As part of our stay, we booked a night at the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott just outside Perry Hall in Baltimore, and it turned out to be a genuinely pleasant stop on an emotional journey. The lobby was beautifully dressed in full autumn spirit--scarecrows, pumpkins, rich fall colors--like a warm seasonal hug. The staff even allowed us to check in early, which was a thoughtful touch that we really appreciated. My wife handled check-in and was greeted by Tyrell, a standout concierge who not only made the process smooth but also shared some great recommendations for things to do in Baltimore. His kindness set the tone for the stay. Our room was impressively spacious, featuring two queen beds, a mini-fridge, a coffee maker, and a standard TV equipped with Netflix--perfect for winding down. The only hiccup was the TV remote, which felt like it required superhuman strength to use. I initially thought it was just old batteries, but even after a trip to the front desk for replacements, it turned out the remote itself was just... well, not the hotel's finest feature. The second minor annoyance was an unexpected 6 a.m. alarm that no one in our family had set--an unwelcome surprise before breakfast. Speaking of breakfast, though--what a highlight. The spread was delightful: eggs, sausage, yogurt, cereals, and the always-fun make-your-own-waffle station, complete with batter dispensers and sizzling waffle irons. It was a cheerful way to start the morning. Overall, our stay at the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott was comfortable, welcoming, and filled with thoughtful touches. What a cute hotel suite! We hadn't stayed at a Fairfield for years. Everything at this location was nice. The suite was okay for two people, and the decor was 70's retro. It just needed vinyl records on the wall. The sitting room had a desk, two chairs and a TV. It was separated by a half wall and a closet. The bed room was adequate size. It had a nice bench to open my roller board. The queen bed was comfortable, and the room was quiet. There was another TV. We had enough outlets to use. The bathroom was good size. The pool was outside, and I didn't check the workout room. Friendly. Clean. Typical breakfast in a nice area. Lots of parking. We enjoyed it. read more

I was in town for a friend's wedding so I chose this hotel based on location. When I checked in I was greeted by the front desk staff and advised of local surroundings and shuttle services. The staff member was pretty friendly. The room was comfortable, however both nights my room and the halls smelled like marijuana. I complained to staff and they were unable to find the room that was smoking. I was worried my bridesmaid dress would reek of the smell so I was pretty concerned. The hotel has complimentary breakfast. Pretty standard- eggs, meat, yogurt, breads, fruit, and pancakes. Overall decent and close to the mall and fast food locations. read more

My family and I are Marriott Bonvoy Members, and we have not been pleased with the services here at this Marriott location. We have been coming to this location for the last 6 months, and recently they have enforced a parking free of 13.80. We were not told about this fee upon arrival, and my Mother had to pay extra. On top of the fees, the furniture in the rooms are old. Most importantly the main issue with this establishment is the bathroom. My elderly father slipped in the shower and tore his shoulder. There is no protection on the shower floor, and with soap it makes the floor quite slippery and dangerous. The only decent thing about this place is the free body wash, which caused my dad's injury, and the free orange water. My family and I quite displeased. Do not waste your money and time. read more

Great, convenient location in White Marsh, right off Honeygo Boulevard and Mercantile, near everything and right off I-95. Walking distance to the Taco Bell (yum!) and just a short walk or drive to all the restaurants and the White Marsh Mall itself just down the street on Honeygo Boulevard. The hotel is four floors and has ample, no-valet, no-ticket-needed, self-parking spots right in the front of the building. The hotel is clean but the orange paint throughout is not really appealing to me. The room was big and had a microwave, fridge, and flat-screen TV. Free unsecured Wi-Fi is available. Room is keycard entry. The breakfast is included and really generous: cereal, Chobani (ooh la la!) yoghurt, water, orange juice, apple juice, skim and fat-free milk, bagels, fresh fruit, scrambled eggs, ham, bacon, bananas, apples, waffles (make yourself), and much more! The staff are generally friendly and available. The only down side of the stay was that the hallways were ice cold. I definitely recommend this hotel if you're in need of a place near all of the action of White Marsh. read more

