I had my brows first done by Amy about two years ago and they completely transformed my look! I walked in to her super clean and cute office with barely any brows at all. They were super thin to begin with, and with age they had started to thin out even more. They were so thin, they disappeared in photos . Anyways, she helped me pick out color that would complement my ever changing hair color. The process it self isn't completely painless. She uses numbing creams on your brows so it is a lot less painful than getting a tattoo, but you do still feel the tools slightly on your skin. (A little) pain is beauty, right? Keep in mind your skin and your skin care routine can really impact how long it will take your brows to fade. You should expect to come in once a year for an annual touch up. Immediately after after a visit you'll need to avoid getting water on your brows for a day, and then avoid being in direct sunlight and sweating (I avoided taking cardio) for about a week for the ink to set. This is the same with tattoos (which I have a few of so I was prepared for this). Your brows will look darker than expected due to scabbing but your real brows will be revealed by the end of the week! One last thing to be prepared for: funny looks from people when your skin starts to heal and peel One patch of skin on my right brow which for no good reason just does not hold ink. It fades super quick compared to the rest which stays and fades consistently over a year, but this one spot just refuses to keep ink! Amy has been super helpful and nice in doing extra sessions to try going over that spot a bit extra. It's definitely easy enough to fill in this one spot with makeup but wanted to mention since Amy has done everything to to try to help it, but it's clearly an issue with that patch of skin. For you people who hate calling to make appointments, you can schedule online and even text her direct (I've sent photos of my brows this way) and she's super quick (within 24 hours) in responding! read more

Sometime in the last 3-4 years, my eyebrow hair has either slowed in growth or stopped altogether. I've been filling them in with eyeshadow or using those brow pens that draw a few thin lines at a time. I was chicken about this process because I wasn't sure about whether I could tolerate the pain or, even worse, I'd end up looking like Groucho Marx. I am not about the trendy, strong eyebrow game. I had been searching through Yelp and Facebook to see what reputable places offered microblading and I was about to head to Baltimore until I read all the reviews for Amy. And since location is also important, it helped that Microblading Magic & More was in Fairfax. Amy listens to your concerns and she definitely knows what she's doing. She makes herself available for any questions and she really knew what I wanted. She also told me exactly how my brows would heal, so I didn't freak out too too much. Amy knew that I didn't want strong brows, so I chose the shade lighter than black, which was maybe a brownish gray. During the healing process, your brows are pretty dark, and I actually grew to love the 'bolder' brows; so when I go back for my six week refresh, I'm choosing 'to go black.' I went here for the first time for Eyebrow and Eyelash lamination. The only person available to book was Yasmin. I enjoyed the appointment, the ambiance was relaxing and Yasmin was a pleasure to talk to! Unfortunately, she over processed my eyebrows AND my eyelashes. I tried calling the business several times, but no one ever answered the phone. So I sent an email with photos, and received a prompt response from Amy? The owner I believe. She offered me her sincerest apologies, and a full refund. Customer service at Beaute Bar is excellent, and Yasmin was very apologetic. Unfortunately, I cannot in good faith recommend this business, and I will not return. A month later, I am still dealing with the effects of the damage that was done to my lashes and eyebrows, and it will take MONTHS for them to return to normal. read more

Amy knows how to draw the lines and knows how to micro blade but unfortunately the product she uses is not good quality. I understand it's semi permanent but the fact that it faded so fast it was pretty disappointing. I would give her work a 5 star but for the quality of the product she would get 1 star. Amy is a true artist and I LOOOVE how she did my eyebrows! One has to be brave to let someone tattoo the middle of their face. So when you make the decision to do so, you have to be sure that you are choosing the right person to do it. I searched MANY MANY MANY microblading websites, yelp and google reviews before I selected Amy, based on the photos of her work. I wanted a NATURAL look, yet with my eyebrows looking more complete and filled in (as they are naturally a little sparse) but natural enough so that on days when I choose not to wear makeup they would not stand out on my face looking like I painted them on. I told Amy exactly what I wanted and I couldn't be any happier with how skillfully Amy assessed my needs and created the perfect look for me. Everything happened EXACTLY AS SHE SAID. The hours and days after the initial microblading procedure, my brows looked overly full and dark (with micro scabbing) which freaked me out a bit. But Amy gave me a heads up that many clients feel this way during this short stage. So I kept calm and soon