My experience at Fairfax brows was very positive. This was my first time doing ombre brows, and I wasn't entirely sure what to expect beyond what I had read online. After looking at several salons in the area, I chose this one because it was well rated. Ally was my technician and she did a fabulous job about fully explaining all of the pros and cons of the procedure, as well as what to prioritize for aftercare. I arrived right on time as instructed and was greeted promptly by Ally. She made me very comfortable during the process, and I was impressed by how much time she took to really map and perfect the shape of my brows. HELLO 6/1/2021: I worked the entire pandemic in a hospital, covering my face with a mask, not caring about makeup. Now that everyone is emerging from their Covid quarantines with vaccinations, I want to be pretty again. It's time to be seen! I know nothing about brow language or brows or blah blah so initially, my search took me to temporary brows and lashes. I didn't find it cost effective because I thought well why would I pay sooooo much for something I will probably love, but only have a few weeks. INSTAGRAM Insta randomly took me to Fairfax Brows. It popped up on my search page for brows. Honestly, I did impulsively make the appointment without too much research. My research was their Insta and Googling "ombre brows" a few times. The Insta pics are so impressive so I was super trusting. Ally and Estee have amazing photo evidence that they do bada$$ brows. I looked through their main page and videos. They were responsive on Insta messaging too bec I wanted to give them the heads up, I have a scar through my brow. CHECK IN Really pretty and sweet suite in Mosby Towers. You're asked to come not early and not late, but right on time. You won't spend much time in the waiting area. They play really good music during your procedure. MAPPING The mapping was a very long process. Very long! I'm a mom to 2 boys and too many dogs, I don't sit still. It felt like an hour?! My eyes were closed so I'm not sure what it entails but 100% tons of geometry and symmetry on my face. Millions of marks. Estee was OCD level on it. I thought she was done 3 times and she kept going. Very meticulous. Obsessive about her work. ***Considering this is my face, I am so appreciative of the OCD! Thank you!!!*** This is definitely a lengthy process and probably a third of your appointment. They'll do one brow and have you look in the mirror. You'll agree together and then she'll draw out and map the other brow. When both are drawn, you'll get up and look in mirror and both agree again. TATTOOING When she first started, I thought it was easy peasy. As it went on, it did hurt. A LOT. ON FLEEK I fell when I was 3 y/o and have a scar through my eyebrow. I've done so much cuckoo with my brows to try and make them something, from shaving thinking they'll grow back thick, praying hoping hair will grow through the scar, to make up which eventually slides off. The past few years, I've just left them alone and they look absolutely wild. So I've NEVER had the luxury of thinking my brows are pretty. When the tattooing was done, looking in the mirror was totally unbelieveable for me. They're amazing! PERFECT & BYE I was insanely pleased with the cleanliness, the mapping, committment to perfection, and the client service. There will be a second appt. Touch up in 6 weeks. PLEASE Wear layers. I was wearing a silk top and FREEZING. I didn't say a thing bec I'm not messing with how artists prefer their work environment! You are tattooing MY FACE! I was a lip model for Fairfax Brows, so students did my lips and then a few weeks later, Estee touched them up. She was gentle, patient, professional and answered any questions that I had. I found this place through a friend. After doing months and months of research and saw valid photos of microblading and shadowing for the brows, I decided to check it out. Ally did a great job and she's very mindful of the pain that can occur when getting the procedure done. I got microblading and then shadowing done. The price wasn't too bad for microblading. Ally is very flexible with the timing. I'm glad she's moving to a new location in Fairfax instead of staying at hair prince. Every encounter at hair prince was a shitty interaction. The people that worked at the salon always had attitude and never greeted customers. One customer was complaining of wanting their money back after getting their hair done at hair prince throughout my wait time sitting in the salon. It took me almost 2 years for me to find a place to do my eyebrows. Even though I had a lot of recommended places, this was my face and I was really particular on who's going to touch my face--I mean come on, it's your face! I finally found Ally at Fairfax Brows!