As Weary travelers going back home to maine from Florida we randomly picked this hotel and was just what we needed. Upon arrival was a friendly face! Yay! I just need to do a quick update because recently I've become a platinum member with Marriott rewards. That means I get 200 extra points during each stay or I get to choose something from the market (like a drink or chips), which is a nice treat. I was also recently chosen as the guest of the day, which meant I was greeted by a bag of sun chips, a Hershey's chocolate bar, and a bottle of water along with fancy soaps and shampoos and bath salts in my room, which was pretty cool. It was bound to happen eventually, since I've spent more than half a year here so far. The staff has been more than accommodating with my request for a room with a fridge (just ask and they'll give you one if there's one available) and a few times, they put me in a suite when there was one available. The suites are really nice because the area with the bed is separate from the living space and there's a tv in each space, which is nice because that means me and my companion can each watch what we want. However, since the spaces aren't completely walled off, you still have to be mindful of the volume. I've also been frequenting the gym more often (trying to get in shape for an upcoming trip to Maui) and I've found that it's always hit or miss in terms of machine availability. There are only 2 treadmills and 1 elliptical machine and then a bench for weight lifting and there have been multiple times where I've gone to the gym to find all the machines occupied. It's not a huge deal because the weather had been warm enough that I could just run outside but since the weather has gotten more fickle lately, I'm kind of screwed if I can't get a machine. Also, let me comment on how awesome the cleaning people are. The bathroom floors, sinks, and counter tops are always spotless and shampoo/soap/conditioner supplies are always replenished. read more

This is probably one of the cleanest and friendliest hotels I've ever been to, and I'm always on the road! Also, they were just chosen as the best Fairfield Inn in America for 2009. But then, the General Manager who brought them these awards, was wrongfully terminated based on false accusations. The hotel remains clean, but the new manager doesn't offer the same level of friendliness and customer service. It's a shame. If I have a choice, I'll try to avoid any local hotel operated by Skye Hospitality. read more

Convenient location to I95 but the mattresses are the WORST. These have to be the worst hotel mattresses that I have ever experienced. They are thin, bumpy and way to worn out. The pull out coach mattress was even worse. Sleeping on the floor would be more comfortable. I will definitely complain in the morning. Quite a lovely place to stay, and a pleasant experience for weary travelers. This hotel is extremely well appointed, very comfortable, and filled with extremely nice amenities. The king beds are clean and comfy, the rooms are spacious and possess generous working space with a desk, sitting chair, and plentiful lamps and modern lighting. The bathrooms are updated with modern fixtures and are very functional with large granite countertops and tall mirrors. There is a very generous, free hot, and healthy breakfast 0600-0900 daily and there are fresh, replenished urns of swell tasting coffee and hot water for tea available 24/7, along with homemade cookies (while they last!). The staff is totally professional, very friendly, and just about as awesome as they come. The housekeepers are equally amazing and create different artistic designs with the bath linens each day that give the bathrooms a simple but elegant touch. Truly a surprise to find this rather economical yet lavishly furnished lodging located so close to I-95 and I-695 access. The White Marsh area of northern Baltimore is beautiful in the spring and this location is prime for quick access up and down the 95-corridor. Trees were started to bloom and we even found some nice Amish produce stands a short drive away. Overnight stay. Loved the heating/cooling system i was able to set the auto temp and it regulated itself. Wall mounted. Roomy with refrigerator and micro wave. Located across the street from mall and less than 15 miles from the Harbor. This is a fairly new property that is well kept with professional friendly staff. The complimentary breakfast was fine. I didn't care for the eggs, but the sausage and waffles were fine. They also have a van that will take you within a 6 miles radius which offers many dining and shopping options due to the close proximity to the mall. Stayed here overnight to be close to Johns Hopkins appt the next morning. Staff was friendly. The room with king size bed was smaller then my other Fairfield stays and the bed was lower and mattress was to firm (almost like sleeping in one mattress). A phone rquest for extra towels was answered promptly. I've stayed at real Marriott's and this one clearly is a renter of the name. Day one at the pool and the lifeguard asked me to get out of the hot tub so she could leave the area. Also, you have to sign in to a book each day before you enter the water. Day two it was closed, day three I came out and was told i needed to wait to get in the water as it needed to be tested. I went back to my room and checked out after what was maybe strike 6! The ice machine was broken upon check in and the hot tub jets didn't seem to work when i actually got a few minutes in it. Coffee was empty when i wanted some and I could go on, but I've wasted enough time with this hotel. Over the past 25+ years, I always stayed at Marriott product hotels to get a guaranteed level of service. Clearly this hotel is not geared toward the guests and I seem to be something tolerated by the staff. It would be a good value if you actually got the service and were able to use the amenities that are here for the guests but I felt that everything was geared toward preventing me from enjoying my stay. read more

