Across the street from Wichita State and two blocks from Dellrose UMC, this coffee shop might have the nicest and most plentiful staff I've ever encountered. I think I saw at least six employees at the counter, and it appeared that a couple staff who were not working were sitting close by, sipping lattes. My scone was delicious! I've been coming to Fairmount for the past 4 years. The staff here are wonderful and feel like family. I'm always greeted with a smile and a "how's your day going?" Their coffee is always delicious. The lattes are really good. Some are on the sweet side, so I like to ask for half sweet. There smoothies, salads, sandwiches and breakfast are all really good. The Shocker is my favorite sandwich here. The shocker is a hot sandwich with turkey, avocado, bacon, cheese and jalapeño ranch. Definitely worth a try if you go! There is wifi and plenty of seating to work on homework or other work. There are also couches to sit on as well which is great if you're meeting a friend for coffee. read more

I ordered my food on doordash. I already have a low expectation when I doordash food which is ironic because we actually pay more than being at the restaurant itself but receive poor presentation because it's to go. I ordered the chipotle chicken wrap and as you can see they forgot to add the chicken. I had to open my sandwich to double check just in case it was cut into small pieces but no, all veggies. I ordered the ice honey lavender latter which wasn't bad but not something I'll get again. I also got the stench mint tea which was nice. Wish there was an option to add honey. I will have to try this place again in person to see if this was just a one time bad experience or this is really how they operate. Not recommending this place to anyone for now. read more

Well sad to say my 1st experience here was a bit disappointing. The house-made, "not too sweet" (as I was told) vanilla chai was rather sweet. And they lost my breakfast sandwich order. I had to go ask what was up and they didn't even know what I ordered. Considering I'm on a road trip and trying to get out of town after this I was disappointed they didn't do better. The place was very full, not much seating available when I arrived. Had to wait for people to clear out to sit down. The sandwich was fine, although nothing to write home about. I'm a sucker for coffee shops , so it was only right that I found one while visiting Wichita, KS. Stopped at @fairmountcoffee by WSU campus . Enjoyed the chill vibes with different areas for relaxation or getting some work done. Caramel macchiato is always been my go to , no matter what! Nice jams softly playing in the background , while the sweet smell of pastries fly throughout the shop. Also serving wraps, sandwiches, paninis and select seasonal drinks. Nothing actually bad happened while we were there...The employees seemed to gather in groups away from customers to stare, talk and laugh....might want to engage with customers...Wife and daughter stood at counter to explore drink menu & wasn't informed that they were closing soon, so before they were ready to place their order, the person disappeared...like magic‍ then some employees started putting chairs on tables...so we just left and visited their competition down the street. read more

This was a treat to visit while here in Wichita. My husband, son and I all enjoyed the coffee, breakfast and pastries. I had a delightful sausage, egg, and cheese on a ciabatta roll, and it was very filling. Not small in the least. Also, this coffee shop isn't one of those tiny nooks, it has ample space for any Wichita State student who wishes to study. That being said, although there are cushioned sofas and chairs, the actual tables have hard aluminum that may cause your stay to be at a minimum. I also did not notice any loud music at this place, which is nice. My husband and I both enjoy exploring coffee shops, and it's disappointing when the occasional shop has very loud music. The special treat here was the brewed coffee (as we are partial being from K.C.) because they brew "The Roasterie" coffee. read more

My boyfriend and I went there and he ordered a breakfast sandwich. In which he didn't know had onions in them, as there's usually a list on what the burrito has and there weren't any. He went up and told them that he didn't know there were onions. Turns out they can't give him a refund and said they would just make him a regular breakfast sandwich. To which he never got one. A breakfast burrito, mango smoothie, & a coke bottle all for $15. And he didn't get to enjoy his food. Overall, the atmosphere makes up for it as well as the many outlets in the lounge. This place has a great atmosphere for studying and catching up with friends. I love all the natural lighting, comfortable seating, big tables, soft music, and lots of outlets. The staff is super friendly, and the coffee never disappoints. So glad we have this place in Wichita :) I always run into people I know! read more

I'm sorry but will not be coming back! Came in with no welcome so I tried to break the ice and say hi with a big smile but got nothing returned. I then awkwardly ordered and saw she gave me a disgusting glance when she thought I wasn't looking... thought she was having a bad day so my husband and I agreed to leave a 20% tip... well quickly regretted it when we got our drinks and she ignored my request when specifically said just ONE pump of mocha in my latte 3x! It tasted straight up just mocha sauce and my husband's cappuccino was just as disappointing. Our visit was cut short when another couple walked in and was given a proper welcome with a nice smile, just 8 mins after we came in! I'm not too sure if it was a race thing "we're Hispanics " or she had a lot of envy towards me because again she ignored my hello and gave me a full body scan with a nasty look. Please do better! Possibly one of the best coffee shops in town and not to mention -- they serve breakfast all day. I repeat, breakfast all day! The exterior doesn't look like much, but the interior is where it's at. Grey toned with wood tables, modern, and bright with more than sufficient seating and a back room with a fireplace and sofas. Extremely cozy and casual. Fairmount Coffee is a comfortable, happy place to enjoy a coffee. Their baristas are quick and know their drinks; I was able to choose a delightful beverage by simply stating a couple things I was looking for in it. Their tables are well-spaced in this time of Covid and they are one of the few places open. The space is clean and bright, too! read more

I absolutely love Fairmount, it's one of my go-to coffee shops in Wichita. I love that it's right by campus and gives me a convenient, local alternative to chain coffee. By far, my favorite coffee shop! Located right by WSU, this little shop is a work oasis with comfy couches and lots of table space. I'm not exaggerating when I say the caramel latte with soy milk is the BEST latte I've ever had! I sadly can't bring myself to try anything else because it is so good. I also really like their salads. It would be awesome if they could do a lunch combo: half salad, soup, or sandwich (hint hint). read more

Their food never disappoints either, I've had their onion rings, fried pickles, beer battered fish, orka, sweet potato tots and pecan pie, all were really good, definitely better than The Anchor's food and definitely better than The Hill's onion rings and Bricktown Brewery's onion rings and most definitely better than the onion rings served at Applebee's and IHOP. I definitely can't wait to visit this place for its fifth anniversary, I will sure be back.

The flavors are subtle and the gochujang aioli with pickled veggies really balance out the sandwich. The Cheddar Potato Leek soup is a hit, every bite as good as the first, and with the fall / cooler weather coming I'll be looking forward to ordering this often. If you're able to make it here around the 2:45 + timeframe it's pretty open for anyone to come in and get served immediately as it is just after the lunch rush. The inside is dimly lit, and You'll hear the staff hustle and bustle and the kitchen with the clinks and clanks of dishes and silverware. Music ranges with just about anything.

The duck glace was pretty good and flavorful -- leans savory and sweet. The sweet potato puree was a good balance to the duck breast, creamy and a bit of zest. Bok choy was slightly over-charred but otherwise ok. The croquette was cool already when we got it so I didn't enjoy that quite as much. Broccolini wasn't my favorite. It was really woody. Maybe it was just my portion, but I should've gotten a different side. Portions were just right. Overall, not a bad place for a Friday night dinner or a little date night!

Ordered twice already from Fairmount Coffee Company, and because they are DoorDash orders, I expected them to be not all that great. However, the three drinks I've ordered have been consistently enjoyable and made my days. I also appreciate their delicious Maple Bacon Scone and their succulent breakfast sandwich -- which is 100% customizable with various proteins, toppings, and even the option for gluten free bread.
