's bright green, fragrant, and has that rich, earthy flavor with just enough natural bitterness that you know they're using quality matcha. A lot of places advertise matcha, but this one actually delivers. I ordered one of their matcha desserts with ice cream, and it was creamy, refreshing, and let the matcha flavor shine instead of burying it under sugar. My only complaint is that it was pretty warm inside. It was a hot summer day, and I honestly couldn't tell if the air conditioning was running or if it was just fans. Either way, it wasn't very cool inside. Thankfully I had ice cream, so it didn't bother me too much, but it's something to keep in mind if you're stopping by on a really hot day. Overall, another great visit. Friendly staff, consistently high-quality matcha, and a fun atmosphere. If you're a matcha lover, this is still one of my favorite spots in Chinatown.

I personally thought the matcha one was the best. The service was quick and informative. And I loved the little booths they had, it was adorable. That aside, I do think the drinks are mediocre. I ordered their most popular, Mango Matcha and their Hojicha Latte. Sadly I was disappointed, the mango matcha was VERY sweet, but the texture was creamy. I just couldn't get over the overpowering sweetness of the mango puree, but that's my personal preference. The mango flavor itself wasn't bad! Maybe half sweet would be the way to go, Im not sure if they do adjustments. If you love yuzu, I don't recommend their yuzu soft serve HOWEVER their matcha soft serve is pretty yummy Their Hojicha was watery...I really hoped it would be better. I don't recommend it.