Okay, so here's the deal, the staff here are very nice, outgoing, and professional. With that being said, the hotel itself wasn't the best when it came to quality, in fact, you can get a much more at The Hilton Suites for the same price. The first room we received upon arrival was right next to an elevator, we didn't want to be right next to all of the action all night long, so we asked if we could be moved to another room. The front desk politely gave us another room with no problem. The next room we got to looked like a shabby room in NY. The closets weren't finished, the room had no style, I've actually seen better looking rooms in motels. I was really shocked in the quality of the room, when entering the room it's a long bland hallway to get to the bed and the actual room, very strange set up, stains on the wall, the beds weren't comfortable, I totally understand this isn't a 4 seasons, but damn!! After seeing that, we went back down to the front desk, and they upgraded us to a "better" room. The room was a lot better than the other two, but to be honest, it still wasn't what we expected. The beds were pretty hard, the room wasn't too clean, the showers weren't to clean, and the hot tub paint was coming off and a piece of the tub came off while running the hot tub. Like I said, for $160, I wasn't expecting Four Seasons or W hotel, but this was a pretty lame set up to have the name marriott involved at all... read more

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The front desk staff was very friendly, and the hotel staff provided excellent service. The hotel has recently been refurbished, and is very clean and new. The breakfast bar was well stocked. The beds were comfortable, and the rooms were well-lit. The sitting area of the suites was very contemporary and comfortable. There were TWO televisions in the room. Internet access was extremely fast (wireless router plugged into the room's wired ethernet connection). We were able to stream movies in HD without jitter / buffering delay. Great location in White Marsh across from Ikea and the mall. would definitely stay there again! read more

What a relief after the last hotel my family and I stayed in on this trip! Of course, this hotel is only three years old, but it is incredibly clean and modern. This hotel/inn is simple, with an nice, contemporary feel. The lobby/ lounge area is off the main check in area, has a flat screen above a nice gas fireplace and is used for a complimentary continental breakfast in the morning. The area is setup with juice dispensors, microwave, and the necessary lounging furniture, all neat and contemporary. In the back is a nice little pool area. They provide a washing machine and dryer, complimentary, as well as complimentary laundry detergent and bounce sheets: Nice! There's also an exercise room, complete with dumbell freeweights, bench, two treadmills with tv monitors, and an eliptical machine as well! WOW! Yeah, I threw-in a couple sets... just 'cause I could! ;-) The rooms have a new smell, and 9 foot ceilings: everytyhing is contemporary, with free wifi and wired Internet thrown in for good measure! The bathroom was clean as a whistle, and have granite countertops to boot! The matteresses were kind of firm for me, but the linens were crisp, fresh and clean. This hotel is immaculate, and we wish we could pack it away and take it with us for the rest of our trip(s)! It's new, and seems to be geared for the business traveler, but we were seriously impressed! If all hotels were like this one, we'd probably travel more often! This place is incredibly clean. It's as if it's brand new. It might actually be brand new:-D We got off Interstate, 95 trying to get 2 rooms in Hilton Garden Inn, apparently the most decent crib in the area. It was booked. The sister hotel Hampton Inn is literally across from the parking lot. They had 2 smoking room left. Needless to say, I wasn't a very happy truck driver (yeah, I rented a huge truck for the business trip......long story). But, I wasn't bitter. I didn't curse like a truck driver. Heading over to the Hampton Inn, I saw a sign for Marriott Fairfield Inn. Now, my only other experience with the fairfield inn was very nice. I got my colleague to look it up. It's just not listed in any directory. By the time we get to the Hampton Inn, he finally got through to the hotel and got us 2 brand spanking new rooms. Ok, they are not new anymore, but they are pretty new. We promptly canceled the smoky rooms and head over to the Fairfield Inn. (seriously, even smokers wouldn't want to stay in the smoking rooms.....only the most deadly ones would) The room is filled with green and orange. It's very um....chic. Green is not my favorite color. In fact, I don't like green at all. But the room feels bright but comfy. Being clean might have something to do with it, I guess. One night, the guy next door was moaning and puking all night, all morning. Unlike AC malfunction, I couldn't exactly complaining about a puking neighbor. At least, that wouldn't be nice?!?! I might have lost some sleep, but I didn't lose m y appetite. I cooked up one of those self served waffle in the morning. It was a whole lot better than the served waffle in the Hilton Garden Inn the morning before. (Hilton's tasted like cardboard) All in all, it was a very good stay with the Marriott Fairfield Inn. You are best off heading to one of the many other hotels in the area unless you don't mind having this place --shortly after check-in-- slap a $40 charge on your credit card without your knowledge, consent or even a good reason. That's what happened to me. The person at the front desk refused to remove the charge, could not show me where the charge was authorized on the paper I signed, said only it was "an authorization" and said "all hotels do it." Well, no they don't and I'll see that Marriott doesn't get to keep a dime of the money. In the meantime, if you want to avoid this thievery, I suggest you bypass this place and go elsewhere to the many other hotels in the area. Update: While it took just two minutes for the hotel to add this bogus charge to my credit card, it is now over 30 hours since we checked out and yet there is still no credit on my American Express card. Of course, I am having American Express monitor the charge, and as soon as it hits my statement, it will be disputed. In the meantime, unless you want to deal with this nonsensical thievery, go elsewhere. There are plenty of hotels in this area and many carry the same or better ratings. read more

