Checked in late after going to a convention at Mohegan Sun. Hotel was clean, staff was friendly, bed was comfy and the lighting was good nice and soft. They had a breakfast bar and I just got coffee and it was good and I'm pretty picky with my coffee. Usually hotel coffee is weak, but this time. First of all, I support this hotel whenever I travel to this area for business. The hotel has a 48 hour cancellation policy. Upon calling the hotel more than 24 hours in advance of my stay and informing them I would not make it and need to cancel due to illness and require cancelling my entire trip. They said no problem. Now upon challenging this both the manager and front desk have no notes in the system the reference this and claim that I haven't called the previous 4 days this week as well. I know I personally called the hotel, as I utilized the number in the hotel section of the Bonvoy App. I didn't not make a note of the name as I was laying in bed with the flu. I do travel frequently and stay in a Marriott property 45+ nights/year. I was even traveling to one when I had to return home with the flu the first leg of this trip and the property in Boise had no issue! Most Marriott's require a 24 hour cancellation and have never had a problem. As a Lifetime Gold member and multiple years Platinum, I have been truly loyal to Marriott. This property's management is rarely in the office as I have called on multiple occasions and feel that their customer support is less than stellar if in fact they don't have the appropriate notes as I've left with each team member this week, yet she is claiming no one has gone into my profile and made any notes. At this point, she is unwilling to refund my reservation fee of $160+ and remains on my credit card. They were argumentative and stating specifics that I knew were not correct of my actions and whom I contacted...So, I question where the disconnect is in their understanding of customer service. I have always been treated with respect at other Marriott properties. Be cautious at this property! read more

Had my reservation called the day of performance. Even confirmed reservation on Bonvoy app the day before. Only notification was an email sent 3 hours before deadline of cancellation from a random email address and went to spam. No phone call or voicemail. Upon arrival was told we are full. Wow. Worst night's sleep I've ever had. The noise in the room is so bad it seems the building was made of paper. Noise from the road, the adjacent highway, stomping from the room above, the hallways, etc. noisemaker didn't help without being its own source of obnoxious noise.And the elevator always smells like weed. Breakfast doesn't open until after 7 on weekends. Shuttle to the casino is a nice benefit, but overall for the cost, it's not worth it. read more

Fairfield by Marriott was a pleasant experience. Our king suite was clean and decorated with balloons and some munchies for us to enjoy along with an anniversary card. Breakfast, buffet style and self-serve, was also included; we enjoyed the waffle that we made onsite in addition to the fruit, muffins, coffee and juice. Sausage and scrambled eggs were also available. All personnel were very welcoming, kind and helpful. The only negative which was rather upsetting is that we were kept awake by lots of talking and television sounds throughout the night which impeded our sleep time. read more

Rude Staff, Rundown Room, and Garbage Customer Service -- Never Staying Here Again I booked this stay through Expedia, and let me just say -- they've been complete garbage when it comes to helping resolve any of this. Between the hotel and Expedia, this whole experience was a mess from start to finish. I paid $863 for three nights at the Fairfield by Marriott near Mohegan Sun while traveling for work, and brought my family along for spring break. I requested a first-floor room and got stuck on the 4th floor. The room was muggy, the shower was peeling, and the fridge wasn't even cold -- the bare minimum wasn't even met. Then, not even 30 minutes after arriving, someone from the front desk banged on our door at 1 a.m., waking up my mother and rudely saying, "People all over are making noise complaints about you guys." We were just getting settled -- the TV was on volume 6, and I was pulling out the sofa bed. My kids had just woken up from a long nap in the car. There was no phone call, no polite approach -- just instant attitude like we were a problem. And to top it off, Expedia has been useless in helping me address any of this. No support, no resolution -- just pass-the-buck behavior from both sides. I've stayed at many Marriott properties and used Expedia plenty of times -- but after this experience, I'm seriously reconsidering both. The rating for this hotel on hotels.com is bull****. It is not a 9.0 rating IMO. Mohegan sun gets the same rating and it's superior. The hotel is ok, but the mattresses aren't great. My brother couldn't sleep and left at 6 AM. We were supposed to have breakfast together. I told the front desk this and she said her manager would call. She didn't know what to do since I wasn't a Marriott rewards member. THE MANAGER NEVER CALLED. Overrated hotel, but it's a good option near Mohegan because of the shuttle and it's half the price. I reserved a room on line but the only room available was a double queen room. It was my birthday weekend w/ my hubby and I asked, in the comment area of the reservation, if there was a possibility to get a room w/ a king bed. When we showed up they had a little birthday bag w/ snacks and a card signed by the staff AND a king room! The staff was friendly, efficient and the hotel was spotless. The breakfast was DELICIOUS and the selection was great for all eaters. The shuttle runs to the casino from 4:00pm to 2:00am so no driving if you decide to have some of the free cocktails! If you're going to Mohegan for a concert, stay off site with this partner hotel! I highly recommend this hotel. read more

