Listen, brunch here is a must. Literally recovering from a night out last night. This restaurants brunch menu is on another level. Our server was Lexi, and typically I judge the service by how long it takes the server to refill the water. My water cup never went empty, she was on top of it. Lexi also kept an excellent conversation, very knowledgeable of the history of the building, the starting of the restaurant and anything you needed to know on the menu. Absolute superstar! Time to order and food to table was minimal, food is delicious and the restaurant uses local suppliers where they can, so it supports local growers. The inside has a beautiful art deco vibe going and the lighting is dimmed so it sets the mood. The music isn't loud, so you have the subtle sounds of other people talking, and the hustle and bustle of the kitchen staff working. Overall one of my most enjoyable experiences for a first time here in Wichita. This is definitely a place I will be recommending to everyone, and be coming back to from now on. read more

I dined here several times when visiting Wichita. Very hip, cool spot with great food and good value. Not the cheapest restaurant in town, but the quality of the meals are high. Corkage fee will set you back $15. The appetizers are fantastic here. I would give most of the mains 4/5 stars. I had to send my burger back one night as it was overcooked. Great evening at The Belmont... was busy so a little bit of a wait for four of us , but the bar has an open seat so I cozied up and got a great martini with blue cheese olives. Very cool atmosphere inside and good for large groups with upstairs seating. Loved how much it was lit up from the large windows!! Food, pretty good all the way around. For me, Wagyu steak frites were done just right and I orders a side of their whipped mashed for the table. Those were excellent. Others in the party had chicken cordon blue and the pasta and chicken dishes... both were excellent!!! My sister ordered the steak and it was quite good as well. Just a little underwhelmed at the cheese and meat board, I would pass on this and try something else. The bread appetizer stole the show... a definite must try!!! The hospitality of the hostesses and the exceptional service of the staff combined with the decor are the primary draws for us to keep coming back. Sometimes we find the music just a touch too loud, so be aware of that if you are hoping for a quiet conversation with your meal. The food is always prepared with fresh ingredients and there is a well-curated menu. The chips and dips sharable side had yummy, yummy dips- all three- but the chips were not seasoned or fresh/hot to us. Sort of mid. The fried green tomato crab salad appetizer was a creative combo, and it hit every note of texture, hot crispy tomatoes against cool creamy crab, surprising salad green bits with an intriguing hit of honey? A vinegar dressing? We don't know exactly what it was but it was delish. The meatballs were stuffed with mozzarella and came with a side of cheesy bread. The marinara was flavorful and delicious. I prefer meatballs cooked a bit longer/softer, but the flavor was great and hubs particularly enjoyed them. Savored the warm saucy protein on a cool, breezy patio. Extra note: staff worked together exceptionally well as a team. Super professional, approachable, and knowledgable. Of note: Zavier is a special server who knows and performs his job so well. I called 2 weeks ago to make a reservation for tonight. I was told by the hostess that we didn't need reservations! Tonight we tried to get a seat and were told we couldn't be seated because we didn't have reservations. There were lots of empty tables! My wife and I usually stick to our two go-to restaurants for date night, but tonight we decided to try something new--and it did not disappoint. Despite the restaurant looking pretty packed, we were seated immediately. They also have an upstairs seating area that looked like a fun spot to dine. For appetizers, we shared the butter bread, which was so good I almost ordered another just for myself. For my entrée, I had the Wagyu burger with truffle mac and cheese. The burger was perfectly seasoned and seared just right, with melted cheese adding the perfect touch. But the real star of the meal was the truffle mac and cheese--packed with flavor and served over radiatore pasta, which was a first for me. My wife ordered the chicken carbonara, and it was equally delicious. For dessert, you must try the caramelized banana upside-down cake. Trust me, you'll thank me later. This place is definitely making it into our regular rotation for date nights! read more

We have been here for breakfast now and dinner. We had my husband's surprise birthday dinner here and they were super accommodating. We were able to bring his cake we ordered here and have it after dinner. Everyone loved the food, his family came from out of town and they were raving about all their apps and entrees. This restaurant is so beautiful during the day on the patio in good weather or in the evening it's so romantic inside. Never have had bad service or a bad meal here. First, it's beautiful inside. The service was quick and precise, everything arrived as ordered. The others got the Smokestack Burger and the Short Rib Bolognese.. they really enjoyed, even had enough bolognese to take half home. I ordered the Crispy Skin Salmon without the potato chip garnish... it was exactly what I wanted. The salmon was a perfect medium, moist with the crispy skin. The volute was sooo smooth and the roasted potatoes were great, not over cooked. Everything was seasoned perfectly not a fan of the salmon roe, it was fishy, and the crème fraîche was nice with the potatoes but got lost in the volute towards the end. I do think some fried leeks would be a great garnish instead of the potato 3 way situation... but overall 10/10! read more

Wow, Intown for the holidays and family is a dry state. So tried a couple of cocktail bars late evenings. This is a restaurant but has a small bar area and great bartenders. They had a good selection of drinks but I'm a traditionalist and do dark liquor in the winter and white in the summer and the Manhattans did not disappoint. Oh, did I mention this restaurant is gorgeous and was a surprisingly happening spot. I'd love to come here for dinner, but y'all know Mama ain't having it during Christmas maybe if I come in the summer. read more

