I was hesitant to return to the Fairfield Inn in Cherokee again but the rooms in Murphy were more expensive and looked very outdated so I decided I was better off with going where I had been before and just needed somewhere to sleep. I was provided a welcome bag with a water, Doritos and a Hershey bar. So that was nice. The AC in the hallways were working this visit and the AC in the room was working. So I am glad those issues were fixed. The hotel seemed much different than my prior stay. A problem still not addressed is with the outlets as there was not anywhere to plug in my laptop at the desk. The only outlets I could find were in the bathroom and on the bedstand. I did find a power strip behind the desk later but those were all being used. The tv turned on by itself at 2:52am and woke me up. So if I ever stay here again, I will unplug the tv before going to sleep. Breakfast was mostly good but some of the items like the fruit compote, seemed rancid. After one bite I decided it wasn't worth getting sick. The items weren't stored properly or replaced with fresh from the day before. I was happy to move on. If someone hadn't set the timer on the tv to turn on in the middle of the night, this would have been a great stay. So I would return here again but unplug the tv the next time. read more

Comfy and convenient. My cousins and I enjoyed a nice stay at the Fairfield Inn. They had comfy beds, which was perfect for our night before hiking. It was also conveniently located across from the casino, so we could get late night food, as we arrived late in the evening. They also had a great spread for breakfast, which was included in our cost. There was also a small gym, which allowed me to squeeze in a quick run in the morning. The staff were incredibly kind as well. We would definitely come back for stop through to the Smokies. read more

Usually stay here when visiting cherokee since I'm a Bonvoy member and have great status because of business travel. Wanted to show off the fall leaves to my parents who never had been to the casino before, but also showed parts of Cherokee and neighboring areas too. This property is so convenient to walking across the street to the casino. Today Logan helped us check in, and get us settled in. Always has good service when coming here, and today was no exception. Fairfield Inn & Suites is great alternative if you prefer not to stay at the hotel attached to the casino. Great location and upgraded rooms. Check in was very quick and easy. The hotel did require masking and signage was posted at the time of our visit. We stayed on the third floor. The room and bathroom were clean and spacious. Our room also had a microwave and micro- fridge. It appears that a portion of the hotel is undergoing renovation however, it does not disrupt the flow for people traffic. The hotel also has accessible elevators and steps. Fairfield is in a great location and literally in front and across the street from Harrah's casino. Would highly recommend because of location and upgraded rooms. Hotel offers hot breakfast, free parking, cable tv, and wi-fi. The cost includes a tribal tax. We paid approx $35.00 dollars. read more

If I could give this place a zero I would. This stay was one of the worst I've ever experienced in ANY hotel in my life! We was given dirty room, LITERALLY !!! There was a bag of onions in the drawer, yes, you read right, A BAG OF ONIONS! The refrigerator was dirty, the pillows look like they had been used by someone with dirty hair. Crumbs on the dresser top. There was soap still in the shower, a stain that appeared to be blood on the wall beside the toilet, urine stains on the toilet and down the front of the toilet.... Just horrible!!! The sad part of it all is the way they ATTEMPTED to make it right. They upgraded our room immediately, which was great. But raised the price of our room then gave us a discount of half of that (our starting rate was $598.00 for two nights, when we got our bill it was over 800.00 after the "discount"). It took us going to the front desk six times before the manager decided to comp our room for the weekend. It's one thing to find simple things that may have been missed but this was ridiculous and should have been resolved by comping the room as soon as it was reported. read more

Talk about a letdown. Not worth your money. It comes down to management or lack thereof. Details at this property are not important. Between the smoking area just outside the front doors to the clogged sink in the room to the loud hallways on multiple floors overnight. The shower curtains are so short that the wall outside the shower is water damaged (eyesore) It is a very generic minimalist property. read more

Generally I would give a hotel like this 3 stars, although this particular location has a few things going against it. There is only one garbage can in the entire room, and it's not in the bathroom, which makes no sense. You may be thinking to yourself, well maybe Jeff just happened to get one room with no can, but this isn't the case, I am here with an extremely large group taking up many rooms and no one has a garbage can in their bathroom. The second reason I am giving 2 stars is because upon entering the room the desk was sticky and there was garbage in the chair (odd since the garbage can is right next to the desk). The internet does have a free and paid option, the free stuff seems to work fine for Netflix, so i'm satisfied. There is a flatscreen TV in the room as well. read more

If your coming to Cherokee to visit the casino and can't/don't want to stay at the casino this is the best hotel you could choose to stay in. The hotel is literally across the street from the casino, and there is a sidewalk and crosswalk leading to same. The hotel is clean, and quite. The continental breakfast was superior for this type of hotel. The 4 star rating is based off of other hotels of this caliber. This is obviously not a resort but the location, price and cleanliness is right. read more