I will only comment on the breakfast that was offered here. It was a standard continental breakfast with scrambled eggs, sausage, yogurts, fruits, waffles, and different types of bread for toast. I was not too impressed with the spread, but I do not know what I was expecting. I had the oatmeal and a packaged yogurt. I added some cinnamon sugar and golden raisins to the oatmeal. The oatmeal was a standard plain oatmeal and was better with the sugar and raisins added. The yogurt was refrigerated properly so no complaints there. Will I go back? I might if I have to. read more

Worst experience I've ever had at a hotel. Had booked for two nights using points. Called to tell them if only be staying the second night. Not only did they fail to record the information but manager on duty refused to give me the general managers name. They had 5 of our confirmed room type on file but refused to release it unless we paid $499 and Michelle was the rudest person I've ever encountered in the hospitality business and actually smiled the entire time saying I had no proof of calling. Super nice hotel just a five minute shuttle ride from the casino. Great free breakfast with tons of hot and cold options. Coffee was pretty decent and hot, hot, hot! Free copies of the USA Today available too. Nice sitting area for your brecky breck. All rooms are furnished with a sitting area and love seat, fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. Good size tvs too. Paul Mitchell bath products were a very nice surprise. Beds are so subjective, as are pillows, but I wasn't done wrong by either. 2 elevators in house and ice machines at the far end of each floor. They also have an indoor pool and fitness center which I didn't use. Supposedly they have free printing available in a business center as well. WiFi was super strong...a must for me these days. Most parking is on one side of the building, the side opposite the drive thru. Get a high number floor or a room like 101 or 201 because there is definitely road noise from a nearby thoroughfare. The oh ones are opposite the main thoroughfare and will be much quieter for you. Mike at the front desk was simply awesome and was super accommodating when I asked if the walk in rate was lower than what I had booked two moths prior; gave me the lower, walk in rate since it was indeed lower. Bonus!!! Saved me 36 bucks...more loot for the one armed bandits nearby that always seem to rob me. Shuttle is free and runs to midnight during the week and 3 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. They have lots of staff and seem to care about doing a great job to get repeat business. Smart, as I will most certainly be staying here again when visiting the area. My only gripe is check in isn't official until 4 pm, but these folk seem accommodating so if you arrive early and they can get you to your room, I'm sure they will. Honestly it was a perfectly good room, if you're only going to be there for sleeping for a few hours, and a convenient 5 minutes (or less) drive down the street to the Mohegan Winter Garage. This is my third stay over a two year period, and I see it has greatly improved recently. The hotel and grounds are clean, well maintained, comfortable, with friendly, courteous and helpful staff. Check-in and out is a breeze. Plenty of parking plus a free shuttle to Mohegan Sun. The pool is clean, both elevators are functional, there is a nice selection of cold and hot food and beverages at breakfast (although the sausage egg and cheese on the bagel was tough, but maybe I was late and it sat for awhile). The room was clean, quiet, and spacious. An overall pleasant experience. See you again! read more