I stayed one night at the Fairfield Inn and Suites in White Marsh Oct 12-13. I made my reservation a month in advance but had to pay for my room without the ability to cancel. If for whatever reason I did cancel I would forfeit the full amount (1). The room was clean and looked new. There was a bottle of water on the table which I thought was complimentary. Good thing I checked before a cracked the seal. No, it cost $5 (2). I was in a room next to the elevator. All night and into the next morning I could hear the bell of the elevator stopping at my floor (3). A free continental breakfast is what we now consider standard at hotels, especially for a room that goes for more than $140 per night. The breakfast sausage patties looked under cooked so I didn't even try them, the scrambled eggs were so bland I didn't bother to finish eating them (4). I would have been better off going to the McDonalds next door for breakfast. Check out was easy since I had already paid in full. Or so I thought. I checked my credit card statement later that night to see there was a $10 charge. I pulled up a copy of my reservation request and there below box with the total cost was, in a smaller text it stated there was a $10 fee for parking (5). Paid parking at larger, more expensive hotels in busy cities where parking is scarce is more commonplace. White Marsh hardly fits that description. Yes the room was clean and comfortable but for reasons I've stated above there is more to a pleasant stay than a clean room. Next time I'll stay someplace else. read more

I spent 2 nights here for a work event in March 2017. I enjoyed my stay there. Nothing really stood out as spectacular though the staff as very friendly. The room was decently sized, clean and was furnished adequately. My one minor complaint was that the room smelled stale/damp when I first arrived. it was like it hadn't been used for a while. I've stayed in a few hotels that have this smell. Once the air started moving, everything got better. The hotel was very quiet and had a nice buffet breakfast that I checked out one morning. The wifi works great, the location is near a mall and several restaurants too. I would stay here again. The price is reasonable and so is everything else. You don't get blown away but for some trips that is perfectly fine. read more

Fairfield inns are flaky. Some of them are great, some of them are like rebranded Super 8s. I am pleased to say that this newly renovated property sets the bar for the brand. Yes, rooms are small, but they were thoughtfully designed (re-designed?) with 4 power outlets at the desk, and 3 by each bedside. The bedding is comfortable (if the mattress is a bit hard). The large LG LCD TV has plenty of channels, but the added bonus there is a nice console sitting next to it that allows you to plug in your laptop, your iPad, or even a DVD player. That's great! The bathroom is spacious and the shower has a good shower head with great water pressure. Front desk staff is friendly. Van service is offered to the Martin State airport. McDonalds and Taco Bell are in the parking lot. Other restaurants are nearby, Ikea and a mall are across the street. read more

The bi-fold door only opens half-way, and in my room, the closet organizer took up the first half. I needed to maneuver to get my hanging clothes in there. We spent a night here on a BUSY Saturday and we were very surprised. We actually live in the area but needed a quick getaway without the kids. We were in the King suite with a hot tub. The customer service was amazing and very friendly. We told them we were on a marriage date and they gave us glasses for our wine and did not hesitate to tell the teenage lacrosse team to please turn off their music in the lobby. Our room was clean and the hot tub was relaxing. Wasn't impressed by the channel selection, especially since some of them weren't in HD. Biggest complaint is at the breakfast bar they do not have enough seating and there were ants on the wall. If your from MD, you know ants flourish in the spring so I wasn't that concerned.
