    Lemon & Guava Gelato

Loved my experience at Cloud Cups and can't wait to go back. The Lemon Gelato tasted so fresh and we talked to the owner and he said he had lemons flown in from California (From his mom's garden!). Guava was really good too. I'll def be back!

Froze, pina colada, mango, and cookies and cream

So many interesting flavors of gelato and sorbet. I have to admit that the fruit flavors of sorbet were really good. The Mango was ultimately the best (they definitely used fresh pulp). The next flavor for the sorbet would be the pina colada (it tasted very accurate). The gelato is typically my favorite but this didn't taste like gelato. Usually gelato is thick but this was more lighter (maybe that is why it is named cloud cups?). I had the cookies and creme gelato. I really liked the Oreos in it. I think it was really cool they offered a flight option (4 scoops).

Had a taste for some dessert, so I took a ride to Cloud Cups located in the Fishtown section of Philadelphia. The place was somewhat dingy looking. It needed to be brighter and cleaner to me. It wasn't filthy dirty, but it needed a bit more sprucing up. The young man behind the counter gave me a run down if all the flavors of the week. I decided to go with a scoop of Blood Orange and a scoop of Apple Juice with a waffle cone. The sorbet was very good, sweet, and smooth. Almost like a Philly water ice, with more consistency. I wished there were regular spoons instead of the tasting sample spoons. Also, it was very hot inside. The air was not on while I was inside. Although I like the creativity of the different flavors of the week and for the seasons, I am not sure this will be a place I will frequent often.

New location that just opened last week. They have a cute little ice cream stand inside of pizza brain. From their Instagram it looks like they have rotating flavors so check their page to see what is available! I tried the blueberry mascarpone, Nutella, red velvet cheesecake and mango sherbet. Out of these my favorites were the Nutella and mango. Plenty of seating inside and some benches outside as well. Make sure to stop next door and grab a slice or pie!

Pineapple grape, orange strawberry lemonade, limoncello

Good bye to old Baby's and say hello to Cloud Cups. This small business is shaking up the local ice cream / gelato scene! I would rank the quality of the flavor and the texture above Wecklerys and below Jenni's. The service is nothing but awesome and the vibes are great inside Pizza Brain. I had the pineapple grape which is more pineapple than grape but I think masterfully balances sweet and tart for a refreshing sorbet. If you want a mind boggling creamy and tart flavor - you need to get the limoncello! I have no idea how they pull it off without the creaminess cutting into the tartness. Well rounded indeed. The orange strawberry lemonade was also good but less bold in flavor than the other two so hard for me to compare. Get some pizza and order some scoops - isn't that the summer dream?

Not a huge selection but that's fine! The pina colada gelato I had was amazing!! Place was a bit beaten down maybe but no big deal.

A day with beautiful temps meant everyone was flocking to get ice cream. When my friends and I…read morearrived around 4:30 PM, it was somewhat hectic, but there were three associates behind the counter so the wait didn't seem long at all. For a limited time, they have a "Biscuits with the Boss" flavor as a collab with Ted Lasso. I was feeling something fruity so I went with Watermelon Taffy and Goat Cheese with Red Cherries. The half scoop needs to be a thing at more ice cream shops because it is the PERFECT portion! I loved that I could try two flavors without feeling stuffed. Goat Cheese with Red Cherries - very rich and creamy with just enough of the tart cherry to balance out the goat cheese. Watermelon Taffy - almost like a sorbet with watermelon flavor. So refreshing! The little waffle cone piece on the side was a great way to add crunchiness. Every flavor at Jeni's is so fun and interesting. I can't wait to stop in again!

Had this back to back with a nearby local ice cream shop and wow-- Jeni's is fantastic!…read more I really appreciate the creativity that they put into their flavors here. I sampled five flavors and my top three were the Hibiscus Chili Punch, Summer Berries + Passion fruit, and the Watermelon Taffy. The staff member that helped us was very kind, informative, and enthusiastic. He was very open about the flavors and was not shy to tell us what might be too sweet. I wish we came earlier in the day because we got there 30 minutes before closing and they were already in the process of cleaning up. The store still had a super cute color theme going on and it was very clean. We sat at the window barstools while we finished out single scoop. One unique thing about Jeni's is that they serve each flavor by the half scoop, so one scoop automatically defaults to two different flavors!

Another trip to Philly and another delicious lunch at Gran Caffe L'Aquila! Appetizers, entrees,…read moregelato, coffee- all delicious! Prompt, friendly, courteous service, as usual. The place was busy, but that didn't delay our orders. We could hold a conversation without having to speak loudly. We bought some dark roast beans, ground there for espresso, to take home.

The food here was fresh and delicious. Starting with tomato and basil bruschetta and Mozzarella,…read moreboth the tomato and Mozzarella tasted like they were harvested that day. Even the grilled bread used for the bruschetta tasted fresh. Arancini with pork and veal ragu peas was great; the peas added a new texture to the traditional arancini. We also got fried artichokes as an appetizer. It was crispy and salty -- I could munch on that alone. For the entree, I got the veal braciole with tagliatelle and tomato sugo. The whole dish tasted homey, like what you would get at an Italian family's house. The veal braciocle was small, and I wished there was more protein and less pasta to be more balanced. For dessert, everyone raved about their gelato. Their pistachio flavor was clearly a favorite, as it had intense fresh pistachio flavor. It was also tan in color, as you would expect a pistachio nut to be, not the artificial green color added to other pistachio gelatos. I had the amaretto cherry flavor. It was good too, although I wished it had more cherries. A few people got their espresso, and really enjoyed it. They roast their own coffee on-site, so I am not surprised again how fresh it tasted. Tip: Pour a little of their fantastic coffee over your gelato to make your own fresh affogato. I came here with a large group and despite the tight space, we felt cozy. Service was spectacular. We had multiple food allergies in the group, and the waitstaff took each one very seriously, asking down to the detail if the allergy was by consumption or cross-contamination. Thank you to the staff for being so conscientious!