My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary. We chose it because of its location between casinos, and it is all about location! It was about a 10 minute drive to Foxwoods and a 3 minute drive to Mohegan Sun. Although we were under the impression the shuttle to Mohegan Sun ran all week, we found out our second day there (a Monday) that the shuttle only runs over the weekend. We were a bit disappointed, but we weren't too upset because of the close proximity to Mohegan Sun and free parking at the casino. Our room was big and was spotless when we arrived. There is a "living room" with a sofa bed, tables, extra storage and tv. There was also a microwave and fridge in the living room area. The bedroom had a king size bed, lots of storage and a tv. There were a ton of outlets, and outlets on both sides of the beds, which my husband and I were thrilled about. Also, the bathroom had a large countertop, with Paul Mitchell bathroom products Breakfast was good. There were plenty of warm options and cold options, fresh fruit, juice and coffee. The only real disappointment we had was that the pool was closed for renovations and we weren't told until we asked later into the first night of our stay. We were really looking forward to a swim at some point. Overall, I would stay here again and would recommend it to anyone. read more

It was a good sized room for two people. The bathroom was on the opposite side of the entrance, an unusual setup, but it worked pretty well. They offer prompt service to and from the Sun, though not until 4pm. To get to the gym, I had to walk through the indoor pool area. So the chlorine smell got into the gym and it got pretty heated. The result of that was when I was running, after a while, I had the pool room sweats going. Not the best design. They did have a good amount of free weights and cardio equipment. Breakfast was alright. The turkey sausage wasn't great, it could've been seared better. The cheese omelets were fine, at least they tasted like actual eggs. read more

We had stayed here on Saturday night when we were going to Mohegan Sun. This place is a lot more affordable then staying at the actual casino and it is very convenient. It is right down the road from the casino and they provide a free shuttle bus back and forth. The bus picks you up right in front of the hotel and drops you right off in front of one of the doors to the casino. It runs back and forth every 8 minutes or so, and is about a 5 minute drive, it runs until 3 AM. They give you a number to call as well, if you don't see the shuttle when you're ready to go back. It worked out perfectly, and is great because no one has to worry about parking or drinking and driving. The hotel was good too. Very standard Fairfield in. We are big Marriott fans, so we stay in them a lot. A bit noisier than most Fairfield Inn's, but it was because everyone was going to Mohegan, so it didn't bother us. They also offer complimentary breakfast int he morning. I recommend staying here if you are going to the casino! read more

immaculate clean comfortable excellent near the casino for about $120 a night with a free shuttle to the Mohegan casino; lots of options at breakfast that was constantly maintained with fresh food; and the indoor pool with crystal clear water highly maintained; and a good gym. I spoke to the maintense man; at a hotel he took extreme pride in the condition of the pool and rightfully so it was one of the best maintained I have ever seen; keep up the good work you are a true professional who takes pride in your work.. Very comfortable beds friendly staff lady at the front desk was nice I believe her name was either Amber or Ashley ?....great value compared to staying right at the towers at the Mohegan which is like $500 a night... For anyone looking for a hotel near Mohegan, I would strongly recommend Fairfield Inn. It's only a 5 min drive away. Pros: (+) Interior of the rooms are modern and very clean. (+) For the ladies, they surprisingly included a make up remover towelette as part of their personal care amenities. I forgot to bring my mine that night so this was a godsend. (+) We were assigned a wheel chair accessible room by chance. The shower was very spacious with a foldable seat attached to the stall. 2 shower heads were included. (+) They have an app for those who don't have cash to tip house keeping. (+) For just 1 room, they had 2 flat screen TV's. One in front of the bed and one hanging on the wall in front of the living room couch. (+) Microwave, mini fridge, and a knock off Keurig with coffee were included. Cups are plastic/paper and bagged in plastic for those concerned about cleanliness. (+) The complimentary breakfast station was nicely done. Scrambled eggs, sausages, toast, bagels, yogurt, cereal, coffee, juice, DIY waffles. Exceeded our expectations. For those with the Chase Sapphire credit card, points can be used here to cover the cost of your stay. read more