We went for early happy hour and dinner. I ordered the charcuterie board to share along with the corn ribs. The portions were great for sharing. My friend ordered the Chicken Cordon Bleu, She said the chicken was moist and the gravy was well seasoned and the creamy potatoes were amazing. For cocktails we had Sangria, both red and white were well balanced and a fresh finish for an evening on the patio. The restaurant and patio area were designed clean lines and natural fixtures. Having the patio table fans to keep the bugs away was a great idea however we had a few close run ins with a wasp and a couple of bees. Not sure what their attraction to our table was but luckily no one was stung. My only critique was the music was a fair bit loud for having a conversation with ny guests. I thought it was just me but the people two tables over shouted to her friend to repeat what she was saying stating she couldn't hear her. All chuckled a bit but with that confirmation I asked the waiter to dial the volume down a bit and he graciously did so. All in all, I highly recommend an evening on the patio for sure. This restaurant is beautiful. It was crowded and the atmosphere was buzzing. Service was also pretty good. However our orders took almost an hour for food to come out. My girlfriend had to pack up her lunch to go because she was late back to work. This is pretty unacceptable for food to take this long especially when you are there for lunch. I had the pleasure of visiting the Belmont with my family, and they are great with first impressions. The interior fits the theme of many other restaurants around College Hill, with a very well lit and fancy atmosphere. The service was impeccable, with water always staying full and being able to get in and out in under a hour. I got the steak melt, and the steak was very tender and the fries had a nice crisp that other places sometimes fall short on. My favorite dish was my sister's carbonara, which had a very tasty and creamy sauce with tender chicken. My mom's fried chicken sandwich was also very delicious, as you can't ever go wrong with fried chicken on a sandwich. We ended our meal with the Caramelized Banana Upside Down Cake, which was eaten too quick to make a photo appearance. All of the dishes and service was wonderful and I will be returning! read more

I had the poblano biscuits and gravy for brunch and it was good. The fresh squeezed OJ was amazing and hit the spot. I will say I am disappointed that they don't do anything for birthdays as I went with a friend and wanted her to get sung to or anything really and the fell short. They do nothing except put a candle in the food (this would have been great!), if they actually do it. Food and atmosphere is good though. First visit, very laid-back and hip place. Started off with a bruschetta appetizer and I must say that their bruschetta is unbelievably delicious! You have many different topping options in which to choose, the presentation is beautiful, and most important, the flavors are amazing! Our servers were extremely helpful often checking in to make sure our food and drinks were correct. The decor and lighting is so cute! The food was great and I really loved the flank steak app as my main course with the horseradish cream. Start to finish this was a great meal and experience. I don't cough up 5's much for restaurants but when it's worthy I will. This place was great. We did not have a reservation and pulled up on a Friday night. They looked very busy, it was loud and lots of groups of people as well as single tables filled in addition to the bar area. We were immediately sat in a half circle booth and placed drink ordered. We ordered the bruschetta plate for an appetizer - with 3 choices of different types. We ordered a traditional with pesto, a Brie and fruit preserves, and a fig and prosciutto option as well. The Brie and traditional with pesto were great - I would recommend this as a pick. Looking over the menu, there were several things I wanted to try, but already having some of the items, I went with the steak and potato route. I ordered the ribeye medium with broccolini and potatoes. When they served the steak they asked me to cut it and approve it as medium - which I liked rather than me cutting it and having to send it back. It was done properly. Steak was great, sides were great, and for dessert I went with a carrot cake which was cut in a cylindrical fashion and was surrounded by a cream cheese froth sauce. Very very very good. I've been here several times and have had only one experience where it wasn't top tier (thus, the 4 out of 5 stars). Great food! I have enjoyed everything here except for the soup - I think others may like it if they like tomato tasting soups. Salads are always fresh. Enjoyed brunch this past Saturday and everything was lovely, including our server, the food, and the patio in the nice weather. We started off with a mimosa pitcher, and chose a mixture of cranberry and pineapple juice. The pitcher was heavy on the prosecco so no complaints here. We then enjoyed chicken fried mushrooms as an appetizer which was incredible and unique compared to other restaurants. Finally, we ordered separate brunch entrees including brekky tacos, sweet Dutch baby pancakes, and the bear omelette. I came to The Belmont in Wichita to celebrate my birthday and the service was incredibly disappointing and frustrating. Our server took nearly 30 minutes to even acknowledge us, and that only happened after we made the effort to get his attention. Throughout the meal, he barely checked on us, and when he did, he seemed rushed, distracted, and uninterested in being there. What really made the experience worse was how the manager, Amy, walked by our table three separate times and didn't look at us, speak to us, or acknowledge us in any way. Meanwhile, she stopped to greet every single table directly around us each time she walked by. I didn't say anything at first, but by the second time, my friends noticed too and were equally frustrated. It felt like we were being ignored, which made the whole experience uncomfortable and disappointing especially since it was a special occasion. The food was good, but the way we were treated made it clear that food isn't enough to bring us back. read more
