Like many clients, I came across Fairfax Brows and Ally through Instagram. I considered other cosmetic tattoo artists as there are several in the area; some who are cheaper, but who are not as skilled as Fairfax Brows (just compare the photos). Booking was quick and simple through the website. I scheduled an appointment for microblading - a month away because all other days were booked (a good sign). The studio is located in Mosby Tower - easy to locate with ample parking. I went into the studio and was instantly greeted by Ally and wowed by how visually pleasing and CLEAN the studio is. Ally recommended ombre powder brows vs microblading for my brow type and I'm so pleased she did. She took great care and time in mapping my brows. I trusted her 100% in selecting the pigment color. When it came to the actual procedure, Ally had a light hand (I have a few tattoos and can tell you some artists feel heavy handed). She was very clear on expectations (brows will appear dark at first, but then lighten for a more natural look) and after care. I was so pleased with the results that I also got permanent eyeliner done at my touch-up appointment. At least 2 of my co-workers have gone to Fairfax Brows since then! When I was searching for a place to get my eyebrows done, I came across this place and was blown away by all the great reviews about Ally. I should have suspected something when I saw all the reviews start with the name "Ally" and points out how nice she is. This by itself should have raised a red flag for me. I drove all the way from Maryland to get to this place, she has sent me numerous texts and emails saying not to be late or early so I made every effort to be on-time. When I asked her a couple of questions, her response would be like I told you, do not ask again. Very rude. I walked in and she came and opened the door, I was very happy and smiling, after all, I was getting my eyebrows done by a very nice and professional artist. That feeling didn't last long. She rudely asked me to put on shoe covers and go wash my hands, no smile, no welcome, nothing. I did what she asked me and then sat on one of the many empty chairs in the waiting area. She rushed to me and said get up! Sit at the other chair, you shouldn't be sitting at chair #1, sit on the #2. Whoa, what an attitude. All the chairs were empty, no one else was there that day!! She then told me that I don't look good at all at this age and that she can help me look better but can't promise anything! My jaw dropped. She was being rude and was making rude comments one after another. I got my eyebrows done and they are very uneven, when I called her she was like well, compared to what you look like before, she made me look better and that I should stop texting her and make another appointment to go get them touched up. NO WAY I am going back to that place and be treated like that. My friend also told me that her result only lasted 6 months so go figure. In love with my new brows~ How I came about hearing this place is through a friend's instagram. So I went onto their Instagram and saw clients' photos and I was definitely persuaded in getting mine done. I booked an appointment with Ally and had mine done today. The weather was really bad - it was pouring rain but that didn't stop me from driving to get my brows done. I drove for 2hrs back and forth from MD and I was exhausted. I chose microshading because my brows are very light and the procedure itself wasn't too painful and I definitely slept a bit during the procedure. The atmosphere was very calming and relaxing because of the piano music that was played in the background, the blanket she gives you to coverup, and the lighting/furniture was very inviting. I've been wanting to get my brows retouched and I was looking long and hard to find a place that would have a style that I would like. After all, your eyebrows can really change the way you look dramatically. I came in very anxious, since Ally was going to correct a powder job done 6 weeks ago by someone else working out of Finister's Tattoo in Falls Church. Ally then remapped my brows, and re-powdered and saline-treated the left arch and right tail. Although I have redness in these areas, I can see the shape of the brows are overall much better. The original work had my left eye lower arch flatter, and the eyebrow overall lower!!! than the right. The right tail was too high, not even in my hairline. The previous "artist's" solution was to flatten the right arch...and she even said they looked like how I would fill them with makeup, when I sent her before and after her work pics. Seriously, she was blind to her own screwup. Anyway, Ally and her assistant (?) for that was there were fantastic, and despite how my brows now look with the saline-treated reddened areas, I'm so excited to see the results. Hooefully the saline treatments pull up the old botched areas to fully show off her beautiful work. Although, realistically, I may need more saline treatments, I still can't wait to see the new results in a few days. read more

My friend recommended Ally to me. After I saw what magic she did to my friends eyebrows, I had to too! I also liked how her prices werent super expensive, but reasonable! I live in Rockville, so driving to Chantilly.. lets just say it was worth the long drive! Sometimes you have to find that person! I wasn't sure how thick or thin I wanted it to be so I told her to use her professional opinion and draw what she thought would look good for me. After she measured my brows, she let me look at it to see if I liked it. She made her suggestion which is a thicker brows for me, but when I looked it it, I didn't feel comfortable being ballsy enough to trust that itll shrink a bit so I told her if I could have it thinner meaning she had to re-measure my brows. She didnt sound/look annoyed, she happily did it for me. Finally we got started.. later she showed me different shades. Asked me to pick which one I like which was nice.