What a wonderful anniversary getaway we experienced at the Fairfield by Marriott Inn and Suites. The checkin was seamless with the smiling, welcoming faces of greeters Emily and Nicole! They couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. Our room was spotless, spacious ( they call it a king suite ) and well laid out. The Inn even "smelled yummy!" The room rate included a full breakfast and there again it was terrific. Unlike some breakfast buffets, this one was spotless, bountifully stocked and the hands on attendant was front and center to address any questions, needs or concerns. The coffee carafes were full and steaming hot ( just the way we like it) and every surface was continually wiped down. On the second night of our stay, upon entering the room after a delicious dinner in town, we were surprised by a gift bag resting on the lounge table. It was filled with bottled waters and lots of snacks to munch on. By far, the best part was the beautifully written anniversary card thanking us for choosing their venue in which to celebrate!!! That truly meant a lot to us. Taking the time to express these thoughts and making us feel so valued as guests is something many higher end venues often take for granted. We had such a wonderful experience that we booked another stay for the fall. Thank you to the staff for making our little getaway so very memorable! You are all priceless! All the best! read more

Recently renovated with a free shuttle to the Mohegan Sun Casino. Above average breakfast. I will be back. On my next stay I will be asking for a room away from the busy main road. Next to the road, on the second floor, it was too noisy. It sounded like a construction site busy. The room was comfortable and nicely decorated and also felt modern and fresh. The shower was great and the water pressure was very good. Why is it every hotel I visit gives you 3 full towels? Ladies correct me if I am wrong, I need a towel for my hair and another for my body. I feel like a jerk asking for another towel. I don't need 3 hand towels. Please just give each room 4 bath towels. The bathroom amenities are Paul Mitchell brand. Score! Such a nice surprise from no name mystery shampoo. The bed was comfortable and linens soft. Plenty of pillows. The light blocking curtains worked as well as any other hotel. TV in main bedroom was average size. Lots of outlets. It had a sitting area with another TV and lobe seat. Definitely liked having a refrigerator and microwave, which are standard with every room-You know for late night snacks. I loved having a designated driver, aka free shuttle to Mohegan Sun and it runs frequently; till 3 am on Friday and Saturday and midnight every other night of the week. The breakfast area was well stocked and had a nice variety. Multiple waffle irons, toast, omelettes, scrambled eggs, yogurt, cereals, muffins, bagels, turkey sausage and Canadian bacon. I really liked the oatmeal with upscale mix ins; sliced almonds, golden raisins, candied walnuts and brown sugar. Ok, so it's more like dessert than breakfast, don't judge me. Multiple fruit juices as well. The coffee is solid but they also have a plethora of tea. One of the free best hotel breakfasts I have had. The parking lot is sufficient. If you park early enough un the eveni gand use the shuttle, shouldn't be a problem getting a spot around back. There is a CVS and Rite Aid nearby as well as gas stations. This review is from our stay November. This hotel is clean and they provided service back and forth from the hotel to the casino. It is a quiet venue and the front staff was very helpful. The negatives is during the stays in both 11/22 and 11/21 the pool was not available. Be sure to call before you stay if you are interested in the pool. Additionally the breakfast during our 11/22 stay needed help. The food was not tasty and we didn't even try to eat breakfast on day 2 it wasn't worth it. read more

Manager refused to compensate us - was very abrupt AND would not provide more than Lynn N. For her name. I asked for the franchise contact information and she refused to provide. I did copy KVNRB LLC Hotel Equities Inc off the wall. KVNRB you need to do much better and your general manager needs a serious attitude adjustment. Pros: -Extremely close to the casino. Dare I say, the closest hotel to Mohegan (other than the rooms AT the casino)? -Large rooms with a pull out couch -Smart TV with Netflix and Hulu apps for the win. Cons: -The bed was not very comfortable. My husband and I both sorta rolled into the middle where there was a huge indent and didn't have much support. -The "shuttle" was a guy in a minivan, not a larger van or small bus like I imagined. It was fine going to the casino because we were the only ones wanting to go. However, leaving the casino after a concert was a disorganized disaster. When the minivan pulled up, hoards of people bum-rushed it without consideration for who had been there first. We ended up taking an Uber back and I thought for the very short distance we traveled it was expensive ($15 and not during surge pricing). Would I stay again? Sure thing. Was it a perfect stay? No, but good enough and with Marriott Points it was free. read more