pieces gently peeled off and revealed beautiful brows underneath. I had my touch up a couple of weeks ago and now my brows are even more gorgeous. I have never felt this beautiful without having to put on makeup. I looked for a while before deciding on going with Amy. Because I didn't want to end up w weird eyebrows, I looked as far as CA and NY but was hesitant because of having to make 2 long trips for the initial and then the follow session. I kept looking through before and after photos for artists in MD. Finally ran into Amy's work. Browsed through the pics and loved how natural everything looked. I knew I had found the one! This is my first so I was very nervous about the whole thing and wasn't sure what pain level to expect. I'm sort of a big baby when it comes to pain Amy was super patient and explained everything she was doing and offered to give breaks if I needed it. It wasn't bad at all and I didn't need any breaks. Amy actually thought I should go black since it's my natural hair color but she noticed I filled in my brows using a dark brown shade. So we went w a dark brown shade for now and if I decide I want to go darker she will adjust on my follow up. Amy is very nice professional and patient. Not once did I feel as if I was just another customer, there was no rush at all. Like a true artist, she took her time and made a few passes during my first appointment. I got my microblading done about a week ago with Amy. I was really nervous at first about A, The pain and B, what they'll look like. She did use a numbing gel which helped a lot. I barely felt it! I am so thrilled with my newly transformed eyebrows. I have never done microblading before and to be frank, I was nervous to even try. My eyebrows have been through some trauma and one of them have a scar from a car accident many years ago. So, I didn't even know if microblading would work on that specific eyebrow. I consulted with Emily, who's a new artist, about my brows and what I should do and let me tell you- she handle my babies with so much care. I trusted her to shape them and give them the life I knew they needed (especially on that one eyebrow). She drew the shape she felt I should go for (which were really along the lines of my natural arches- perfect), showed it to me, and went at it. The experience itself was so pleasant. Emily is hilarious and so she takes all of the tension of getting what feels like a tattoo away. She applied a topical numbing cream so I really didn't feel any pain. She was reassuring with what was happening and in no time, she was done and I had gorgeous brows. My one scarred eyebrow didn't even look like it had a scar (there was an eyebrow there)! I also loved that she didn't overdo it and knew exactly how bold I wanted my eyebrows to be. Even after healing, it all still fits my face beautifully and bold. This is maybe my longest review ever. I have been looking for a microblafing place for a while. I have seen really bad ones (in real life) and really good ones in pictures. So i didn't know if they were real or not. Since this is semipermanent i was really trying to find the best place. Amy was the BEST. To start, amy is a gorgeous young lady, with a great sense of style. I dont want someone with horrible eyebrows and style to give me ideas about my eyebrows lol. She listened to me to understand exactly what i wanted. She also gave professional opinion about what i should get based on my facial structure. I initially saw Amy for my first microblading in Nov 2018. Her studio is clean, well-kept and has a nice atmosphere. She's incredibly professional and made me feel comfortable during the process. My microblading looked so well done- natural looking but definitely more of the effect I was looking for. She coached me through the after care and I've never had any issues. This place has to be a scam with fake reviews. Took my fiancé to this place to get eyebrows done and ended up driving 40 minutes for nothing. The room is impossible to find and it was locked and just had a sketchy logo by the door with no number or name when we did find it. Nobody picked up the phone when we called. Amy is an eyebrow magician! Amy microbladed my eyebrows about a year ago and did an excellent job. There were two appointments, about 2 hours each about 6 weeks apart. Amy was very patient, gentle, and thorough in explaining the process. The actual microblading can be painful at times (at least it was for me) but right as I thought I could no longer take it, I was done. Amy does apply numbing cream and did offer me breaks during the procedure - my eyebrow area is just sensitive. About a week after the first appointment, my eyebrows did peel and there was (or what I thought was) minimal pigment remaining, which Amy did warn me about. But after the second appointment, I was so impressed with the final results. My eyebrows look natural and complement my face perfectly. I have been so happy with my eyebrows over the past year. While they have faded slightly, which is to be expected, I would say that they have retained probably about 70% of the original darkness, which is great. One thing I particularly appreciate about Amy is that she is respectful of your time. Both appointments started and ended on time, which not all estheticians are conscious of. Overall, I highly recommend Amy and will be returning to her for my annual touch up! read more