I got here at 7 PM after doing mobile check-in and the parking lot was packed. The front desk was attended to by a super helpful agent. I had temporarily parked in front and she offered to move her car so that I could have a parking spot. Check-in was smooth and the room was clean and had a refrigerator and microwave. It's also conveniently located near the casino (within walking distance). Complimentary breakfast in the morning consisted of a waffle maker, pork sausage, eggs, cereals, milks, juices, muffins, and fruit. It's not an IHOP but it's complimentary which is nice. I stayed at this hotel for the past two days and it was a great experience. It was clean, well run and managed. Sandra, Brittany, Jo and my housekeeper were all amazing. We stayed at this Fairfield primarily because it is right across the street from the Harrah's casino. We paid $139.00 a night which is high in comparison to the other hotels and motels in the area. But, you know, I just can't resist racking up Marriott reward points and my hope was that the higher cost would equate to a better hotel. For this price, I've definitely stayed at much nicer hotels but this one wasn't so bad. It was clean and again right across the street from the hotel. On the downside the room was tiny, the beds small, the walls thin, the trash cans missing and the free breakfast could hardly be called a breakfast (cold items only and plastic ware). If by some miracle I end up in Cherokee again, I might stay here only because the other hotels look a bit sketchy. read more

As Fairfield Inns go, this one is pretty darn good. The breakfast is a bit beyond their standard. And the rooms are pretty nice. The pool is very warm, which is a big plus when travelling with a child who loves to swim. On the minus side, the TVs are old, and the channel selection is pretty weak. And it is a Fairfield, which means a pretty basic breakfast buffet. read more

Linda is amazing and the rest of the team seemed to be willing to assist in any way possible. The hotel rooms are a little dated but the whole point of staying here is to not be in the rooms I guess. Does NOT support the military!! Apparently this specific hotel does not meet the views of the rest of the Marriott corporation. Instead this hotel will only allow military to pay a government rate Sunday through Thursday leaving our armed forces personnel to pay a huge out of pocket difference for Friday and Saturday. Extremely disappointed with this hotel and its management that attempted to correct the situation by providing a $5 discount rate on Friday and Saturday. What a way to help and support this nations warriors. You won't be receiving my money or Uncle Sam's money again. read more

Great location - you can walk to Harrahs and a conveience store right next door. Friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast is really good - We've been here 3 days and the same girl manages the breakfast. She's really sweet and seems like she enjoys her job. Beds and pillows are pretty standard for this type of hotel - it's not the Ritz Carlton bedding but not bad. I would stay here again and I would recommend to others! The lady at the front desk told us since we were staying there for our honeymoon we were going to get to stay in their "mack daddy suite" later we found out there was a bigger/nicer room with a jacuzzi tub??? Are you kidding? What a rip off. Anyway the room was okay I guess. The trash bins didn't have any liners in them, witch I found strange. And the bed was extremely firm. The rooms are extremely out dated. There were ~stains~ all over the couch. Gross! Lots and lots of noise early in the morning if you stay on the first floor. And also the back door doesn't work if you try to come back in using your room key. You can only exit. Witch was a huge inconvenience because our room was right by the exit door. Oh and let's not forget about the spider we found 2 hours after we checked in. Every night we both felt like spiders were crawling all over us. read more

Brought my silly wife and mother in law for the weekend. Fairfield is directly across the street from Harrah's. Front desk people from happy and friendly. Housekeeping people were happy and friendly, room was nice and clean. In the morning, the included hot/cold breakfast items to choose from were excellent, scrambled eggs, sausage, waffle maker etc. The breakfast staff were also smiling and happy. First day this room smelled like marijuana, second day this room smelled like a weed fest in the bathroom and a cigarette fest in the room. Laura the clerk said that she found where the weed was coming from but didnt know where the cigarettes were coming from.....what laura didnt mention was that she was the only person working in the hotel WTF!!!!! On a Saturday evening and the only person working across the street from a casino....this is suppose to be a smoke free hotel.... the whole hotel...HOW? Its better to give the option because if every hotel in the surroundig area are booked then your gonna get smokers in your non smoking hotel GEESH!!! If you are a non smoker and want a non smoking room stay at this hotel at your own risk. As I type this review I am looking at poor laura tell customers staying in the hotel that call and come up to the desk with the same complaint that if they give it a minute the smell will go away beacuse she has sprayed the hall ways and the elevator. Terrible stay. Did not sleep all night due to road noise, guest noise, stairwell noise and doors opening and closing all night. I have heard "sorry" many times but they still kept 20,000 points for our nights stay. Our complaints have been brushed off with the old promise of " let us make it right next time". No, you were asked to make it right this time and failed to do so. Will never stay there again read more