DO NOT STAY HERE! DO NOT BOOK HERE! I booked a room here in August, and had to cancel 3 days prior to my stay. I was still charged for the room and could not reach anyone at this hotel to resolve this issue. I ended up contacting Marriott customer service and ended up filing two complaints. The customer service rep attempted to contact the hotel and could not find a manager on staff on a Tuesday at 5PM, and the lone staff member could not assist in any way due to not having the authority to refund charged accounts. After no resolution for 2 weeks and no contact from the hotel management, despite the Marriott customer service rep emailing the entire hotel staff to respond back to me, I filed a formal complaint with the better business bureau and initiated a charge back with the bank. While the cost of the stay doesn't impact me significantly financially, the complete disregard for their customers is appalling, there are people that live paycheck to paycheck, and $120 could mean the difference between eating or paying their rent/mortgage. read more

Was a great stay until I woke up in the morning to shower and had bugs rinsing off of me , I tried to talk to the front desk lady kindly but then the maintenance man cut me off rudely without a mask and disregarded everything I said . Seriously, there's really no reason to pay $400+ a night to stay at Mohegan. Yes I've stayed there and the rooms are very nice, but this hotel is literally about 0.6 miles from the casino. My friend was visiting from Boston and we wanted to enjoy Mohegan without worrying about driving back to my house late at night. Enter Fairfield Inn. Our room was huge! We had a separate living room area with a desk and TV. Our 2 queen beds were clean and comfortable. The complementary shuttle provided by the hotel is spacious and runs very frequently. We left for the casino around 6:30pm since we had dinner reservations. Once we got dropped off, the driver informed us where to wait when we wanted to return, and gave us the phone number to call for pick up. When we decided to leave around 1:30am, the driver was there in less than 5 minutes so we didn't have to wait long! The complementary breakfast the next morning was a nice touch as well. Toast, eggs, coffee the usual. Just what we needed before checking out that morning. Even though I usually just day trip to Mohegan, I can definitely see myself returning here when I want to spend the night. read more

My family of 5 stayed there for three nights. There was a pull out bed in the couch, my son found it comfortable. The little sitting area in the room was nice. Both the room and hotel had just been completely renovated, it is very nice. The staff was very friendly and they did a great job making sure we had a good stay. Hall smelled of Marijuana. I left my smart watch in the room on accident. I contacted the hotel less than an hour after check out and was told the room had been cleaned and sanitized already and no watch was found. I contacted the hotel 3 other times and was told repeatedly that the watch wasn't there. I explained to the head of house keeping that I was tracking my watch and the location shows it at the hotel. She stated she would look again and miraculously it was found!!! So either they are not properly cleaning the rooms per CDC guidelines or there is a thief on staff who thought I would just believe my watch disappeared!! Either way I will be contacting thier cooperate office to file a formal complaint!! read more

Stayed here for a conference based in New London for USCGA, very quick and efficient check in for large group. Hotel is very nice inside, lounge/dining area was very clean and moder n. Rooms were amazing, all suite stule with microwave, mini fridge, coffee, and a living and sleeping room w lots of desks and also a closet and dresser. Spacious! Clean! A little noisy since it's roadside but manageable. Breakfast options were plentiful from fruit yo waffles to eggs, oameak,cereal,juice,toasts,etc. Very mini store in lobby, pricey. Overall, great stay, great staff and loved that the shuttle was accommodating to take us to send from mohegan sun. read more
