I needed a storage unit for a few months for some garage kept items, like a snowblower, a pair of…read moretires, a few empty coolers etc. I got a mailer at home with all the wonderful features included: a reasonable monthly fee, no long term contract, video surveillance, free move-in truck, month to month. The place is spotless and new. Front desk personal were helpful, gave me the tour and quoted me a monthly price. As I'm about to sign, they tell me that my first payment is due now and its about 3 times the monthly price. SCREECH to a halt. Pro-rated rest of this month, second month, service fee. What about the free-month? That's the third month. What? Where does it say that? Nowhere exactly, but that's included deep in the "some restrictions may apply" language around page 17 on the the little credit card pad. I say, "Never Mind". They say, "What?" Yup, cancel it. Call it off. They offer to give me second month free. I repeat, they offer it. I agree, so now we're down to pro-rated one month and next month free, plus service fee. I put my stuff on a cart, take it up the elevator, load. Low and behold, I get an e-mail survey and respond that I think their "one month free" deal is deceptive. I get a personal call from a director level person who advises me that I'm not welcome. After my "free month", come get your stuff. I call to come get my stuff and they inform me that access by drive-in is limited to certain hours on Saturday and that elevator is not useable. (This is a brand new facility) They don't actually say this, they say something like, "Foot Traffic Only", which I asked them to clarify. So, I said, I have to bring my snowblower down three flights of stairs? They got mad when I said I'd put it on one of their carts and push it down the three flights unattended. It will be much easier to roll the tires down. I hung up on them. Going to get my stuff a week early. I can safely say that their biggest selling point is "We won't raise your prices every 3 months like Public Storage". PS: I wonder how many patrons fell down on their super slick drive-in coating. Maybe that's what they're repairing. I don't know.

We highly recommend the services of Feasterville Upholstery. The owner is highly responsive, the…read morework quality is great, and the turn-around time is impossibly fast. (See large photo below for the finished project). Permit this post to provide a brief backstory. In summer 2019, we "rescued" this vintage Dorothy Draper "Viennese" bench from Maryland. The bench was in unloved condition: Poorly reupholstered, shabby, and painted in gray latex paint (over the original lacquer and gold leaf). (See first small photo below). We began the rehab process last summer. This spring, my husband beautifully re-lacquered the bench, and he applied gold-leaf paint to the rosettes and other decorative elements. (See second small photo). At long last, on June 10, we delivered the bench to an upholsterer with whom we had previously worked. A week later, she provided a labor and materials estimate that was unequivocally outrageous. When gently pressed, she could not explain her numbers; she instead petulantly insisted that the numbers were appropriate for a small business. On June 20, we rescued the bench for a second time. On June 21, we delivered the bench to Feasterville Upholstery (also a small business) which had provided a firm estimate that was 40% of the first one. Here's the astonishing plot twist in the Dorothy Draper bench "dramedy": Feasterville Upholstery completed the project less than three hours after the bench's drop off (see third small photo, which Feasterville texted from the shop). The bench is home, and we could not be more thrilled with the result despite the unnecessary drama created by an unscrupulous contractor and the ensuing bench rescue from Chester County.

Suburban Solutions did a solid job of helping me move on relatively short notice. The house I was…read moreplanning to move into fell through a few days before the move, but SS were very flexible when my plans changed. They also did a good job of providing information up front to prepare me for the move itself and give me an estimate of costs. All of my stuff arrived at my new place, and none of it was damaged. That's a big plus. The two guys who helped me move were a pleasure to work with, and they worked quickly and efficiently. 2 relatively minor issues kept me from giving them 5 stars. Issue 1) One of the movers tried to pile a bunch of boxes (most of which said fragile) on a handcart. The other mover cautioned him about stacking too high, and the guy just laughed it off. As he started to push the cart, the boxes almost went over. I had to throw my bodyweight against the boxes to keep them upright until he could fix the imbalance. It was a rookie mistake that put my stuff at risk. Issue 2) In emails before the move, Suburban Solutions said they'd arrive at my house between 1:30-2:30 pm. On the day of the move, I got a call at 8 am saying they were an hour away. We were able to get everything done despite the early arrival, but it added a bit of stress to the move. I would use Suburban Solutions again for a future move.
